It is a common fact that in RotTMNT Raph, Donnie, and Leo's turtle species are cannibalistic. And I've seen the headcanon that up until a certain age they kept trying to eat each other.
But the idea I love is that Mikey was the only one who ever tried to munch on his brothers.
Just imagine new-father Splinter researching his kids species and learning basic facts, then freaking out that three of of his sons might try to eat the others.
Only for the one that wasn't supposed to be cannibalistic to continuously bite or gnaw the others.
Up until he's 7 Mikey doesn't stop trying to bite or lightly-chew his brothers.
One of the most memorable incidents was just after Mikey learned to talk:
Tot Raph, with tears in his eyes: DADDY! MIKEY BIT ME!
Splinter, exhausted: Orange, why did you bite your brother?
Tot Mikey, while standing in the darkest part of the room, starts smiling: He was yummy.
Tot Raph, terrified: *starts sobbing*
Splinter, scoldingly: ORANGE!
Tot Donnie and Leo: *Also start sobbing*
Splinter, surrounded by three crying kids and one slightly-cannibalistic toddler: *Sighs and starts comforting Raph, Donnie, and Leo*
After a few years with no cannibalism attempts, Splinter figured he didn't have to keep his eyes on the turtles 24/7 without one of them eating each other.
Slowly going insane at the fact I can't think of chapters here's something random maybe it's a abandoned drafted chapter of my Reincarnated Celine AU pre-canon movie
———
Hak— ack—!
Celine heaved as she spat out the blood from her throat while doubled over, almost stopping her breathing if she was fully alive.
She couldn't see properly (why why why there's too many remove it remove it—), it was difficult to see when you had to stop yourself from eating more demon flesh, and accidentally copying demon features.
"Hgk—hh.." Celine wheezed and coughed, oh, she did not like the fact that it got stuck in her throat.
"Eomma?" A small little voice called out behind her. "Are you— are you okay?"
No I just blacked out then fucking ate a demon from pure rage.
"I—" She heaved again, spitting out a bone (how the fuck—?). "I am alright, Rumi-ya. Go back to sleep." She mumbled out as clear as she could.
Her cub kit child ward? daughter Rumi always checked on her when this.. situation happens. She can eat anything, she swears, it's just that her tastebuds are complete shit and her dead human brain still remembers that EATING DEMONS ARE BAD.
Maybe she should search up what was safe to eat in a human body, even though she eats demons. Demons ahev similar proportions to humans most of the time. Rumi was becoming used to this and Celine did not like that one bit.
Rumi shook her head, nervousness across her face.
Celine sighed. "Rumi-ya, you have school tomorr— HGK—" She gagged and vomitted on the trash can again, clutching the edges in pure desperation.
Rumi scrambled towards her and pulled back her hair carefully as she vomitted, looking like she wanted to cry.
Well, fuck, ain't she just a bad mother? She's exactly what she read in multiple— OH FUCK OFF GWI-MA, THOSE WERE FANFICS!
———
Eomma had always had an appetite, Rumi can say that much. She herself also had an appetite like her eomma Celine.
But her eomma sometimes acts strange, sometimes she would eat nothing for a week, and then all of a sudden she would only eat meat and only meat. Junk food if lucky. Mostly nothing, though.
Rumi didn't... like that at all. She didn't like that eomma was basically randomizing her stomach, she swears she just saw her mom eat a whole pebble.
A pebble.
Her eomma doesn't take care of herself well, even though she takes care of Rumi.
Her eomma mostly spends her money on everything Rumi wants, which is great for her, but she's worried eomma's forgetting she needs to eat and drink.
She never saw her eomma sleep, maybe she's a vampire? Eomma has sharp teeth and subtle claws just like her but her ears are less obviously pointy. And she's pale like a vampire.
But vampires sleep (in coffins??? There isn't a coffin or a casket), and they hate the sun and need blood. Eomma goes into the sun.
