Star Trek DS9 3x20 / Improbable Cause
julians dummy cute face got me kicking my feet
(Re)Watching BtVS seeing that side-profile in the dark and thinking "that seems familiar" and "oh that neck and hairline kinda pretty". 😏
Only to remember that your read in Dominic Keating's filmography that he played in one episode of BtVS. Wait a minute ! And just after that thought realising you recognised the guy by his side-profile...
Did I obsess to much on Malcolm Reed from Enterprise ? Possibly 😅 (For my defense he has the same hair cut and Enterprise did like to shoot Reed from the side...)
Anyway, here are some screenshots ˆˆ
Does anyone know where this gif comes from? I've never seen DS9 outtakes before, apart from that season one reel where Avery is like "I might".
Also, please share links to any other outtakes or gag reels here, so they can all be easily found!
Loving JAG as a kid then discovering Star Trek Enterprise years later means solving the mystery of Clayton Webb's transformation in later seasons.
The shorter hair and the bigger arms ? Oh yeah he needed to look like the perfect military thirst trap for one Lieutenant Reed ^^
On the left : Special Agent Clayton Webb CIA, fluffy hair and even fluffier morals. Cute as hell. Somewhat immortal he keeps on dying then coming back from the dead.
On the right : MACO Major J. Hayes, playing space cowboy with a Starfleet crew and looking damn hot when bickering with Lieutenant Reed. He died (and never came back).
I think Star Trek did itself a great disservice by not revealing Lieutenant Malcolm Reed as a gay man. His character practically begged for release from his closet. The unresolved sexual tension between Reed and Military Assault Command Operations officer Major J. Hayes shone through in more ways than one. The death of Hayes would have been all the more meaningful. I know it flies in the face of the #BuryYourGays trope.
[Send in your Star Trek Enterprise Confessions]
At this point in time, it's obvious that the character of Hayes was written for developping Reed's character in the series.
But by 3x23 and Hayes' death, it just feels like a missed opportunity for more.
At least we got Harbinger (3x15) and Hatchery (3x17) out of it.
Dreams of the Raven is a Spones novel. Like, Spones is as canon in DotR as Spirk is to me in TOS. Look at all this:
Even Kirk ships it:
I rest my case
Watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a kid is thinking that you have Angel or Spike as male love interests. Or Xander
Re-watching BtVS as an adult is understanding that Giles is the male eye candy of the show 💥
(And also that you're not straight because of Buffy,Willow and Faith 😁)
Do you ever stop and think about how Beastie Boys referenced Star Trek TOS with Spock and the Vulcan neck pinch in Intergalactic
Only for years later having Kirk listen to their song Sabotage (a classic piece of music by the 23rd century mind you) in the AOS films ?
And now this meme I saw on Pinterest makes the full circle 😆
Star Trek Deep Space Nine "Battle Lines"
Look out, flying twink coming at you!
Clear illustration of how this character YEETS himself into your heart (never to get out)
Rewatching Starsky & Hutch? A third time?
I'm thinking about it...
Diving back into it. (Parce que personne ne plonge comme Ramon ^^)
my mom and I are doing an "oops all Garak" run of DS9 and it is so bonkers how during Our Man Bashir it's like Alexander Siddig and Andrew Robinson went "how can we fuck without penetration on this show" and acted accordingly
After watching 4 seasons straight of Star Trek Enterprise, one cannot read the sentence "it's been a long time" without hearing the opening theme...
.
.
.
or maybe it's just me and my jukebox brain
(same thing when i hear the word space since watching Star Trek TOS years ago)
Just finished watching Star Trek Enterprise for the first time !
I had fun watching it. I was taken by the stories and characters. Glad to have progressed in my Trekkie journey with it. I really liked it !
I also got a crush on Malcolm Reed (because of course I did...)
And somehow got emotionally attached to the cutie pie that is Trip Tucker.
BUT ! That last episode... Come on man ! It was horrible. Just BAD. Like really bad.
Now I get why people chose to ignore it and that's exactly what I'll do when reading fanfictions and ENT novels.
Live long and be gay
Happy pride month!
In DS9 canon known as the episode Past Prologue 😆 ❤️
