Hypnotic suggestions from being mind controlled persist after the controller’s death, causing the victim to occasionally take actions to support the cause of a mind flayer cult that no longer exists.

Repeated demonic possession has left the patient with permanent gaps in their soul’s defenses, causing them to immediately get re-possessed if they go outside a consecrated area.

Post-resurrection trauma as the revived soul remembers an unpleasant afterlife.

Magical healing can get very weird if something is stuck in the wound. It’ll get you back on your feet, but you can get outcomes like “there’s a chunk of wood fused into your chest because the magic couldn’t figure out how to get the arrow out of your chest and just healed it in place,” and this can cause mobility issues or infection vectors down the line.

Parasitized by (insert creature here). If you don’t take the correct precautions to keep it dormant it will continue to spread and eventually hatch out/transform you.

Repeated contact with the undead has left you open to their influence - leading to hearing or seeing things that other mortals can’t, which can distort or distract from more mundane concerns.

One that I like is the idea that paladins (and anybody else with supernatural immunity to disease) have their own “disease” in the form of severe allergies. If you’re magically insulated from ever catching any disease, ever, your immune system isn’t getting any kind of natural use. So it overreacts to everything. Being immune to being sick makes them “sick.”

Mages that have complications of their own magic, such as Pyromancers overheating if they don’t let off a fireball now and then, or conversely, being prone to hypothermia and needing their fire magic in order to stay warm.

Demons-- or similar beings who feed off of souls in some way-- reproducing with people outside of their species being somewhat risky due to the chance that their offspring may inherit their soul-feeding capabilities without the capability to protect their own soul from themselves (this can especially be the case in worlds in which full-blooded demons don't have souls.) For affected children who make it past infancy, there are two routes they can go for continued survival. The first one is that, despite not needing to feed off of souls the same way their demonic parent needs to, they have to feed on other's souls to keep their soul safe from eating itself. The second one is that there exist medications and/or therapies for people like themselves, given that the disabled character has access to these treatments.

If vampirism is a disease like any other, and it is able to be cured, then vampirism could have lasting symptoms that appear after curing it. For instance: similar to how ex-terrestrial marine animals are proposed to cannot evolve back to being terrestrial once they've gained or lost certain traits, will ex-vampires struggle to transition back into digesting anything that isn't blood, or even be entirely unable to?

People who have had their soul split and then had the other piece(a) of their soul go on to live a physically separate life, but later their soul becomes whole again, and they now remember parts of lives that they personally never lived. Do they struggle with identity after this? Even as a current whole, can they be considered multiple people now and forever? And if their other lives put out misery and grief into the world, do they assume guilt for past actions they never personally committed?

It's generally ill-advised for mages to use their bare hands (or other body parts) to conduct their magic, especially if it's elemental magic. The magic may be more potent and easier-controlled using one's own body as the conductor, but conductors exist to be weathered down and take strain away from casters. Cutting out the middle-man, so to speak, often cuts away at the caster's vitality.

Elsens and Metal (Music)

This one silly idea I had made me creatively write more than any of the unfulfilled requests I've got 💀 why am I like this,,,,

As a general group, Zone 1 elsens like metal plenty!.. just not as a music genre. A select few of them may like that specific instance of the term "metal" though, finding that it helps get them through stressful assignments. Alma has the highest concentration of workers that fancy heavy music. Though Dedan isn't a fan, he doesn't care as long as it doesn't hamper productivity and they aren't blasting it when he's around.

The vast majority of elsens from Zone 2 would hate any and all heavy music, sound-wise and lyric-wise (it causes them to ruminate and spiral). A Stab of Happiness is the heaviest many of Bismark's denizens can handle. Really, most don't like a lot of different instruments (including vocals), time signature changes, or breaks... Perhaps a very brave one or two of them would be able to listen to the likes of Caramelldansen, however.

Now... Zone 3 has a disproportionate amount of elsens that would enjoy metal music, and those who don't are the outliers here. Whereas in most other zones, it would stress the elsens out, the elsens of Zone 3 would feel stabilized and grounded by the heavier music. Metal would also provide a flame of rebellion under their feet. And for all of that, their dear director would definitely do all he can to make sure that metal does not blossom there-- Enoch doesn't need any Psychosocial by Slipknot ruining his flow of labor and sugar. Enoch doesn't even like the sound of metal anyways; it's all just noise to him.

On Wattpad, I wrote (and made MsPaint fan art for) a Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild oc × canon shipfic... Link × Bokoblin.

