I almost killed myself last night... (family abuse)

My mother was angry with me.

I told her about problems this house had before we bought the place, and where I was on fixing them/what I had already fixed. She flipped out and accused me of letting the house fall apart (like she didn’t see where I said they were fixed in the same sentence, or thought I caused the problems?).

The next day my cousin starts messaging me. This cousin is more of an older sister, my mom raised her. Saying that mom accused me of lying about being sickly. That mom was angry with me. Then she started demanding to see my medical paperwork. I told her no, I am an adult and I have a right to keep my paperwork private. She accused me of lying about being sick because “if you had nothing to hide you’d show it to me. So you must have something to hide.”

She harassed me literally all day yesterday. I explained to her that I am an adult and I have a right not to share medical records. She then started calling me names. I explained to her how she was being hurtful to me, and she argued that she was just “being helpful” to me, and how I was “attacking” her. She would not stop. I asked her several times. I got an hour break by threatening to file harassment charges against her, then she found an excuse to open another dialogue with me (under the guise of talking about Christmas plans). I told her that now was definitely not the time. So she went off on me about how I’m the abusive one.

She told my mom that if I tried to file charges or serve her any paperwork she was going to 5150 me in retaliation… Apparently my mom thinks that filing charges against someone is revenge but falsely calling in a 5150 to disrupt someone’s life who was hurt by your actions isn’t?

So I’m going to be filing charges ASAP and if she tries to 5150 me I have proof on me that this is premeditated harassment/further abuse.

Being in pain is a lot of work

I hate that no one really talks about how exhausting it is to be in pain.

Why is this never really discussed? I would think it’s obvious. Your body exerts a lot of energy to be in pain; muscles tense and cramp (seriously, flex your arm as hard as you can, now hold it like that for an entire day without ever relaxing it even once, you think that’s not going to make you tired?), nerves spend all day sending signals that make it feel like all your joints are full of static electricity, constantly measuring your breathing and movement to try not to make the pain worse takes effort and concentration (which is not a zero-calorie affair, your brain burns more calories to actively concentrate on things), those involuntary twitches whenever the pain spikes aren’t cost-free either and a lot of little movements add up, trying to hold a specific posture so that the pain isn’t quite as bad is a lot of work, and on and on and on.

Now imagine that being every single day of your life and try to tell me I can’t be tired because “all pain does is hurt.”

So, after doing some research into this I found out a few things.

The chips pictured above are Doritos new Roulette bag. They’re filled with mostly Nacho Cheese flavored chips and a couple ultra-spicy chips. Now, the ultra-spicy chips are coated with flavoring that measures 78,000 on the Scoville Heat Scale. For comparison, the Jalapeño pepper only measures 1000-4000 on it.

The girl pictured above is Beth, a 14 year old girl who has asthma. After eating the chip she began to struggle to breathe and feared she could die if it lead to a full-blown asthma attack. Then just a week later she had a asthma attack at school which she believes was linked to her eating the chip. 

“I couldn’t stop crying. It was the worst attack I’ve ever had. It was terrifying.” - Beth

It’s sad to see a post with so many people laughing at a girl with breathing problems who legitimately thought she might die.

I usually wouldn’t do a long debunking type post like this, but my brother has asthma so seeing this pissed me off on a whole other level.
