it's true that simply killing billionaires would not fix problems inherent to capitalism but elon musk? you can't tell me things wouldn't be at least slightly more bearable
posts that aged VERY well

Reblog if you are a fitblr who has had to start their journey over more than once
I want to show people who are new to this that it is okay to fail and that doesnât define you.
I donât really see it as starting over and I donât think itâs a particularly healthy mindset. Youâre not âstarting overâ cause every time you get back in the gym, on the roads etc. you bring your experience with you. Techniques youâve learned, muscle memory for building muscle and stretching, a knowledge of how far you can push yourself. You never really start over, you just get back to being active regularly.
Besides, not keeping up with a new habit is not failing. It is normal. Building new habits is hard! But keeping the habit going gets easier for every time you try (wether itâs running, quitting smoking etc).
Me: "I need some serotonin."
Husband: Stands up.
Husband: Sits back down.
Hisband: "I didn't remember what serotonin was until after I stood up so I was deadass about to go get you some."
Hes a little confused, but hes got the spirit
If that didn't cause a release of dopamine, though, I'll be damned. That's some good love.
Itâs frustrating how difficult depression makes losing weight. I am in the middle of a depressive episode right now and depression has stolen ALL of my motivation. Motivation to eat, shower, to even leave the house enough just to walk my dog. Let alone the energy I need to drag myself to the gym.
And I hate myself a lot more than usual in these dark episodes, so of course my relationship with my physical body is not great. I hate the way a look, every inch of me thatbhad extra weight or fat on it is making my skin crawl.
So. Not in a great place right now. But I will get past this. Every dark period passes eventually. Just trying to stay sane while I ride it out
Do u ever think about how dogs, who have 2 colour receptors, see an apple as grayish yellow, while humans have 3 and see it as red, and mantis shrimp have 12, and see it another monstrous colour altogether?
How none of us are necessarily correct, and the apple itself, is not really any colour, itâs just a fruit minding its own goddamn business??
Fucking fascinating
We donât know how ANYTHING TASTES, SOUNDS, LOOKS, FEELS, OR SMELLS
If you think about it just a bit too much like I did, you'll reach the conclusion that nothing really tastes, sounds, looks, feels or smells. It's just your brain's interpretation of chemical composition, vibrations, the way things reflect light, more vibrations and chemical composition again
Reality canât be proven to exist outside of our ability to perceive it through our senses but our senses canât be trusted so basically nothing is real do what you want
Today on Tumblr Accidentally Recapitulates Wittgenstein's Theory of Experiential Epistomology
Tfw you shitpost so hard you accidentally write a beautiful summary of the defining breakthrough of 20th century philosophy.
how the fuck did all of those renaissance dilettantes learn so much crap? Like they spoke 3 languages and were foremost in several branches of science, plus they wrote poetry, played the violin, and were master artists? And they still had time to be gay?Â
none of them ever did any laundry at all
The emotional and physical labor necessary to maintain the lifestyles of Renaissance and Enlightenment polymaths was shunted almost entirely to their uncredited servants, slaves, wives, and daughters.Â
Whenever we compare ourselves to the âgenius menâ of the past, and wonder why we fall so short, remember this: their intellectual capacity, energy, and freedom was because there was someone else washing the damn dishes.
Rosalind Milesâ âWho Cooked the Last Supper?â is about how women throughout history provided critical services so men could have leisure time.
Fuck
I forget that thereâs folks who havenât heard this so I always reblog.
When I need something to help me push a little harder at the gym, I just think about the current state of affairs in this country đ
If you donât respect a womanâs right to choose her reproductive destiny, unfollow me. You are wrong.
ONCE TOLD ME-
THE WORLD WAS GONNA ROLL ME!
I AINT THE SHARPEST TOOL IN THE SHED
SHE WAS LOOKIN KINDA DUMB
WITH HER FINGER AND HER THUMB
In the shape of an âLâ on her forehead
Well the years start coming and they donât stop coming
Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
Didnât make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb
So much to do so much to see
So whatâs wrong with takin the backstreets
You never know if you donât go
Youâll never shine if you donât glow
Youâre an all star
Get your game on, go play
HEY NOW
YOUâRE A ROCKSTAR
GET THE SHOW ON, GET PAID
ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD
Only shooting stars break the mold
Itâs a COOL PLACE,
And they say it gets COLDER!
YOUâRE BUNDLED UP NOW, WAIT TIL YOU GET OLDER
But the media man begs to differ, Judging by the hole in the satellite picture!
The iCe we sKaTE is getting pretty thin!
The waterâs getting warm so you might as well swim
My worldâs on FIRE đ„, how âbout yours?
So I was feeling pretty down about all the work I put in to my last 12-week diet only to fail at maintaining and gain back a bunch of weight. But when I decided to start the 12 week diet again, I took new âbeforeâ pics, and today I decided to compare this timeâs âbeforeâ with last timeâs.
The picture on the left is me, January 7th, 2019, the first day of my first 12-week diet. I felt horrible about myself and cried in the shower after taking the pictures because I was so uncomfortable in my skin and all of my clothes.
The picture of me on the right is July 22nd, 2019, the first day of my second 12-week diet, started after losing 15lbs on the first diet and then gaining 7lbs back. I was disappointed in my weight gain, but didnât feel quite the same disdain for my body taking these picture. I know how hard I work at the gym and how much I associate food with emotions, so taking these pictures I kept thinking âI mean it could be worseâ. Maybe thatâs not a great attitude to have about my body, but I consider it an improvement!
THEN I made this picstitch. Holy. Moly. You guys, I look GREAT. Not even âgreat by comparisonâ or âgreat for someone who ate fast food for the last 3 monthsâ. I look GREAT! Iâm glowing, Iâm evening standing more confidently, and you can see me toning up! Progress is slow, but Iâve got my WHOLE LIFE to reach my goals. This next diet is not a punishment for bad eating habits, weight gain, or going up a size in clothes. It is a celebration of my body, what I can do when I work for what I want, and another step towards my goals.
I cannot sing the praises of progress pics enough. Take them!! At every stage of your workout journey! You never have to share them with anyone! You never even have to look at them again if you donât want to!! But if youâve been working hard for a while and see the scale plateau or your lifting or running or whatever you do start to plateau and youâre feeling a little discouraged or defeated, compare your progress pics to see the body composition changes and appreciate just how far youâve come and how much your hard work has paid off!
Iâm stoked about this diet now. Letâs see how long that lasts đ
just saw bindi irwin got engaged and apparently her fiance is american. sheâs 21 and theyâve been dating for 6 years. I wonder if his family lives in aus/works in conservation because imagine just being a random 15-year-old tourist at the zoo and having a meet cute with steve irwinâs daughter lolÂ
apparently thatâs exactly how they met. bindi just happened to be giving tours the day his family visited. love is unreal. how is this not a teen romcom yet
It gets better. Terri is also American and met Steve Irwin the same way, by chance at the Australia Zoo, in 1991. Terri was devastated when he immediately offered to introduce her to his girlfriend Sue, until Steve called Sue over and a dog came bounding up.
Multi-generational love at first sight.
