Kid!Bruce is tired of being called weird by his classmates because he's not expressive enough (or at all). It's not his fault, really, he was better at being expressive, his mom often taught him how to do proper expressions and what they are for.
But then his parents got killed and he didn't have the energy to do so for a while, and now his face just isn't used to doing it anymore. So he decided to study facial expressions and practice. And he's gonna use the person with the most on point facial expressions that he ever knows: Martha Wayne.
So he's in the tv room, studying records of old Martha interviews, trying to imitate the movements on her face and guess what they're for based on what she taught him when he was little.
Alfred found him, saw Martha on tv and then Bruce doing a strange face in the mirror. For a moment he thought the kid was about to cry... But then he noticed he was trying to smile.
And then he got it: He's trying to do Martha's socialite smile. That sugarcoated weapon that she masterly wielded it all over Gotham's high society leaving a trace of confused victims.
Alfred: Less teeth, and you need to relax your eyebrows, you look like you're suffering right now. Come, I'll show you.
