One of my favorite tiktok niches that was created by people so bored theyāre barely alive is that thereās a whole diet soda community where they believe everything you do greatly effects the way diet soda tastes and there are very specific methods of serving it to make sure you get the right flavor as if itās an expensive steak or something. but the best part is they believe how long you leave it in the fridge is the most important part in all of it, which they call, āmarinatingā
i checked this out because i found it almost impossible to believe but its true at least for this one lady
Protection of property and prevention of theft have never been a priority for police. Even when they do show up hours after you've called to report a robbery, their response is generally, "well, what do you want me to do about it?"
People talk about defunding the police like society will suddenly devolve into lawless chaos, but what exactly do cops do besides hand out tickets and escalate situations they're meant to defuse?
Remember kids.
The police are only there to keep the working class in line!
since polygraphs arenāt admissible in court because theyāre nonsense junk science, a primary purpose they serve in interrogations is essentially using them as a prop to ramp up the pressure on a suspect. itās all a big performance and no one should ever submit to one if they have the option not to
Also since cops can lie to you during interrogations about anything that isnāt directly about the law (never agree to interrogation without a lawyer) a fun thing they often do is administer a polygraph and then proceed to inform the suspect that the test says they are being deceptive even when the machine says otherwise. So yeah their function is entirely as an intimidation tactic
So you know NONE of this is common knowledge among Americans, right? Weāre pretty much led to believe that they ARE reliable and ARE admissible in court.
And while some of us know theyāre not reliable, most people think, this being the fucking US and all, that they are admissible regardless.
This is going to be news to a lot of people, and good news at that.
Very pleased with the effort by the South African team. I'm too scared to hope that anything effectual will come of this, but it's important that there was a cohesive, honest, and powerful argument and timeline with extensive documentation put forth to the world, even if the world rejects it. The last couple of months were a whole lot of passive voice and insultingly vague headlines that it's truly a comfort to see a straightforward accusation.
If we lose this case then it is proof that the world does not care about justice. It will be proof that the United Nations is useless and a failure. It will be proof that humanity has lost its sense of moral right and wrong. There nothing that can justify any action committed against the people of Palestinian over the past 96 day and nearly 76 years of occupation.
May Allah protect us all
Update: The South African lawyers have sent a notice to the US government stating that they aim to hold the US accountable for their aiding, abetting and supporting Israel in international crimes against Palestinians.
I'm so proud to be South African rn and I'm so proud of the team representing us.
A little advice from someone studying extremist groups: if youāre in a social media environment where the daily ubiquitous message is that you have no hope of any kind of future and you canāt possibly achieve anything without a violent overthrow of society, youāre being radicalized, and not in the good way.
If the solution to your problems sounds like āwe need a blank slateā itās a lie. There are no blank slates, and the closest approximation people can generally imagine is āburn it all down and let God/fate/history sort it outā.
Thatās not problem solving. Itās barely catharsis, in practice. It doesnāt just create more problems than it solves, it destroys more solutions than it creates.
Put the apocalypse down, and back away slowly.
Real solutions to complex, systemic problems are not so easily reduced to āus good, them evil; kill them.ā

is this orange or yellow.
its yellow you are all wrong i have decided just now
hey op, what does this say?
nice try but iām not colorblind it says 71
Am I tripping?
Is that not 71?
Youāre slightly colorblind, that is 74 and the color of the car is orange.
world heritage post
Itās orange
itās literally 71
Bestie itās 74
Yāall it clearly fucking says 21
where are you getting that from?
Babes itās 81 what r yall seeing
its 74 bestie you might be colorblind
That 81 person can see shrimp colors
I took exactly the same image, increased the saturation, and shifted it to a part of the spectrum most people can see better.
For all your no-YOU-have-the-weird-color-vision argument-solving needs.
Also, the car is orange.
Posting this in case anyone is color blind and doesnāt know it lmao

āfun fact: as a DV survivor i cannot register to vote because doing so makes my address public. anyone who is fleeing or hiding from an abuser is automatically disenfranchised from the political process and this is a feature, not a bugā]
I donāt know of the original poster might not be aware
but!
if youāve been a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, you can enroll into the address confidentiality program (free of cost!) and be registered to vote as an absentee voter and your name and address will not be made available for the public
it is super easy to get enrolled - the application takes like 5 minutes, but it has to be with someone who is certified to do it (most likely an advocate! try going to a family justice center in your area or calling the Attorney Generals office in your area!!!!)
ALSO :Ā
you donāt need to have any police reports or have a protection order to qualify!!! you just have to sign stating that youāve been a victim of one of the aforementioned crimes.

He used to be fine. He was better than fine. He was great. He was my dad. Then about four years ago, he⦠started acting strange. Erratic, forgetful, saying all this weird shit. My mom took him to a bunch of doctors, and they put him on medication. But that just made it worse. He got more confused. Then he got angry. And then he got⦠physical. That was it. That was the last straw. They put him away. And she divorced him⦠without him even realizing it. Thatās why she wants a whole new life. And itās easy to just stash me away in boarding school. Like half of us are just stashed away there. And I get it. She never has to look at me. Because maybe when she looks at me, she⦠she sees him. Maybe sheās right. I canāt keep it together. I lie. I steal. I piss people off. I donāt have any friends, real friends. Iāll probably get kicked out of Barton too. And when I do, itāll be my own fault. Get sent to Fork Union and maybe to youknowwhere. And nobody will care. The funny thing is⦠I wanted to see him so bad this whole time. But I also didnāt, you know? Because Iām afraid thatās whatās going to happen to me one day.