Eomma doesn't take care of herself. She's vomitting and bleeding and there's blood and she's vomitting blood mixed with bones and she knows humans can't eat bones she doesn't know what her eomma ate but it's bad for her health and she's ignoring her health Rumi doesn't like that—
(She always had to call her mom to remind her to eat in the future, every single time.)
(She doesn't know how does her mother still look extremely fit despite not eating at all, before she called her every time after debut.)
(She doesn't ask what she sometimes eat, it looks like she lost appetite despite eating anything put on her plate.)
Eddie stared at Wayne, Wayne stared back, for several long moments neither one blinked but Eddie was human and so eventually he had to.
"Arg, remind me not to get into staring contests with Eldritch beings!" Eddie yelled as he rubbed his watery eyes.
"You never once won a staring contest with me boy, no reason to start now." Wayne said with a shrug, "You want coffee, Steve?"
"You're not mad at me for telling Eddie?" Steve asked, nervously.
"Surprised it took so long." Wayne handed Steve a mug, all of them had been replaced with the new two bedroom trailer.
Steve also knew that several soldiers had gone missing when they insulted Eddie in Wayne's presence, Steve had claimed he'd overheard them talking so he'd eaten them, which had the confronting soldiers cringing back and Owens blanching and making a quick escape.
"It wasn't my secret to tell, but he needs to know what being Mated to one of us means." Steve said, holding his mug in both hands.
"He is right here." Eddie reinserted himself into the conversation, "And I know what I'm getting into, Steve told me about spawning."
Wayne looked at Eddie and then at Steve, "How much did you tell him about spawning?"
Steve blushed, "As much as I know."
Wayne stared at him and then sighed, "Settle in, the both of you, we've got a long night ahead."
Because Wayne knew just how much about Spawning Steve knew or more exactly how little he knew. Spawning alone was different than Spawning with a Mate, and with the species difference, well, there were reasons that Wayne had yet to Spawn himself, and it wasn't just Eddie appearing on his doorstep.
As Eddie's adult he had a duty to prepare him, as the last Adult of his kind he had a duty to Steve too.
For all that Steve had killed their race he was, in fact, still considered a child of their race, not much older than those kids he'd claimed as his, if Wayne wasn't slightly afraid of Steve killing him like he'd killed all the others, he'd forbid them to even think of Spawning, but Steve was dangerous, though he did not appear so and Wayne doubted Eddie's affection for him would protect him for long if he stood in Steve's way.
So, Wayne would prepare them.
Because Spawn only appeared as eggs when one parent was involved, the embryo forming inside the parent and forming the protective shell on it's journey to the outside world.
Spawn that had two parent were born live and hungry, if Steve and Eddie Spawned they would need meat, raw and the fresher the better, ready for when their babies clawed their way into the world.
Eddie would have to distract them with the meat so Steve could heal, otherwise they might feast on his flesh, they ate their own for strength, afterall.
And Wayne would not be allowed near once Steve was expecting, Steve's instincts would see him as a threat to him and the eventual young, and Wayne couldn't say he wouldn't be tempted to eat the possibly runts, it wouldn't be the first time he'd eaten the newly born, he'd eaten several of his Spawnmates when he'd clawed his way out of his birth parent and his secondary parent hadn't been quick enough to fill his belly.
Wayne didn't remember Steve's Spawning parents, it was likely they'd abandoned him early on, expecting him to die quickly, some Spawning parents would eat their defective ones but others felt the need to let the other creatures have a taste of them. It was a testament to Steve's strength that he'd survived so long on his own.
Their race wasn't kind, not even to their young.
But maybe, Wayne thought as he looked at a waiting Steve and a trying to escape Eddie, he could change that, or at least Steve and Eddie could.

Summary: Caine survived the FAYZ, and he realizes he can never go home. He talks to Sam about it while they're still in the hospital.

READ ON AO3
Caine carried his shame with him as he walked to Sam’s hospital room under the watchful eyes of nurses and policemen. He was allowed in, surprisingly. Sam was in bed, eating a pizza, and Caine’s mouth instantly watered at seeing it. He would never get over the novelty of food, of it being so accessible, and so diverse and delicious. There was so much of it!
