How i think the camp half blood cabins smell:
𝐂𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐖𝐎: 𝐻𝑒𝑟𝑎
The children of Hera are composed, graceful, and regal. They aren't the loudest person, nor are they attention-seekers. They are often the ones others turn to without realising why. Sacred oaths are their inheritance, and justice is their native tongue.
Headcanons of how Cabins decorating a Sleepy Hypnos child's hair
Personally I believe that each Hypnos child has soft curly hair which makes it easy for other campers from other Cabins to decorate their hair out of boredom and it slowly becomes a competition between the cabins on which cabin does it the most and which style is their favorite, etc. and here's how each cabin can tell ~this was inspired by some IG reels and a post by @/clovis-enthusiast
**Side Note: I would say some staff of CHB join in to represent some gods to avoid any potential conflicts**
Cabin 1 -Zeus: gold metallic lighting bolts
Cabin 2- Hera: peacock feathers (I like to think Argus decided to represent her cabin and protect Hera's honor in a way)
Cabin 3- Poseidon: little orange starfishes (like the ones in the Aquamarine movie-2006) and seashells
Cabin 4- Demeter: wheat and flowers (they negotiated with the Aphrodite Cabin on which flowers- the ones that represent/symbolizes any type of love or have heart shapes-i.e. heart shaped forget me not flowers are only for the cabin 10 and ofc both cabins have a list of which type their cabins can use)
Cabin 5- Ares: plastic sword toothpicks and mini metal spike balls (which the cabin later had to change them to those spiky porcupine balls for safety because Chiron said so)
Cabin 6- Athena: owl feathers, olive branch crown, maybe ripped up papers with favorite quotes from books
Cabin 7- Apollo: guitar string flowers, ripped up papers with poems/ music lyrics, music note paper clips
Cabin 8- Artemis: silver little stars (they only participate when they visit CHB)
Child of empty cabin
The first thing Percy noticed about Camp Half-Blood at night was how alive it felt.
Not loud, just alive. Alive in a way its feel like camp has its own pulse.
The pine trees whispered in the breeze, the lake reflected a sky crowded with stars, and somewhere in the distance someone laughed so hard they nearly fell off a cabin porch. Music drifted from the campfire, mingling with the smell of roasted meat and fresh bread. Campers wandered between cabins in loose groups, talking about training, monsters they'd fought, and plans for capture the flag.
It should have felt comforting.
Instead, Percy stood apart from it all, hands buried in the pockets of clothes that weren't his, wondering how a place could feel so full of life when all he could think about was death.
His mother's death.
The funeral had passed in a blur. It was a small funeral. There hadn't been much left to bury. There had been condolences, sympathetic smiles, adults speaking gently around him as though he might shatter if they raised their voices. Chiron had told him that he was sure Sally Jackson had been one of the brave mortals . Grover had cried harder than Percy had.
Percy hadn't cried much. Not because it didn't hurt. Hes body was nump but it wasn't the reason for it.
Because the guilt was so much bigger than the grief that there wasn't room for anything else.
Every time he closed his eyes, he saw the Minotaur charging toward them. He remembered his mother's hand pushing him away. Her voice telling him to run.
She had always protected him.
From Gabe. From monsters she pretended weren't real.from every impossible thing that had crawled out of nightmares. From questions about his father. From his own foolish self.
She had carried every burden so he wouldn't have to. She had spent twelve years protecting him.
And then she'd finally run out of time..
And in the end...
She had died protecting him one last time.
If Percy had never been born, she would still be alive.
The thought rooted itself so deeply in his heart that he couldn't imagine ever pulling it free.
He had only been at camp for a few days.
No one had claimed him.
Campers occasionally glanced toward him with quiet curiosity before remembering not to ask questions. Being unclaimed wasn't unusual, Hermes cabin was full of kids like that, but there was something different about the newest arrival. Maybe it was the way Percy always looked over his shoulder, as though expecting someone who would never come.
Or maybe it was the emptiness that seemed to follow him everywhere.
Luke had tried talking to him. Annabeth had tried explaining camp traditions. Even Grover hovered nearby whenever he could. Percy was sure guilt was eating him to, just not same like his but he couldt bring himself to care at this point.
Percy appreciated it. Dont get him wrong.
He simply didn't have enough of himself left to respond.
By sunset, everyone gathered at the dining pavilion.