The bokoblin's name was Boka, she was the secret fourth triforce wielder, and she was bright pink (so that you knew she was the very special only girl bokoblin). I have no clue what she actually did, but Ganon was terrified of his own accidental creation.

I'm almost positive I deleted it several years after writing it, but I remember the last chapter I wrote was a "there's only one bed" trope, in the old man's hut. The grammar was nonexistent, by the way.

Here are some OFF headcanons centered on elsens that nobody really requested but my friend and I wanted me to write teehee ^_^

Elsens in Zone 2 are really nosy and gossip-prone. However, it isn't malicious-- it's more oriented towards keeping the community safe and alert. In fact, almost all of Bismark is aware of who has damaged what books, besides the Librarian of course-- the culprits are already at risk of getting themself papercuts, it would be so cruel to also get them in trouble too.

Elsens in Zone 3 have a very competitive and toxic work environment. When one elsen succeeds, another elsen is punished. Rations certainly aren't coming out of Enoch-- no, Enoch has it arranged that for every percent increase in rations that one elsen earns, there's a percent decrease for a less productive elsen.

Elsens in Zone 1 have a very cooperative and supportive work environment. The success of one elsen in a district is treated as an inspiration and something to model for the rest of them-- especially if that success gets noticed by Dedan. Dedan might be a loud asshole, but he knows how to make a productive work culture at least-- if only there were clones of Dedan like there are of elsens, he'd be a lot less stressed and pissed off. And unlike in Zone 3, Zone 1's elsens have some days off.

Elsens under the effects of sugar are referred to as "glazed," as opposed to "high" or "stoned." Additionally, that one elsen in Area 1 of Vesper whom we see looking out over the plastic sea was definitely glazed.

I see a lot of people think that wearing the necktie made The Batter be visually perceived as another elsen, but I disagree. The Batter didn't trick the elsens of East Bismark into thinking he's an elsen by wearing a necktie per se; what wearing the necktie really did was give them a sense of security in thinking that somebody there knew the Batter personally and let him borrow their necktie as a way of vouching for him to travel through. That vouching went right out the proverbial window the moment that the Batter began making the elsens there feel ill at ease though.

As a follow-up to the previous headcanon, I also like to think that-- although the valzong-burnt sprite and the overworld elsen sprite stay generic-- there wasn't actually a real prize to winning the Balloon Game in Zone 2's Theme Park, but the elsen in charge of the game knew that prizes were typically rewarded upon completion of those sorts of games, so he'd take off his necktie everytime he had to work the booth just to fix it onto the balloon in the middle. He never imagined that somebody would actually win that prize though, which is another part of why he was so freaked out (and the sound of the balloons popping certainly didn't help his nerves either, even he did know the source.)

Liquid plastic is occasionally referred to as water by the elsens-- primarily the ones of Zone 2 who've read about water in certain books, and then related the concept of water to the liquid plastic that they've got instead. Liquid plastic is not something you want to get on your skin though, and even less, ingest. But you'd find it in the same places you'd find water, so it works out. Reading about touching or ingesting water in books freaks elsens the fuck out though-- combined with the fear of ripping pages, the library might as well be considered full of horror novels.

Elsen clothing is all made of polyester. Thankfully, elsens don't really emit body odor (even when they sweat), though they can accumulate a general funk from where they've been, which they do wash off with a nice metal dust bath. The exception to this is that elsens under immense stress and on the verge of going burnt do have a very slight smell of caramel about them. Burnts themselves have a very strong smell of charred caramel. On that note, the air in Zone 3 can be like a horrible punch to the nostrils to anybody not from there-- especially the farther North in Vesper you get. Sugar consumption can make the sugar smog more tolerable though.

Most elsens do their laundry communally, but some (mostly in Zone 2) prefer to do their laundry themselves and at their own pace. Honestly, everything happens at its own pace in Zone 2, besides trade with the other zones.

Most residents of the Zones, including elsens, make up for a general lack of water by getting all their hydration needs met through consuming meat... Somebody ask me my thoughts on Zone 1 cows please.

Zone 1 elsens tend to stay in their assigned districts for long periods of time, with various promotions scattered throughout. However, if an elsen is starting to become disillusioned or even burnt out with their current stations, there is a process for them to start anew in a different district (though it is lengthy)... Unless they're in Alma, but who would want to leave such a good job?.. Under normal circumstances, your average Shachihata worker can take years to become truly worn thin by their job, but in Alma, it usually only takes a month for the disillusionment and anguish to set in. This is why everybody but those who actually work in Alma sing Alma's praises so high: dead men tell no tales. And a month is not long enough for an elsen to completely deconstruct their preconceived views on Alma (and warn others of the pipedream)-- they'd much sooner just straight-up burn from the sudden influx in disappointment and doubt.