He realized he’d been staring and Sam questioned, “What the hell are you doing here?”
Caine sauntered in, despite the aches in his body, and sat in the plush chair by Sam’s bed.
“Nice to see you too.”
“Look, just because you redeemed yourself or whatever, it doesn’t mean that I’m going to trust you.”
Caine winced. “That sucks, because I need a place to live.”
Sam seemed to understand this. Caine couldn’t go back home to live with his “parents,” ones who hadn’t really loved him anyway, and now that he knew his biological mother had given him up but kept Sam, he was out of options. Plus, it wasn’t like he was ever going to go back to Coates if it got reestablished. There were too many memories in that place. Memories of sin.
His eyes went back to the pizza.
Better to think about pizza than that chunk of Panda’s leg that he’d eaten.
“Well, my mom and I aren’t really getting along,” Sam said. “I think I’m going to try for emancipation.”
Caine laughed. “My parents already emancipated me. I can’t go home.”
“I don’t know how much longer I’ll be in here, but… maybe we can figure something out. I know Diana needs a home too. I heard some other kids are living together.”
Caine’s stomach dropped at the thought of Diana. What did she think of him? Was she angry he’d tried to sacrifice himself? Was she still hurting about their child-turned-alien/demon? Was he supposed to be hurting over it? Was she mad that he’d killed Gaia?
There was too much to think about, and a part of Caine wished he had managed to die in his sacrifice for Perdido Beach.
The FAYZ was over, his powers gone, but still he felt something wrong with him.
Sam held out his hand to shake. “You know what, we’ll figure something out. You and me.”
Caine shook Sam’s hand with strength, even as he said tentatively, “Are we going to try the whole brother thing?”
“If you want.”
If you want.
For some reason that stuck with Caine as he left Sam’s room. Maybe, if he worked really hard, if he did his best to not sabotage everything, then he could have a home. And who knew? Maybe he would like having a brother.
So! I wasn’t sure how to write today's prompt/yesterdays of “secret injury” or “humiliation” SO! Im not doing either! “What is your name?”
“Lewis pepper.”
“Do you have family in Texas?”
“Yes, sisters and parents, we own a restaurant in tempo.”
“Can you recall their phone numbers.”
“... I can’t.”
Lewis sits on the observation table, eyes switching from the doctor and the second observer, before landing on the doctor again.
His entire body seems to be wrapped under the paper like sheet of a hospital gown, far too short to cover himself adequately, so his hands were covering his delicates.
That didn’t particularly matter, what mattered was that his eyes were burning.
These lights were far too bright.
The physical examination went… alright.. Lewis didn’t want them to touch them, but he couldn’t resist them.
They were promising him that after that, he could go and see the other survivors.
They didn’t say whether Arthur or Vivi survived, but he wants to hope they did.
They had to.
“Lewis, other patients report that they’ve been in the building for an extended period. how long would you say you were trapped in there?”
Lewis doesn’t want to think about that place.
“... I don’t know, my watch stopped working at the beginning. But, a long time.”
“Okay…” the doctor frowns, biting her lip, “did it feel like a week, a month, a year?”
“... a year, definitely a year.”
The observer writes something on their clipboard, data, Lewis figures.
The doctor hums, and nods.
“You seem to have bonded with two other people, do you remember their names?”
Lewis shifts, leaning forward, the hair shading his eyes, “Yes. Vivi was an investigator, with blue hair and she had - she was a really good leader. The other one, Arthur, we found him later on. He’s a mechanic, has anxiety, he was really … really nice.” lewis faintly recalls how he offered to be bait, whenever he wasn’t…
Mind dulling, his memory fuzzes.
The doctor nods, the observer scribbles.
“Arthur…. out of the people you’ve mentioned, yourself included, he has the strongest amount of a bacteria. This bacteria led to episodes of temporary insanity, a zombie like state. Is this true?”
Lewis nods, and he reaches for his arm. Arthur bit him once during one of those episodes.
“We called it going feral.” He explains.
“I see. Are you aware that being in such close contact led to you and Vivi both contracting this… feral-ness?”