Long wooden tables stretched beneath the open sky, each belonging to a different cabin. Laughter rolled back and forth between them, interrupted only by playful arguments and the occasional threat of a food fight.
Percy sat at the Hermes table with the other unclaimed campers.
Someone placed a plate in front of him.
Roasted chicken, corn, fresh bread, apple slices. Noting fancy but warm no less.
His stomach twisted. His mother would have loved this place.
She would have smiled seeing him somewhere safe.
Safe.
Percy hated that word.
Safe for him.
Not for Mom.
Never for Mom. She died without even knowing if he made it to the safety.
The thought nearly made him leave. He didnt have right to be Safe.
When dinner ended, nobody rushed away. Instead, the atmosphere shifted into something almost ceremonial.
Campers stood, each saving the best portion of their meal.
Percy frowned as he watched them line up before the great bonfire at the edge of the pavilion.
"What are they doing?" he asked quietly.
Luke looked over his shoulder.
"Making offerings."
"Offerings?"
"To our parents."
The answer landed heavily.
Parents. The word still hurt. Luke continued, unaware.
"You give the best part of your meal. It's tradition."
Percy watched a girl from the Athena cabin place a piece of fresh bread into the flames.
"For my mother."
The fire leaped.
Next came an Apollo camper. Then Ares. Then Demeter. Each offering was accompanied by a quiet prayer.
A whispered thank you. A request for guidance. A moment between child and god.
Percy remained seated. He had no line to join.
Luke noticed after a minute
"You coming?"
Percy looked down at his untouched bread.
"I... don't know who my parent is."
"Oh." Luke scratched the back of his neck.
"Right."
Before either of them could say anything else, a camper from the Aphrodite table overheard.
"If you're unclaimed," she offered kindly, "you can always dedicate it to another god."
"Yeah," another camper added. "Some people offer to Hestia. She accepts offerings from everyone."
Someone else shrugged.
"Or whoever you think deserves one."
The conversation moved on almost immediately.
To everyone else, it was simple advice.
To Percy...
It became a question he couldn't stop thinking about.
Who deserved thanks?
His mother deserved everything.
But she couldn't receive offerings anymore.
Not his father.
Whoever he was.
Not the gods who had allowed monsters to hunt children.
Certainly not fates.
His fingers curled around the piece of bread.
There was only one deity he could think of.
Percy approached the brazier after the others had stepped away.
The fire crackled softly, its golden light dancing across his face.
He hesitated.
He didn't know much about the Olympians. Only scattered stories his mother had once read aloud.
He remembered one thing.
Hera watched over marriage.
Families.
Mothers.
If there was anyone who understood what it meant to lose one...If there was one goddess who might understand...
Maybe...
Maybe it would be her.
He dropped the bread into the flames.
The offering disappeared almost immediately.
Percy lowered his head.
He didn't speak aloud.
He couldn't. Not whene his voice was treathining to give up. The words stayed locked inside his thoughts.
'Lady Hera...'
The title felt awkward. He wasn't even sure if he was allowed to do it.
Unfamiliar.
I don't know if you're listening.
I don't know if this is how you're supposed to pray
I don't even know if I'm supposed to.'
His hands trembled.
'I just... didn't know who else to ask.'
The fire crackled gently.
'I'm sorry.'
His throat tightened painfully.
His throat tightened.
'...I'm sorry...'
'I'm sorry my mom died because of me. She kept protecting me. She kept smiling. She kept telling me everything would be okay. And then monsters came because they wanted me.'
A tear rolled silently down his cheek.
'If I hadn't existed...
She'd still be alive.'
His breathing became uneven.
'You watch over moms right ?'
'Please...Please forgive me for hurting mine.'
The words hurt more than he expected.
'She deserved a better son.'
He swallowed hard.
'If she's in the Underworld...Please tell her I'm sorry.Tell her I never wanted any of this.'
'Tell her...'
His thoughts fractured.
'Tell her that...I love her.'
Silence answered him.
Only the steady rhythm of burning wood.
Percy remained there for another moment before quietly stepping away.
Nothing happened.
No sign. No blessing. No awnser. No voice.
He hadn't expected one.
Up in the sky, Far above the mortal world, another sacred flame flickered.
