I feel like I need to share this because idk if Europeans are familiar with the presence of Aldi in the US, but at least especially in my area they’ve been growing a lot recently. Like Aldi bought out some local failing grocery chains where I live (Louisiana) and have opened Aldis in all these somewhat rural communities and small towns, which for the record I’m fine with

But as a result of this they are advertising a lot more in my area and also in many cases, the people in these areas have never been confronted with Aldi or any European grocery store. So the ads that Aldi is pushing out to its new US customer base feature a cowboy shopping at Aldi who is explaining to new Aldi customers how Aldi works. Like this cowboy is explaining you gotta put a quarter in the shopping cart and why there are very little name brands. A cowboy is how they want to reach their American customer base. They gave us a cowboy

The path to redemption sure ain't a straight one. :)

Still got Gargoyles on the brain, and what better way to scratch that itch than to draw a human and her supernatural situationship with her ex's ex?

But to be real, I am making tentative progress on that Gargoyles AU! Got myself the start of an outline at least and some ideas for scenes. Basic synopsis of it for anyone new or needing a reminder: it explores the idea of Demona successfully redeeming herself and giving up her 1000 year old grudge against... well. The world basically.

One of the things I'd like to play with in the AU is how Demona and Elisa's relationship changes over the course of the redemption. In the midst of that gradual change, she and Elisa end up finding common ground. Enough to where they begin to see their once tremulous truce hurtle toward a trajectory neither expected.

TLDR they're fuckin gay baby.

BUT YE! I think I'm about ready for the concept art stage, so there's probably gonna be a few sketches of the crew comin' along soon enough and some notes on the AU as I bang my head against that wall. Until then I hope ya like the art! uwu

In kindergarten, they had this fake flower that they called The Peace Flower. Whenever you were having a disagreement with someone, you went and got The Peace Flower and gave it to them. They were supposed to take it, and then you hugged and made up and were friends again.

Once we got a note from an upset kindergarten teacher about an incident with The Peace Flower. I wanted to give her the opportunity to explain what happened.

"Ariana and I were having an argument and she wouldn't listen and she was mad at me. So I went and got The Peace Flower and gave it to her. Only she wouldn't take it! I told her she had to take it, but she wouldn't! I tried several times and told her that that was the rule: You *have* to take it! But she wouldn't!

...so I hit her with it!"

(the note had said "student hit her friend with The Peace Flower")

So forever after that, it became an inside joke in our house (and with close friends) where a story would end with "So I hit her with The Peace Flower!"