They both had episodes. At times.
“Yes.”
“Do you have any suspicion how he contracted it?”
Lewis swallows, retracting, eyes glued to the small dips of the wall.
“Yes… something- whatever trapped us in there.. it wanted us to kill each other. When no one did at first.. it brought guns. Then… I- I’m sorry, it’s hard to think of..”
The doctor looks to the observer, and back to him, Lewis can’t read her expression. “That’s alright Lewis, would you like to take a break?”
“.... May I see the others if we do?”
The doctor frowns and shakes her head, “Unfortunately, for right now we need to keep you all quarantined. Until we can see exactly what we can do to ensure your safety, as well as the general populous.”
Eyes stinging, Lewis shuffles back, nodding, “May we continue then?”
“Of course. Take your time Lewis, we have all day.”
Lewis swallows, and then keeps going, “We.. we think that it poisoned the water. We needed to boil water and… look for scraps to eat. Cooked anything we could thoroughly.”
The doctor blinks slowly and then asks, “By any chance, did you need to consume human flesh?”
“Once…” Lewis braces himself, memory replaying and in seconds he feels sick to his stomach. Lewis grits his teeth, gagging, “I- I need-“
They don't tell Hopper and Joyce, not right away at least because Steve is wary of the Russian they bring home, oh Steve could easily eat him and feel no guilt about it if he reacts badly but Eddie told him that he wasn't allowed to eat people.
El had amended it by saying he was allowed to eat bad people, which had led to arguments about cannabalism and the morality of it.
Steve didn't want to point out that he wasn't human so it didn't count, mostly because he really didn't want to add fuel to the fire, he was also not telling them about the fact that his kind had regularly ate one another and he'd been considered odd because he didn't hunt or eat his own kind, not even when he'd slaughtered them but it was amusing to see the arguments.
Steve doesn't mind keeping the secret, he's kept what he was hidden for so long, he's never told anyone really, they always just knew he wasn't human; wasn't right.
Even some of the people he rarely interacted with had known, stayed clear of him, some of the older folks, the ones that decended from the first ones to settle in Hawkins would even walk across the street to avoid him.
They knew he was Other, knew it down in their very bones.
Hawkins had been strange long before Brenner had opened a rift to the Down Below.
Unnatural things had been happening here since long before White Settlers had come, the natives knowing better than to linger, lest something make sure they never escaped.
No one cared to learn that the first few towns near Hawkins had vanished without so much as a bloodstain, houses left untouched, food left to rot and clothes left on the lines to dry but Steve knew, he'd known as soon as he'd crawled into this Upper World that he was not the first.
He'd be the last, of course, he would but there was another, somewhere, wandering among the mortals.
Steve had never bothered to look for them, didn't want to know them or even reveal himself to them. Part of him was afraid they'd attack him outright and Steve would really become the last of his kind, because that was not a fight he would lose, not with his family counting on him for protection.
Another part of him worried that they'd want to pair and spawn more of their own kind, raise them like they'd been raised, to hunt and eat and leave nothing but wasteland in their wake.
That had never been Steve's ideal to raise his spawn, he'd just wanted them to live, he'd wanted to raise them gentle, and loving, but life was cruel and his spawn had never broke from their cocoons.
Steve knew that they'd have to tell Joyce and Hopper eventually but right now he liked having only his kids in the know.
They were curious but their questions had less to do with what he could do, what he'd done and more to do with trying tp give him a dustpans and dinosaus name, they asked what he looked like, begged to see it with various puppy eyes that Steve forced himself to resist, if they really saw him they'd be scared.
Steve didn't want them to fear him, had never wanted to be feared at all, it was why he'd kept himself to himself in the Down Below, away from others of his kind and their expectations.
But he really should have known that his peace would not last.
Like calls to like, after all, and he should have known that he would come across the other one of his kind eventually, he had just not quite expected who the other turned out to be, but, well, it made a certain amount of sense all things considered.

Somewhat a BATIM AU Retelling, but very very derivative, especially as the first story was written in 2018.
