I blog mostly about fandom stuff, various video games, movies, shows and books I am into at any given time. It's a bit chaotic, but it's fun. I often share and reblog things that are important to me, such as issues that I find important (race, queer, disability rights, Slavic content, ND stuff and nature) as well as anything I find pretty. I occasionally post my cat.

I would prefer if you wouldn't follow me if you are a minor. I don't post graphic and NSFW content aside from occasional art and jokes.

This is not a space for you if you are racist, queerphobic, ableist, TERF etc. etc. or if you intend to get me involved in some kind of shitty discourse surrounding these.

I have no patience for tankies, they will be blocked on sight. The validity of suffering of various peoples at the hands of authoritarian dictators will not be discussed on my blog.

Please don’t tag me if you are a discourse or hate-based blog. (this includes blog that exist to just dunk on fandoms too).

I am not involved in the pro/anti ship discourse and everything I know I learned agaisnt my will. My general rule of thumb is "don't be an asshole" and "don't force your personal preferences onto others in public spaces" so I have no idea where that puts me but that's the extend of my philosophy on this.

I know you think it’s “feminist” to hate on women who already have self esteem and image issues (through no fault of their own, as a direct result of patriarchy) for doing something to help them cope with their fleeting youth - which may or may not have been stripped from them against their will due to years of depression, abuse, oppression, or whatever else - but the truth is that the freedom to get Botox is actually a right feminists have fought for - whether intentionally or unintentionally. Women used to get thrown away when we outlived our youth and beauty - now we have the option to prolong it and change the way we are perceived and treated by society as a whole. We ALL had to grow up too fast. We ALL have to cope with a childhood that ended too soon. I’m no less a feminist than you are simply because I choose to hold onto my youth and beauty because it helps me feel better about my own loss of innocence. This is all just another excuse to hate on women and tear us down. You’re literally letting the patriarchy win by judging women for their personal choices which harm absolutely no one. Please grow up. Not everyone is conventionally attractive or ages gracefully. Some women can cope with that and some can’t. Both deserve love and respect. Have some decency. You’re not edgy for this. You’re hating just like a man would.

people who express seething, violent hatred towards cyclists: you make people feel unsafe as fuck! you're allowed to be annoyed with cyclists. some of us are dicks who need to learn the road rules. but anytime I see someone "joke" about hitting cyclists with their car I feel a little bit sick to my stomach.

feels like as soon as my feet are on the pedals of my only reliable mode of transport, I become a target for people driving a terrifyingly fast and heavy car. when I was barely a toddler, my dad had to go on rallies to raise awareness about the fact that people on bikes are PEOPLE who do not deserve to be KILLED BY DRIVERS.

he had slogans trying to remind people that he was a dad with a 2 year old son at home, because both him and his friends have had drivers swerve at them any time they got on their bicycles. I just find how "normal" it is to want to kill cyclists pretty fucking scary.

"it's just a joke" yep! but jokes are rooted in ideas that you are reinforcing. you can laugh about how annoying cyclists are without sounding like you want us to get life ending injuries for inconveniencing you.

there has been a shocking (but somehow unsurprising) number of people who saw this post about how my friends and family are at the mercy of drivers every time we get on our bikes, this post about how so many people have lost friends to road rage because they were cyclists, and decided this was the right place to seethe about us without even a word of recognition for the actual issue I'm trying so hard to bring light to.

just. I don't know. maybe a post about people being killed is not the place to talk shit about said people! could we please practice thinking before we speak?

perlah alawi is one of the characters that stood out to me the most this season - from the very first minutes until the end. she’s kind and jovial and patient and understanding and strong, even in the face of an otherwise profoundly horrible day.

she laughs with her patients when they need it, she holds their hand when they’re scared, she throws herself over them in the face of danger, she protects their modesty when they themselves are not able to, she makes sure they are heard amongst a sea of voices.

and she doesn’t just do this for those in gown, either. she cares for her coworkers in a way that isn’t loud or flashy, but steady and consistent and genuine. perlah is time and time again the one who is at their side with an ice pack or a hug or a solid hand to lend.

perlah encapsulates what it means to be a good nurse, one that cares so deeply about the people around her or those in her care, in so many different ways.

she is the immovable force that stands between those around her and the seemingly unstoppable object that is coming their way. even, and maybe especially so, when it feels like it’s not possible to withstand.
