Should they kiss?
They should kiss.
They should kiss. This is a terrible idea.
They should interact, but not kiss.
They should stay far, far away from each other.

I invested in Devil's Minion stocks without realizing Louis de Pointe du Lac was a majority shareholder

One thing I'm really loving about the perspective shift between Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat is how Lestat and Louis appear in each other's narratives, through each other's eyes.
Louis sees Lestat as this primal force of nature who looks like a romance novel hero, can effortlessly control any room, is "preternaturally charming," impeccably turned out, no one can say no to him for long.
but we get in LESTAT'S head, and suddenly he has scars and a tangled mane of hair, people are constantly talking over him, he sweats, he's getting beat up and his clothes are getting destroyed in a non-sexy way, he's flailing around wildly with NO idea what he's doing, people (lestat included) think he's untalented and annoying.
And LOUIS, well. Louis clearly sees himself as uncanny, reserved, compelling but a little off-putting. He is other: cut-off from humanity, holding his emotions and relationships at arm's length.
Then we see him in The Vampire Lestat, and it's like no. This is the warmest, cutest, sexiest, coolest, most desirable man who has ever walked the face of the earth.
The Centaurs are asked to do one of those sexy pin-up charity calendars and a photographer gets brought in to take the pictures.
The guys are goofing around, sitting in on each other's sessions and making jokes, and generally being a pain in the ass. The photographer has just about run out of patience when finally it's Shane's turn.
Shane, consummate professional that he is, locks in. It's a little bit embarrassing to be doing this in front of the guys, sure, but he's got a decade's experience here. He can easily compartmentalize.
The photographer is ecstatic that someone is finally taking this seriously! It doesn't even matter that the room his filled with hockey players wolf whistling and shouting "Looking good, Hollzy!" because Shane hits every pose and makes every adjustment and is generally just a dream to work with. (It also doesn't hurt that he's so easy on the eyes.)
Ilya finds the whole thing fun at first but his expression is stormy by the end and when Shane finally gets cleared to leave the set, he's positively pouting.
"What's the matter?" Shane asks quietly as soon as they're in the hallway.
"You liked that?" Ilya asks. "Taking his directions?"
Shane rolls his eyes. He can't believe he thought something was seriously wrong. "Oh my god, you're ridiculous."
"Is a simple question!"
"I was just doing my job. It's not like I was having fun."
"Could have fooled me," Ilya mutters bitterly. "You were being very good for him, doing whatever he told you."
Shane's cheeks go hot, a Pavlovian reaction to Ilya telling him he's good even though it's wrapped up in the pettiest, most stupid accusation.
"You know I've done this like a hundred times, right? There is nothing special about this specific photographer."
Ilya's eyebrows rise. "You would go to your knees for any man who asked you, as long as he's holding a camera?"
Maybe there had been a pose or two involving Shane on his knees. That doesn't make this tantrum of Ilya's any less stupid- although looking at him now, Shane's not sure if he's still just pissed or if he's talked himself around into being horny about it, too. Ilya does have a tendency to do that.
Shane really shouldn't be encouraging this. But then again, "Why don't you take me home and try it?"
Ilya curses under his breath, then grabs Shane's hand and practically drags him out to the car.
im a tually gonna fucking do things.
I wanted to draw a moving pictureš
Ilya: this guy is cute, I should start a stationary bike race so he knows I want to get sweaty together
Ilya: that didnāt quite work. Maybe I should just give him the eye? While I tell him I hope he likes his new city?
Ilya: okay. But surely if I make him drink from my water bottle and brush his fingers when passing it over
Ilya: call him pretty. To his face. No way he can miss that
Ilya: desperate measures, Iāll have to tell him I orchestrated this whole ad campaign just so I could see him again
Ilya: WHAT IF I STARTED JERKING OFF IN THESE COMUNAL SHOWERS?

