Drag/female impersonation has a similar, unsavoury history to blackface. "Progressives" who insist on the uncritical preservation of drag & refuse to even discuss ways in which it might be problematic- are just the left-wing equivalent of conservatives who cry about "preserving heritage." They literally refuse to analyze anything about the origins of drag, problematic manifestations in the present day, how times have changed and why drag/impersonating women with sexist caricatures may no longer be good/ appropriate.
