yes yes Simon bit Jace and it was a little homoerotic even though they couldn’t stand each other at the time— but my favourite thing about it is that somehow quite a few characters in the tsc universe figure out what happened and none of them ever let them live it down. fantastic. the jimon biting scene is like a rite of passage in every tsc book atp.

Imagine if there was a really weird misunderstanding and the blackthorns thought that kit loved LIVVY, and thats why he left. Like theres no chance of this ever happening but think about julian gravely calling kit and ty to a 'family meeting', because they had found out "the big secret," and them paling, thinking that the family knew about the necromancy. Then just imagine the elder blackthorns proclaiming proudly that they knew kit loved livvy. They're hugging him one by one, whispering comforts, saying they understand, etc, etc, while kit's just there looking bewildered, staring at ty, whose ears have gone red. Above them, livvy's ghost is barreling across the room, laughing hysterically.

PS: Dru is in the corner choking on unshed laughter (shes too smart for this)

reading red scrolls of magic was exactly what I needed to really start to appreciate Alec. Him cluelessly chatting with Aline about Helen, worried she is judging Helen for being queer. Even speaking up about it. It’s precious. Then him being sad because he was cut off from so much of queer identity for so much of his life. So glad I finally picked this up.

Aline thinking Jace and Simon were dating also made my year.