will they send me the chamomile tea cake with strawberry icing recipe
This buttery, chamomile tea-scented loaf is a sweet pop symphony, the Abba of cakes. A pot of flowery, just-brewed chamomile isnāt required for drinking with slices of this tender loaf but is strongly recommended. In life and in food, you always need balance: A sip or two of the grassy, herbal tea between bites of this cake counters the sweetness, as do freeze-dried strawberries, which lend tartness and a naturally pink hue to the lemony glaze. This everyday loaf will keep on the counter for 3 to 4 days; be sure the cut side is always well wrapped.
Ingredients Yield: One 9-inch loaf ½ cup/115 grams unsalted butter 2 tablespoons/6 grams chamomile tea (from 4 to 6 tea bags), crushed fine if coarse 1 cup/240 milliliters whole milk Nonstick cooking spray 1 cup/200 grams granulated sugar ½ teaspoon coarse kosher salt 2 large eggs 1 large lemon 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1½ cups/192 grams all-purpose flour 1 cup/124 grams confectionersā sugar ½ cup/8 grams freeze-dried strawberries
Preparation Step 1 In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon chamomile to a large mixing bowl. Pour the hot melted butter over the chamomile and stir. Set aside to steep and cool completely, about 1 hour. Step 2 Use the same saucepan (without washing it out) to bring the milk to a simmer over medium-high heat, keeping watch so it doesnāt boil over. Remove from the heat, and stir the remaining 1 tablespoon chamomile into the hot milk. Set aside to steep and cool completely, about 1 hour. Step 3 Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan with the nonstick cooking spray and line with parchment paper so the long sides of the pan have a couple of inches of overhang to make lifting the finished cake out easier. Step 4 Add the sugar and salt to the bowl with the butter, and whisk until smooth and thick, about 1 minute. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, vigorously whisking to combine after each addition. Zest the lemon into the bowl; add the baking powder and vanilla, and whisk until incorporated. Add the flour and stream in the milk mixture while whisking continuously until no streaks of flour remain. Step 5 Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and bake until a skewer or cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean (a few crumbs are OK, but you should see no wet batter), 40 to 45 minutes. Cool in the pan on a rack for 30 minutes. Step 6 While the cake cools, make the icing: Into a medium bowl, squeeze 2 tablespoons juice from the zested lemon, then add the confectionersā sugar. Place the dehydrated strawberries in a fine-mesh sieve set over the bowl and, using your fingers, crush the brittle berries and press the red-pink powder through the sieve and into the sugar. (The more you do this, the redder your icing will be.) Whisk until smooth. Step 7 If needed, run a knife along the edges of the cake to release it from the pan. Holding the 2 sides of overhanging parchment, lift the cake out and place it on a plate, cake stand or cutting board. Discard the parchment. Pour the icing over the cake, using a spoon to push the icing to the edges of the cake to encourage the icing to drip down the sides dramatically. Cool the cake completely and let the icing set.

They both have their own share of pressure on their shoulders, but only one of them seems invested in their family's future...

The other night husband and I were watching a documentary about the yeti where they were doing DNA analysis of samples of supposed yeti fur, and every one of them came back as bears.
Anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. People said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. Now, I happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. So every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange.
So now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? Bear. Every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear.
Bears. Theyāre everywhere. Be wary. Anyone or anything could be a bear.
oh shit
As the OP of this post, Iām going to threaten that if this gets to one million notes by the 10 year anniversary on 1 June 2026, one year from today, I will get a lower back tattoo of the loch ness bear monster.
Y'all know what to do Tumblr.

thinking about will intentionally nudging mike into subspace⦠like the partyās hanging out in mikeās basement and will starts small, telling mike to do things for him, like go fetch a drink, go get a sweater, sit on the ground by his knee, etc. little things all evening.
at first will just says stuff like thanks, mikeās too good to him, making him preen and try to hide a grin, but gradually heās lowering his voice with it, eventually just whispering praise in his ear, saying heās so perfect, he listens so well, such a good boy, so good for himā¦
mikeās getting quiet, disoriented, struggling to keep his wits around the party (they notice, obviously, and tease him for losing his train of thought or jumping at whatever will asks, but caringās hard as his brain mellows and he canāt find words and just wants to be good)
all night willās been adding soft touches, a possessive hand around the back of the neck, hair ruffles, and eventually he gives his hair a sharp tug and mikeās goneeee, eyes glazed, leaning against willās leg on the floor all floaty and hazy, barely supporting his own weightā¦
when max teases that he hasnāt said a word in over an hour, mike doesnāt respond, just keeps gazing up at will, whoās gently petting his hair and smiling at how relaxed and willing to please he is. will didnāt even have an ulterior motive, honestly. he just likes him like this :]
