Mom Hack
I feel like every mom needs a Warmie. They're microwavable stuffed animals.
Little Man has this puppy one my parents got and it's great! He's been having a lot of tummy pains from gas, so I microwave this for a minute and put it on his tummy. The heat really seems to help calm him down and he usually falls asleep. You can freeze them too for bruises, sprains, or reducing fevers.
This of course doesn’t refer to things like health issues, but rather those of a social or practical nature. If they’ve been fighting with a friend, listen, offer advice, but don’t call their friend’s mom and demand they fix everything! As harsh as it may sound, our children will struggle, and at times things may even seem unbearable to them. But unless we teach them resilience, starting with little things, those tough situations will be that much harder for them to deal with.
While mitochondria being the powerhouse of the cell is an important piece of information, it doesn’t in any way help kids understand their lives nor what they’re supposed to be doing in the “real world”. Isn’t it more important to teach them how taxes work and how people and relationships function? The educational system has been favoring quantity over quality for some time now - so we shouldn’t be surprised that children these days are filled with anxiety and high expectations, often with no tools to deal with them.

With all the focus being on under- and over-performing children, those who are average - good, but not too good; not causing problems, but not shining, either - are too often overlooked, when, with the right amount of support, they have the potential for so much more. Our tutors and coaches make sure those kids are given the right level of challenge that will foster their academic and personal growth.
A lot of people shy away from getting a coach, thinking, “If I don’t know how to live my life, what good am I?” But life doesn’t come with a manual! And just like a professional tennis coach knows all the techniques and intricacies of the game because they’ve studied and practiced it, a Life Coach understands all the intricacies of life’s many struggles. There’s no shame in learning from someone who’s studied for at least eight years to be able to understand life - and people - a bit more.

My MomMe AH-HAH moment!
My MomMe AH-HAH moment!
Today I was researching a blog post for the end of the year and found the concept of life categories. Yes the term is familiar but the concept I learned was so simple I had a big ah-hah moment because I’d never thought about them the way that Dave Ramsey talks about them! What are your life categories? Are they balanced? Something to think about this year.
