#MamaDay Errday. To my children who help me discover the true meaning in my life.⁠ ⁠ I have never been a fan of posting when there's a national something day, I have and will always be on my time. So #HappyMothersDay every day to all the moms doing what it do to get it done. I see y'all and y'all don't get seen loud enough.⁠ ⁠ #motherhood ain't easy, especially if you doing it 24/7 shits actually exhausting, and y'all can tell all the lies you want to yourself, but I really be annoyed more than half the time, doesn't mean I don't love them any less, but you really do need a break. Oh you know.. Just living my best life and showing you all that I'm still #Healing⁠ ⁠ I'm sure you all seen posts and memes on how healing always doesn't look like this or that. I can only tell you how I'm healing from my year of 2020.⁠ ⁠ When I'm crying, I'm not healing. Im still hurting. When I have no desire to get dress or get out the house, Im not healing. I'm depressed.⁠ ⁠ How I process my healing is making decision and deciding to stop playing victim although It's hard to get out of the victim role especially during depression so I applaud those who get up and try to put forth the effort daily.⁠ ⁠ #MyHealing consist of #GettingBackToMo and how that looks is doing things that makes me happy, so I started with a list of all the things that makes me happy, See next slide. And based off that list I begin to take actionable steps to see if that will change my mood.⁠ ⁠ and since the year started, I've been on retreats, Ive traveled, eaten out, hiked, I'm slowly doing all the things that makes me happy. Brandi @thewellnessenthusiast the founder of @hikeandheal curated the 2nd annual retreat that I, fortunately, was able to grab last minute. During this fun-filled cold yet warm weekend we celebrated wins, we shared, we cried, we laughed, and we dance, most importantly we got to heal or begin to heal whatever wound we been holding on to and we all came together and pour into our journey of #selflove, #selfCare, individually and collectively. 3 weeks #postpartumbody Today is New Year’s Eve.. This picture is from my anniversary almost two weeks ago. So much I want to share, so much I want to get off my chest.. I have felt the worst pain a woman can go through this entire year.. When the clocks hit 12am and we embark on #Year2021 none of the pain I been feeling just go the fuck away.. I’m still hurting, I’m still in pain, I still have questions, I’m still trying to balance having a normal fucken life while trying to be a present and active mom, an amazing wife, a loving daughter, a compassionate sister, a supportive friend and a successful mother fucken business owner, all while still very much struggling with #severeAnxiety and #Depression I really beat myself up leading up till this day.. and I have to chuckle because one thing I know is that many can’t do is go thru a fraction of what I’ve endured in the last 3 years let alone this year. But what I noticed is how did I survive this past year? I started to look at the small things that helped me and while I have a hand full of people who have contributed to the help there’s one person I give the most credit to. The person is me. Because everyday I showed up, everyday I fought, I worked, and I tried to get better, everyday it was me fighting myself, and everyday I woke up to fight another day. It was less than 5 days before meeting our lil guy and we still have no name 😱 this is the story of how sage became Sage... My closest friends and family knows we plan for this lil guy. In fact I planned it to the T! I knew my ovulation date, downloaded the flow app, purchased ovulation test. I also planned it because I wanted a 2020 #YearOfTheRat baby but I planned it to where I would give birth to a #sagittariusBaby yes I’m into the #Moons, #stars, and all the above! So Snai our eldest son was playing with the new baby stuff and I shouted “Snai stop playing with Sage things” what I meant to say was “Sag” as in referencing Sagittarius. The sec I said that I looked over to Danny and said “sage?” The baby could be called Sage! We both individually started to look at the meaning and it click! We didn’t make it official of course untill he was born. (Sage) noun. a profoundly wise person; a person famed for wisdom. someone venerated for the possession of wisdom, judgment, and experience. How fitting though is the name Sage after all that I’ve endured during this year. My lil blessing that I prayed for have gone through so much with me. I have a lot of past traumas that I still carry with me that I’m still unlearning and it’s hard sometimes to let go of that control.. it’s hard to accept that a man can really love you wholeheartedly, unapologetically, authentically, and most importantly vulnerability. Because it’s so unheard of I sometimes create these scenarios in my head and allow these thoughts to run my mind that it eventually starts to fuck with my mental.. I recognize that I subconsciously push that on the man who supports and love me most. Because I been hurt so deep in my past that it’s hard sometimes to keep those insecurities out.. sometimes it seeks in. Then I’m reminded when I look at these pictures that my husband took of me. #MaternityPhotoShoots do not have to be expensive.. #MyHusbae shot this with his #shotoniphone and this dress I #HandSewn So a fun fact.. I have so many trades one that I actually hate is sewing. I know how to work A #Juki #singersewingmachine and every brand #Serger at the age of 14-15 I use to have to go with my mom to the sewing factory and help her sew clothes I did it untill I was 17 years old, sewing actually makes me cringe the sound of it brings back terrible memories of “Chores” I didn’t have the normal childhood. I had to help my mother. Every pocket serge then sewn on to a pant I would get .05 for talk about child labor haha but it def gave me the skills to do things that a seamstress would charge an arm and leg for. Fast fwd.. purchased all these imported cultural silk fabric values at over $200 not including the jewelry and I had a vision. I in fact had designed my entire family photo but as the months progress I had no motivations I went from being excited to no longer wanting anything to do with a photo shoot. My husband manage to boost some energy into me and in less than 24hrs I decided to design and hand sew my #MaternityDress and he would be my photographer. Thank God for his patience because when I take pictures I like things a certain way especially lighting! We are counting down... It's almost time. I want to thank my husband for surprising me with a spa day earlier in the week this Monday at the Ritz. It 100% helped my energy and recent fatigue come to a balance that later that evening, I felt compelled to design my dress until 3a that next morning. The very next day went to get a manny and peddy again thanks to my dreamy of a man.
