4. “He yelled yeehaw and I’m not quite sure why.”
Levi paces through the halls of the hospital, looking at the signs to direct him towards Eren’s room. He had been on a business trip in the state over when he got a call from his mother-in-law that Eren had been hit by a car. Levi left immediately, taking the next flight out to make his way back as quickly as possible.
A sigh leaves his mouth when he finally finds his husband’s room and he knocks softly. He steps inside, sighing when he sees that Eren is awake and getting his vitals checked by another nurse. Levi shakes his head when he notices the cast on Eren’s leg and the brace on his wrist. There are a few cuts on his face, but nothing else major.
Levi comes to stand next to Carla and quietly asks, “How is he?”
“Well, just before you showed up, he yelled yeehaw and I’m not quite sure why,” she says through a soft chuckle. “Probably the pain medication. It’s always made him a bit strange.”
Their attention is pulled to Eren as he gasps, taking notice of Levi. “Heyyy, shouldn’t you be on a business trip or somethin’?” he asks, eyebrows pinching together in confusion. “Are you a hologram?”
“Hey, Ocean Eyes,” Levi snorts. "Shouldn’t you be at home?” he asks instead.
“I mean, I would be, but some asshat thought it was a great idea to hit me with their car. They’ve yee’d their last haw once I’m outta here.”
Levi can’t help but laugh at that, shaking his head as Carla stands. “Alright, well I think it’s time that you get some rest, sweetheart. Your father will be in later to check on you and he’ll want you to have gotten some rest.”
Eren opens his mouth to protest but Levi stops him, tapping his head gently as he says, “You can yee other people’s haw’s later, baby. Go to sleep.”
Much to Eren’s dismay, he yawns, a frown settling on his face but he doesn’t argue and allows Levi to pull the blanket over him as he grumbles, “I’ll yee your last haw.”
Levi gives Eren one more kiss to his forehead as the man closes his eyes. "We’ll see about that.”
