y'all, how do you deal with aphobic people?
I just went through the most exhausting debate online. It was my fault, I should've just blocked all of them from the beginning.
I swear if I get one more reply, I'm deleting that comment altogether.

Vlad the Vegan Vampire - Off season - Ask the internet
Today I rolled "bird art" so I finally did a little something with the pages of my friend's Effin' Birds calendar from last year. I'm not sure what these birds are arguing about or who's winning.
Bird art isn't "done", there's lots of pages left. But I don't have a good idea of what I ultimately want these to turn into, so I did remove it from the wheel (for now).
Currently remembering the time that I watched a full one hour documentary on the dangers of lead for the sole purpose of starting an online argument on Stanley cups.
Me Reading An Online Debate/Discussion/Argument
Me (reading the first comment): They make a good point! Me (reading the second comment): Oh wait, THEY make a better point! Now I feel bad for agreeing with the first comment.... Me (reading the first person's response): Actually, yeah, their response makes complete response.... Me (reading the second person's response): Then again, so do they
Hi Zaza! I feel pretty shitty right now. I always thought I was the kind of person who wasn't triggered by anything. But i got triggered (I still don't know if this is the right word) multiple times recently from arguments online about orientations, and they turn my mind and make me feel heartless and worthless, and I take a long time to get out of that. I feel so petty and silly. They're so many ppl suffering and this is what makes me hurt? I disgust myself :(
well, a trigger is when a specific stimulus experience sets off a memory/ flashback that brings you right back to the moment when you experienced a traumatic event. like if you were abused at a park, and then you saw a picture of a park and it felt like you were right back in that place getting abused again. then that picture of the park would be your trigger. i hope that makes sense!
seeing arguments on the internet upsets you, which in turn makes you feel bad about yourself, but there’s no reason to beat yourself up for having feelings. we all have feelings, and you are allowed to feel sad on other’s ppls behalf. it’s not a competition, no ones pain is worse than another. your feelings are valid.
you said you get over it, and that’s great! so instead of turning inward and getting disgusted with yourself for having feelings-do something positive with your time. help someone, volunteer, pet a cat- do something that brings goodness into the world!
