The 2026 Gender Census is now open!
[ survey.gendercensus.com ]
The 13th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th August 2026.
It’s short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.
After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.
If you think you might have friends and followers who’d be interested, please do reblog this blog post, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks. Every share is extremely helpful!
Survey URL: https://survey.gendercensus.com
The survey is open to anyone anywhere who speaks English and feels that the gender binary doesn’t fully describe their experience of themselves and their gender(s) or lack thereof.
Thank you so much!

Social isolation summer
and i mean really the problem with most networking these days is that it feels like a dicksucking contest. everyone is trying to be the best at sucking the dick of someone else. and half the time at the very least it doesnt even feel like a good dicksucking. it’s a performative dicksucking. and you’re doing it in hopes that eventually the right conditions will pop up for the person whose dick you sucked to remember you and go ‘hey, they sucked my dick 6 months ago, and they were pretty good at it, so i think they’d be a fit for this thing to which the dicksucking applies’. and when that does happen u think to yourself ‘aw well im guess im glad i did suck their dick, it’s paying off.’ and look im all for reciprocity and fairness and repaying the favour but i think we have to admit that all of this performative mutual dicksucking is just a facade. i dont want to have to care so much about being the first to suck some guy’s dick while the match is hot or however the saying goes. but unfortunately if you dont do it someone else will and then you’ll be unemployed forever
