i think people are starting to confuse class analysis with bioessentialism. like... no not all men do this, but Men as a constructed social class do do this. that's still okay to say. that is regular material analysis of the world around us.

Next to me at the airport Chili's are a mom and her teenage daughter. The mom is on a loud phone call with her adult son whose toddler daughter recently learned to open the bread drawer and is eating copious amounts of challah bread. The daughter has one window with Google Docs open and is rephrasing an essay written by ChatGPT, which is open in a second window. The mom takes no issue with this writing method.

Across from me at the airport Chili's are a Mennonite couple who are unable to read the menu that is only accessible via a QR code.

the best analogy imo for ocd is mosquito bite. its so itchy its driving you crazy and you know scratching it will make it itch so much worse later but you need it to stop right now and scratching it feels so good and even when you dont want to scratch it and you feel like you could handle the itch you cant even stop your hand from scratching the second you stop focusing on not scratching. except ☝️ what if it was inside your brain and instead of an itch it was terrifying overwhelming distress

sometimes you will see a joke circulate within a fandom and at first it's all fun and games but then the slow and terrible realization starts to seep in that this will become in fact a widely-accepted way to read a specific situation between characters that were subject of said joke and there is nothing you can do about it but to watch the horrors unfold in real time
