-Ron aggressively trying to learn sign language to communicate with Harry and he’s so embarrassed he can’t get the hang of it at first but Harry thinks it’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for him because what are friends??

Harry, misreading hate as date: “If you wanted a date you should have said something sooner.”

-Harry signing rude things at Umbridge.

Not only is this some amazing disability headcanon, but I also really really love the fact that this AU has Harry and Lupin bonding earlier than in canon.

Umbridge has to put up not only with Harry in her classroom, but a ‘half-breed’ as well

Half of Snape’s bullying of Harry can’t happen because an adult who not only has a personal history with Harry’s parents but is also literally paid specifically to accommodate Harry’s best interests is right there to shut that shit down

The image of little Voldemort in GOF (pre-graveyard) sitting peering at muggle sign language books he forced Wormtail to fetch him and peevishly complaining that muggles not having moving pictures in this sort of book just proved they should be eliminated
