I forgot I left the Leia book off right before she met Panaka and now my feels. Him stopping in his tracks and asking about her bio parents. And her asking if he knew General Kenobi is extra special in 2022!!!

Just… Naboo

Quarsh Panaka was captain of the Royal Naboo Security Force at the time of the Battle of Naboo and during the Clone Wars. Panaka was a good fighter, incredibly loyal to his betters, especially Sheev Palpatine. Panaka informed Palpatine of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala’s secret wedding, unknowingly handing the Sith the tool he needed to turn Skywalker to the Dark Side. After the rise of the Empire, Panaka became an Imperial Moff.

Was going through my Star Wars folder to see if I’d forgotten to post anything and found the concept art I did for @rochesterborn‘s requests.  (There’s none for Finn and Poe because I knew exactly what I wanted them to look like from the start, but for everyone else i needed some doodling and research to put me on track.)

Me and my friends were talking about star wars and we came to a conclusion

We’re pretty sure that whoever makes up names for STAR WARS is brazilian (or at least speaks portuguese). Seriously, there’s, like, so MANY names that have a double meaning in portuguese. The ones I remember without having to look up are: -Darth Maul (Maul is pronunciated more or less like “mau” which means “evil”). -Dooku (sounds like “do cú”, which is “of ass”. They changed his name to “Dookan” on Brazil). -Sifo-Dyas (“fo-Dyas” sounds like “fodias”, which comes from “foder” - in english “to fuck”. They also changed his name on Brazil, but I don’t remember what to). -Panaka (sounds like “panaca”, a slang that means “stupid”). -Endor (sounds like “em dor”, “in pain”).

Those are the ones I remember right now, but I think there were others. Me and my friends are pretty sure there’s someone in Lucasfilm, like, trying to put as many of those as they can without anyone in there nothing and giggling.

You ever think about Obi-Wan on Naboo after the duel having to be the one who takes care of everything. He's just lost his father figure and killed the first sith in a millennia and he has to be the one carry Qui-gon's body away and arrange for the funeral and make sure Anakin has a room and is eating and call the council and explain what's going on. Because sure Padme and Panaka are there but they don't know about jedi customs and they arrange for Anakin's room and board but they're busy so they can't be the ones to sit him down and gently explain what happened and promise him that everything is going to be all right and they don't even really know what that sith was let alone what he meant. do you ever think about the sheer amount of responsibility that was dropped on his shoulders the moment Qui-gon died.