The Queen of Olympus paused
Videogame night at Camp Half-Blood
How I imagine the cabins playing videogames in the Big House:
I'm going to skip cabin cabin 2 (duh)
🌱Once a son of Demeter didn't choose the grass-type starter in Pokémon. His siblings are still resentful
🌱Cabin 4's biggest fear is facing a fire-type gym leader
🌱They also play Pikmin
⚔️As you can imagine, cabin 5 is very competitive
⚔️They say they have strategies for choosing their Mortal Kombat characters, but in reality they only choose them based on their appearance
🦉Annabeth and the rest of cabin 6 show their creative Minecraft worlds to the rest of the campers because they are rlly proud
🌊I imagine Poseidon's cabin (AKA just Percy) also playing Minecraft, building mega aquariums for axolotls or things like that
☀️Cabin 7 loves Just Dance
☀️They ALWAYS compete with the rest of the cabins
☀️🌕They once challenged the Hunters of Artemis (for some reason the image of the Hunters losing in Just Dance seems incredibly funny to me)
🔥I can't think of many things for cabin 9 tbh
🔥I guess they enjoy any videogame
🔥Or maybe they enjoy disassembling and remodeling the console more
😘I imagine that cabin 10 enjoys designing MII characters more than playing
😘Although they sometimes play Overcooked (there is a lot of yelling and hair pulling)
⚚Cabin 11 enjoys Mario Party-type minigames
⚚Or also games that involve racing
🍷Dionysus' cabin loves Cooking Mama
🍷Mr. D likes playing Princess Peach Showtime
💀In cabin 13 there's only Nico
💀I can imagine him playing Blazing Beaks with Will
🌩I think the children of Zeus are into typical Mario games or also airplane games
🌈Cabin 14 loves Slime Rancher. Although they sometimes get stressed playing
🌈Oh, if you could hear their screams when the music of the Tarr starts playing
🌈They suck at Mario Kart, unless they're playing Rainbow Road
😴Hypnos' cabin always surrenders mid-game
😴"Nah, this is boring, I'm tired, can someone finish for me?"
⚖️Cabin 16 plays Splatoon
⚖️They enjoy seeing their color spread over the opposite team’s color
⚖️They also yell sometimes
🏆Cabin 17 plays ANYTHING to prove that they are the best
👶Cabin 18 plays My friend, Peppa Pig
👶Also the Paw Patrol videogame
👶But not in an "immature little kid" way, they take playing these games very seriously
🍀Cabin 19 enjoys casino-type videogames
🔮Cabin 20 has the ability to Avada Kedavra NPCs in Hogwarts Legacy. Nobody knows how or why; it seems like a bug that the game has when a child of Hecate plays. That’s kinda enviable
I also love imagining the gods finding out that it's videogame night and arguing on Olympus about which demigods are better
They would definitely indirectly interact with their children:
⚔️The Mario Bros character that a son of Ares was playing with once began to behave as if it had obtained 10 super stars. In the corner of the screen, there was a message that said "power up: Ares' blessing"
🦉In the chat of the Minecraft worlds of cabin 6, a strange player called "Plls_Athie" sends messages:
🦉"Oooh, that's nice"
🦉"I would add cobblestone blocks to the columns"
🌈Once, in Slime Rancher's "Range Exchange" trading system, a character named "Siri ROFL" offered 60 gold plorts in exchange for a carrot and a pogofruit
🍀The gods forbade Tyche from helping her children (obviously), although they continue to have suspicious success in games that involve chance
🔮Hecate might cast some Mist over the eyes of her children's opponents when they play Mario Kart, just to confuse them a little
Can you do a cabin 2 moodboard?
Cabin 2 🦚

start to cry
But I m a cold hearted
Uptight bitch when
I keep it inside 》
Hera should really have had a handmaiden or something at camp half-blood. With how often Hera gets a bad name, Hera really needs someone at camp to demonstrate the good side of her. Because just like all the gods, she's multifaceted. I personally don't always like Hera (she reminds me of my cruel and judgemental maternal grandmother, who stopped talking to us after badmouthing my dad and calling him a failure of a father and husband), but I recognise she can't always be like that. She's surely got a softer side. If she represents motherhood, surely she represents all forms of motherhood too (including the positive examples)? Idk, but I feel like a handmaiden would help us remember that she's got a good side and a bad side.
Can someone please tell Hera to stop leaving complaints, her cabin has finally been renovated.
