for those struggling between two types, i suggest taking a cognitive functions test. i took two (one on idr labs, and another on sociotypes) about three years ago, and i found out my ni and ne are my top two functions (though ni was definitely stronger), followed by fe and and then fi. this is why i struggled deciding between infj and infp for my type; my top functions matched those of infj AND infp. i think this may be because i've been surrounded by so many ne users in my life (female entp cousin, female enfp cousin, female enfp best friend, TWO male enfp best friends, and a male enfp brother), i'd been used to using ne and fi when i was with them and it eventually worked its way into the way my mind works. not sure if this is true but it's all my mind can come up with right now.
so PLEASE take a couple reliable cognitive functions tests to accurately type yourself!

Have you taken this test? At Neojungian Academy, we have developed what could be the most accurate personality related test available online! This test measures your 8 intelligences, and will tell you a lot about yourself. What do you think about it? Did it fit your personality type?
Not sure if you got this ask or not since my computer froze. Hi! I was wondering about something. I am an INFJ and when I take a cognetive function test I score Ni, Fe and Si as excellent use while Ne gets good use, Ti and Fi gets average use and Te and Se gets limited use. I was wondering if you could explain this for me? I just don't get how Si is in excellent use while the Se is so limited. If you want more information to go on just ask :) Thank you :D
Ok! I got your message! Well, I have never taken the functions test, so I’m not really familiar with it. There are a variety of reasons you could have gotten this score. 1. The test has inaccuracies like any other test- Some attributes of a function can be related to other functions as well. For instance both Ni and Si are both known for predicting the future, but in different ways. The test may or may not take those kinds of things in account. 2. MBTI and cognitive functions are theory based and are not solid rules. There are many reasons a certain type will not use their functions all in the right way and right order. 3. Life doesn’t revolve around functions, lol. We are who we are and do what we do, our moods, personality, and past all affect how you might have responded to the test. Also, everyone uses all the functions anyway. 4. You have yourself typed wrong, but their really isn’t necessarily evidence for that since the order your functions came out is kinda random.
So why so much Si?!?!? I don’t have a straight answer, but if my followers have any idea, they are welcome to input their thoughts~
It would make sense that Se is lower because it is your inferior function, and the inferior functions are tricky.
Hey, does anyone know a good cognitive functions test that doesn’t make you select a gender at the beginning? I’ve been linking people to the one that does, but I didn’t realize that it was mandatory, and it only allows you to choose between male and female, and I was just wondering if there was any that were inclusive of other gender identities (or just left gender completely out of it....I’m not even sure how it would influence your score anyways).
So, if there is one that’s good could you please link me to it?
Have you already selected your two most dominant cognitive functions yet? If not you should read part 1 of Cognitive Functions Test first: http://famous-mbti.tumblr.com/post/120895947111/cognitive-functions-test
Are you a judger or a perceiver?
One last step before you get find out your MBTI Type... Are you a judger or perceiver? By judger or perceiver I do not mean the fourth preference of your MBTI Type, but rather if you process information first or observe information first.
Judger
A judger processes information first before observing them. Judgers don’t like to be standing still and doing nothing. They prefer to be doing something whether it is physical or mental. They have a strong preference for either Thinking or Feeling and usually don’t understand the other one, while their perceiving functions are more balanced. They value inner or outer structure.
Perceiver
A perceiver observes information first before processing them. Perceivers don’t like to be constantly stressed out and having no spare time. They prefer to be observing things and go with the flow. They have a strong preference for either Sensing or Intuition and usually don’t understand the other one, while their judging functions are more balanced. They value inner or outer comfort.
What is my outcome?
