I took this pic just over two years ago. I bought the Hibiki 12 for $90 and the Hibiki 17 for $140AUD. Unbelievable how much things have changed. Some stores are selling Hibiki 17 for $1,400. ROBBERY! I think the beat value for money whisky out of the lot is the Masters Select. Still affordable! The Bowmore Mizunara is one of the better whiskies I have tried. It's aged in both ex-bourbon and sherry casks for atleast 20 years before spending 3 years in Mizunara. Syrupy fruity goodness, smoke and herbal notes dorn the nosing. Early dried apricot sweetness on the palate, is tempered by mild peat which twirls with insence. Wonderfuly balanced complexity. Leathery on the finish with smoke mingling with sandlewood. The one thing I don't like about this bottle? - bloody hard to take a good photo of. Thats why I am borrowing one from @bexsonn.
