Batfam Headcanons (6 of 6 already)

Prepare thyselves it is a long one.

Kate Kane is the fun lesbian aunt of the batfamily.

Steph once bedazzled Tim’s sunglasses while he was catnapping and he wore them to an interview by accident.

Wonder woman is Jason’s literal god mother - Long story ok so Bruce lost a bet to Clark (kind of on purpose) Clark bet him while the two of them were trapped as batman and superman on an alien deathplanet that they’d be home in time for the Daily Planet interview Bruce had planned with Lois. The stakes of this bet? The right to be his new kid whatshisface’s godfather because at that point it seemed like bruce was only ever going to adopt and Clark as best friend should have the chance to be god father to at least one of his two kids oh my god Bruce.

And bruce wasn’t entirely against having Clark as Jason’s godfather so this was a nice way of still being able to pretend to be begrudging about it.

although the two never really got much of a chance to bond unfortunately, mostly due to heavy work schedules. But jay did save his life from Mongul that time at the Fortress of solitude (superman annual 11 - for the man who has everything).

Diana didn’t understand the concept of Godparents at first but Bruce explained it to her as ‘usually a close friend of the parent, someone they respect and can trust with their child should something ever happen to them.’

This of course inexplicably escalated to a group battle for the right to be a fellow justice leaguer’s kid’s godparent.

Diana has through this dueling method fought and won the honour of becoming the rightful god mother to many of the founding JLA member’s kids. (Including Tim, Cassandra and Duke.)

Dinah (The Black Canary) won the year of Stephanie Brown and Connor Kent.

There were some very random match ups as a result of the honour JLA godparent Gauntlet : Arthur /Aquaman is godfather to Connor kent and to Wally West and to Cassie Lockheart. Barry/Flash is godfather to Tim Drake and Roy Harper. Weird match ups happened ok. But it usually worked out. 

This all came to a very sudden end when Hal Jordan the Green Lantern emotionally guilted Clark into sitting out for a while to give someone else a chance at being bats kids’ godfather. 

Hal of course wanted to become God Father to as many as B’s kids as possible so he could lord it over him and argue with his parenting decisions, possibly while saying things like ‘i’m kind of their father too bats’ ‘i know what’s best for my kids!’ or take it as an excuse to march into the manor at not-good moments in Bruce’s day to ‘visit his god children’

Batdad of course, was onto him. Bruce entered himself in the fighting gauntlet disguised as one of the other heroes. Obviously there were cries of “you can’t be your own child’s godfather Bruce!” but those came later after he won. And it wasn’t technically against the rules. He knew this because he helped Diana make the rules.

And that my friends is the reason why Cassandra Cain’s godfather is not Hal Jordan.

After that, entering as your own kids potential victorious godparent was provisionally made forbidden but bruce wasn’t having the threat of Hal becoming any kind of parent to a single one of his kids looming over his family so he debated with the others for several hours calling the whole thing childish and a waste of time, stated that it was restricting one of the most important aspects of the whole godparent thing - the fact that the parent got to choose.

 Of course the whole thing was set up on the premise that any of the justice leaguers would be fine with any of the other justice leaguers becoming their kids godparents but whatever

The system was done away with

Clark still made Bruce his son Jonathan Kent Jr’s godfather

Diana is still a popular choice for God parent whenever someone gets a new sidekick.

Hal always sends all of Bruce’s kids Green Lantern themed merchandise (like mugs and t shirts and shit) at Christmas and on birthdays and stuff so that Bruce has to endure the priceless annoyance of having the stuff in his own home.

How does Iroh feel about the word 'honor'?

Bolin: He uses it way more than he thinks. Like almost all the time. It's always "honour" this and "honour" that blah blah blah. I think firebenders and Fire Nation culture depend a lot on honour so it makes sense I guess. But Mako doesn't say honour half as much as Roh does.
