The thing that I find so exhausting about "if the roles were reversed" is that the roles will NEVER truly be reversed. There is too great a difference between a man doing something, his motivations, his capabilities, and a woman doing something with her motivations and capabilities. Fundamentally a woman breaking a restraining order to show up at her ex's wedding will never be the same threat as a man doing the same. Not when women commit only 10-20% of violent crimes and carry guns at half the percentage men do. Not when the average man can overpower the average woman.

How come instead of just flying actual BLM and black power stuff alongside the rainbow, we just tossed a brown and black stripe over the rainbow? I'll put the raised fist next to my rainbow happily because, idk, maybe I'm able to value them without swallowing their movement into mine.

I thought the whole point of the original pride flag was that everyone fell under it. No matter race, religious upbringing, class, education, country of origin, or ability? Adding more and more stuff to it just made it more clear which groups weren't being considered.

Why did nobody add anything for disability advocation? Why didn't anyone add anything to support feminism? Why didn't we add anything to show we stood with the homeless LGB folks? If we could add the trans flag, the BLM colours, and the intersec flag, why didn't we add any of the stuff I mentioned?

The original flag was good enough. It still is enough.
