Latino-Afro latino-Black solidarity for Jason/Steph/Duke. They all grew up near the Bowery/Midtown/Park Row area. They've had similar experiences throughout life before and after becoming a bat. Harper can relate on some level, but there is still that gap in their experience given she's white. Poverty changes you indefinitely, especially when in Jason anf Stephs case their parents were bad people. No matter how good you get it, inside there a child who has seen the worst in the world. Sitting in the back of your mind. My spouse has this issue because both of his parents were in and out of jail. He feels safer talking with some friends rather than others about that experience. He cant talk to a rich friend about his dad getting arrested but he can talk to the one whose dad is in jail for a double homicide.
Duke and Damian have a funky little bond. They have a love for the arts. It started when Damian asked if Duke could see stripes on humans. And when he eventually explained them out (he cant draw for shit, but he cant roughly say where they are. Along with the bioluminescents.)it becomes their weekly occurrence, usually when its ufc fight night. They sit in the den, duke watching while Dami draws. And then Damian shits on the fighters form, because this is whybthe dumbasses have Cauliflower ear. They cant dodge for shit.
Tiny bit controversial but i dont have a problem with Aion and Huntress being younger than Damian. Ideally Terry would be a little bit older than them (so no cheating on batcat like ive said before)((this doesnt add up with batman 666 i know, bc there aion is older but terry is a baby before he becomes Damian's robin.) Ive seen a few people get upset because shes always been older in her appearances. But she is still considered in possible futures, its not that big of a jump. I just want more Aion.
I want to make a longer post about this. But all the batkids love to lie to people. They border on being pathological liars. They each have their own bits and commit HARD. Jasons is of course the streets as a child. (Jason: Bruce said bend over and ill let you stay. Bruce:Jay, please stop telling people that. Its disgusting to even think about. I do not hurt my babies. ) Tims is "Yes sir/Sorry sir" whenever bruce tells him to do something. When he really pisses him off he goes "Am i allowed to eat." When someone offers him food. Dick just likes saying the most outlandish stuff as casually as he can about his past. They know how his parents died. But he was the first "Exotic" one. When he was a little kid he convinced an old racist lady they werent speaking english. Steph showed up to one as tims date and now attempts to convince people shes Bruces controversially younger wife (he started bring Selina to counteract those rumors((why do his kids keep doing this to him) Duke tells people hes bruces oldest bio kid. Damian gaslights anyone he can ("You dont see me, im not here? You havent taken your meds have you Gladys" "my names Sandy" "Sure grandma, lets get you to bed.") Cass is a good girl and doesnt participate (She specifically goes after assholes and makes threats in a sqeet voice.)
I dont have a problem with selectively mute Cass. But i also dont partially enjoy the unanimous choice that she cant even type words or say big sentences. I was traumatized via trafficking as a child so i go mute sometimes when im stressed and overwhelmed. But that doesnt hinder my communication when im not, im not everyone yes but i dont think most people resort to hieroglyphs in the form of emojis.
