Introduction

This is my main project! The first book is fully drafted and I'm about a quarter of the way through drafting the second book. There's a kinda fun story behind the inspiration for this story - it's proof of how an idea can come from anything. XD

In 2023, my family took a trip to Europe. In the middle of that very exciting trip, during a random quiet moment in a hotel room, a scene flashed through my mind. A teenage girl stood next to a cobblestone wall in a city, and I think she was doing graffiti. But the most important thing about that scene was the emotions I felt seeping out. It was rough and edgy, with a touch of hopelessness. I realized this girl had been through a tough life and I wanted to figure out her story.

I began working out her story when I got home, but I was also in the middle of Tiny Explorer at the time, so I only dabbled in this project. But once Tiny Explorer was published, this became my main project and has remained such.

I'm sure the majority of the content I post on here will revolve around this story for now. I have a lot to say about it (but way more that I want to say but can't because spoilers T-T)!

Opening Lines

A particularly harsh gust of wind funneled through the alley - a sure sign that autumn had arrived and winter would not be long to follow. Aspen wrapped her tattered brown jacket tighter around her body to shield from the breeze. She watched a newspaper page flutter through the air and then plummet to the ground a few feet away. The date printed on the paper claimed it was issued the previous Thursday, and the stains splattered across the sheet were evience that it had already been on adventures throughout the city before finding its way to the alley.

I'm pleased to let you all know that I've just started writing a Countryhumans fic I've been planning since November last year :)

It's called Absolution, and it's a partially ATLA-inspired fic about a young man (Canada/Lucas Morin) who navigates/tries to overcome his trauma after escaping his abusive father. It deals a lot with his trauma and how it makes him lash out at others, and how he tries to recover even though its overwhelming and scary for him.

The reason why its ATLA-inspired is because Canada had done bad things (not gonna elaborate to avoid spoilers) to earn his father's love, and he is also trying to cope with that knowledge.

If you like characters trying their best but making mistakes, this fic is for you :)

Synopsis

To Paige, a 20-year-old and reputable troublemaker, no matter how luxurious the city-state appeared to be it was always no better than a gilded cage. Little did they know that following a mysterious arrest they'd be shoved into an even smaller, less attractive, encasing. Their sentence is a 40-year lock-up in a covert underground prison known as no more than “Inertia”, robbing everyone who enters of their sense of self down to stripping them of their own name. Paige isn’t alone, however, when they are shipped off alongside a complete stranger mistakenly tried as their accomplice named Jay. WHY YOU SHOULD READ THE DIVINE TRIALS BOOK SERIES!

What is it?

The Divine Trials is a story about connections, empathy and love. It's also a story about cool magic fights, familial trauma, and angels and demons (because they're super aesthetic). When I started writing this series I felt very alone and isolated. So, I decided to write a story where someone feeling the same way got to go on an adventure in a wondrous and intriguing world, accompanied by a cast of fun characters. This series is the result, and I hope that Enoch's story will resonate with others feeling as lonely as him. And if not his, then perhaps the journeys of those he meets along the way. After all, everyone we meet is going through a journey of their own, and the inhabitants of the Three Realms are no different.

No one is meant to be alone in this world, and if you're willing to look, you'll eventually find people that love you. You exist, so you're worthy of being loved. Though on the surface, this is a series about people facing villains, having magic battles and stopping world-ending disasters, at its core it's simply about people in pain healing through the love of those around them.

Okay, but what is it about?

In a fantasy world split into three realms, a Scribe with prophetic powers finds himself dragged into the conflicts of angels, demons and gods. Visions of danger and destruction plague the dreams of a young human named Enoch Augnium. To protect those around him, he must face off against people blessed with magic abilities; track down Remnants of the gods that existed before the world itself; and stay true to his belief that every life is worth saving.

And what about that cast of fun characters you mentioned?

To avoid clogging up your dashboard, I'll introduce the characters in a series of Meet the Cast posts! Specifically folks from the first book, The Origin of Enoch. That will obviously take some time though, so I'll also add the intros to this page here as they're created.

Wip introduction 1:

Tartaros

genre - sci-fi, dystopian

This is a re-imagining of the myth of Medusa into a dystopian world not so far of what would would become.

Living in two cities in war with eachother, Edan, a son of the leader of Tartaros Medusa, and Andi, girl living in Ashphodea, the city that used to rule over Tartaros, suddenly meet after a man that died in the first battle, suddenly winds up being alive. Andi and Edan soon discover that they are more similar than they think, and the history they know isn't so black and white.

Tartaros and Ashphodea - Tartaros and Ashphodea have been at war ever since 15 years ago Medusa and the Gorgos freed Tartaros from Ashphodeas rule. Now Tartaros is fighting daily to stay freed. Tartaros is now watched over by Gorgos and Ashphodea is ruled by the "gods" and the their goverment.

Gorgos - Depending on whose asking, to some, Gorgos are inhumane terrorists who should be killed by the common good, and to some, Gorgos are almost god line figures and heroes. In reality Gorgos are trio of Evalyn "Medusa" Roseblood, who is in charge of outside affairs, Serena "Eurydale" Darcy, who is in charge for internal affairs, and Milo "Stheno" Henriksson, who invents something every day to make life easier for people of Tartaros.

Narrators

Edan Roseblood - rebel son of Medusa. 14 year old. He thinks he is a bad ass rule breaker but he freezes every time he sees his mom. He is best friends with Sonia, Stheno's niece who he conciders her sister.

Andi Ruiz -16 year old girl from Ashphodea. Andi is very quiet and reserved. She lives with her fairly overbearing mother who is the assistant to one of the most influential people in Ashphodea, Louis Braun aka Perseus. Even tough Andi is shy, her curiosity, especially towards Tartaros, makes her do things she usually wouldn't do.

Other main characters

Evalyn "Medusa" Roseblood - Evalyn was just 18 whe she became the "hero of Tartaros" which has taken a toll of her mental health. She tries her best to juggle beibg a good mother to her son, good leader to her city and a good spouse to her wife, which is sometimes hard.

Serena "Eurydale" Darcy - Serena tries her best help her wife to lead. She isn't fond of fighting so usually tries to talk first before fighting. She teaches the kids of Tartaros.

Milo "Stheno" Henriksson - Sonia's uncle. Milo is a person who has gone through a lot in his life but he still tries to keep smiling. He is a brilliant inventor whose inventions are keeping Tartaros alive.

Sonia Henriksson - Edan's best friend and "sister". Even tough Edan and Sonia have 4 year age difference, they are always together. Edan is even one of the few who know sign language. Sonia is a brilliant fighter who wants to go with her uncles footsteps.

Louis "Perseus" Braun - Higher official in Ashphodea's goverment just right below "the gods". Louis is charismatic person who could do anything for his people, even some things he isn't that proud of.

I have written this story ever since I was 15. Now, after I have written the first book in my own language, I want it to be somewhere people could read it. So, I have started translating it into english and putting it on Wattpad.
