Bad news...
hey bi people
Holy fuck
How could you forget 420A55?
being mentally ill is so embarrasing how can you explain to a normal person that you had to psych yourself up for half an hour to like get off the floor
union leaders need to study and learn from the tactics smalls used to defeat the world’s third largest corporation
A reminder that antifacism is a thing you DO, not an organisation you JOIN.
Calling a hotel and telling them a KKK chapter rented their ballroom for a meeting is antifa action
Pulling down posters promoting hate groups is antifa action (and if you do, use your keys, not your hands. Some groups put razor blades behind their postings to hurt anyone who takes them down)
Addressing local tensions in your community by participating in food drives and supporting disempowered folks can be antifacist, as facist groups will use community fears to stir up hate and gain power.
Going to an event where a figure whom fascists tend to align with and peacefully protesting is antifa action, whether that speaker thinks they’re fascist or not.
It’s not a club, religion, or organization. You don’t pay dues. Being antifa means actively trying to prevent fascism from being built, usually in local ways that respond to immediate community needs. If you see ANYTHING that talks about officially joining a group or organization, it is SUSPECT.
Funny how the url braverthanthetroops.org is something no actual antifascist would ever use because our narratory lens for perceiving the world unlike conservatives just doesn’t revolve around “the troops” they’re like peripheral to our awareness unimportant.
True freedom.
Very true but why does this jpeg look like the fever dream of a dying man

tbh i fully believe that healthy kids should be getting in some stupid trouble.
like, a child that’s in trouble all the time, frequently skipping school, getting caught doing crimes? that’s a kid that desperately needs literally any positive attention. that kid needs help. obviously.
but a child that is perfectly well-behaved, never speaks up for themself, is seen and not heard? that’s a child that’s afraid. they also need help.
Kids learn by messing up. A kid who never does anything that might lead to a mistake has been taught that it’s not okay to make mistakes
eldest daughter syndrome and gifted kid syndrome are some great examples of phrases used to talk about specific kinds of trauma that the internet has taken and turned into "boo hoo these people arent special anymore so theyre lashing out!!" it was never about that you fucking cunts
eldest daughter sydrome is about a very specific trauma that comes with being expected to parent for younger siblings and even your parents as a literal child and how badly it fucks you and your perception of yourself and what you're capable of doing up. gifted kid syndrome is about how a "smart" label is slapped onto kids at a horribly young age and then they are repeatedly denied help forced to do more and more work never taught socialization or study skills and then berated and treated like a disappointment when they're human beings instead of little intelligence machines. god.
i was fucking right about this honestly. most phrases like this are about certain kinds of trauma people have faced not about some kind of fucking superiority complex
Have some anecdotes to help remember context:
1. A friend has 5 kids. A girl and 4 boys. Guess which one's the oldest. Guess which one tearfully told me she has a recurring nightmare her mom is pregnant again. "I just cant handle any more kids." She's 13.
2. Me and a fellow valedictorian trying to explain to our school principal that we do not want to give speeches at graduation. We were only A students because we were good at memorization. We literally made it a game right before tests to see how quickly we could look at the study materials and memorize formulas and facts. We retained none of this information after exams. We were about to head out to college with zero study skills. We felt it was important he know this as it would have been hypocritical of us to give speeches.
He was furious and didn't let us sit with the other valedictorians onstage during the ceremony.
Genuinely convinced that my husband and I just don’t have the object permanence to be jealous.
When I’m out until midnight he’s not like “I bet she’s getting hit on by other guys” he’s like “heehee viddy games, hoohoo painting”
And then when I do come back it’s like “:D oh shit I forgot you existed but im glad you reminded me.”
“Queer isn’t more inclusive than LGBT” List of people not included in LGBT off the top of my head without looking it up (so definitely leaves some people out) Pansexual Asexual Aromantic Intersex Nonbinary Genderfluid You can use LGBT+ but just so y’all know “quiltbag” became a slur a long time ago due to adding a ton of letters to the initialism to be “all inclusive” so we already can’t win for losin’ here
Queer is also easier to verbally say than a series of letters. One syllable vs an alphabet. The only problem with the word queer are TERFs because it’s an all-inclusive umbrella term, and those who have been manipulated by TERFs I to believing their bullshit.
Yep. There is and has been a “DROP THE T” movement for at least a decade. If you see someone use the intialism “LGB”, dollars to donuts they’re a fucking bigot I truly don’t give a fuck what label you want to use for yourself. I care about you. I care about whether or not you exist. I want you to be a part of a community, any community, that accepts you and loves you for who you are. TERFs don’t.
Queer is only a slur to the people who are offended certain folks continue to exist without their say-so
*learns basic social skills well into my 20s that most people know by the time theyre like 11*
having strict parents will do that to you
Having autism will do that
Having ADHD will do that to you
Being LGBT will do that to you