Also, this is not my own headcanon, not at all, but I am 110% a believer in that all the elsens originate from the giant elsen in the Room, forming on that guy like fungus on a log and then falling off... Onto something a bit more original to that though: the other elsens we see in the Room are in direct contact with the big elsen and-- along with having very streamlined, simple routines-- that's why they're so steady and confident. Meanwhile, the vast majority of elsens elsewhere had been taken from their progenitor so quick they can't even remember him, and they remember the Room just barely. So they couldn't even develop that essential part of identity that comes with having a connection to any sort of nurturing figure, though many in Zone 1 have imprinted on Dedan. A few in Zone 3 exalt the Director like that too, though much less directly, and it's almost always from those who have never met the Director. But then you've got the elsens in Zone 2 who've got no guardian that they know of-- no protection nor leadership... Japhet, unlike Dedan and unlike Enoch (who views the elsens more like peons), returned the feeling of kinship though-- which is not so much headcanon as it is canon actually haha.

I'm 5"9, and an infp. Some interests and hobbies of mine are playing video games (mostly RPGs), reading, and playing with Sebastian (my cat). I also like fashion, but I'm not the most fashionable myself lol. I dress like Adam Sandler.

My personality is kind of shy when you first meet me, but I open up pretty quickly if the first impression goes well. Once I know somebody, I can be very talkative and nice.

Luigi Mario!

Your first meeting was likely pretty simple, nothing spectacular. The both of you aren't known for being the most outspoken, after all. However, after the first and maybe second interaction, you two finally got to conversing and then became quick friends!

Luigi is an amazing listener, and he'd love to lend an ear to you for pretty much whatever-- light-hearted conversation or serious conversation. Honestly, he feels pretty honored actually that you'd come out of your shell for him.

Speaking of which, Luigi is one of the best for you to vent to. And if anybody is bothering you, well, they don't call him Luigi "respect my loved ones or I'll bite you" Mario for nothing... okay, he doesn't bite (he's much too gentle of a soul for that), but Luigi certainly can (METAPHORICALLY) chew somebody's ear off if they dare disrespect someone he cares for!.. even if it's a big baddie, like King Boo or King Koopa (he will be scared absolutely shitless but he will try his best!!!)

Luigi is on the shy side, and around the beginning of you two's relationship-- whatever kind it is-- you may have to be the one to initiate and extend invitations first if you're not too keen on waiting for him to gather his nerves and his words. Especially if it involves physical contact, you're gonna have to do it first. Luigi is a hugger (and a cuddler, as well as a kisser if you two are dating) for sure, but you've usually gotta give him some kind of go-ahead in the beginning. So your relationship is sort of a "you get me out of my shell, I get you out of yours" kind of deal.

Luigi accepts and gives love in a great many ways, but his primary love language is quality time, followed by words of affirmation and acts of service.

Luigi is a sucker for a good read and usually really isn't picky about what he reads unless it comes to romance novels or anything spooky, the latter of which he doesn't have much stomach at all for. It's almost ironic that Luigi is such a stickler for romance novels though, because that also happens to be his favorite genre if he can get his hands on a really good example of it's genre. And speaking of getting his hands on books, you two should trade books or make recommendations to each other 👀

By the way, you wanna know what Luigi's homewear is like?.. Adam Sandler! Yeah, the comfort that lies within that style of clothes is 110% not lost on him, and honestly. So, you wanna try and trade clothes too maybe? Maybe also twin with him and go cuddle up on the couch reading alongside him? 👀 👀

He's quite open to watching you play video games too, even though he's really casual about video games himself. I can see him being open to trying out a couple RPGs though if you wanted to show him the ropes. Luigi would adore the Animal Crossing franchise if you got him into that-- no Animal Crossings aren't RPGs, but I can just picture that so much. I can taste it, even.

And like yourself, Luigi is also a proud owner of a pet: Polterpup! Polterpup is a bit on the excitable side though, so depending on Sebastian's temperament, you may want to introduce Polterpup and Sebastian gently. Luigi would certainly love Sebastian though, that's for sure-- especially if Sebastian likes him back.

All-in-all, Luigi is a real sweetheart and a blessing to have around, whether he be your buddy or your boyfriend. I hope you like this match-up and feel I did a good job of putting you two together ^_^
