Why do demons form packs?

how do older demons act around younger demons compared human children?

How do demons that are in packs act around demons that are loners? ( the reason I ask this one in particular is because I have a Kpdh oc who was cursed to be a demon after he died but remained in the human realm though I don't know what that does to demons if they aren't around other demons for a very long time.)

Yay! Thanks for the ask! Nerding out about demons is a nice break while I do some writing! :D

1. Demons form packs because the Underworld is a hostile place. There's simply safety in numbers. As a group, there's more protection, more assurance of resources, and the benefit of having someone to commiserate with. Especially for demons that were once human, the lack of social connections in the Underworld could come as a shock to the system, on top of everything else. As a demon, it's nice to know that you're not the only one who's miserable.

Survival is the biggest thing here though. A demon in a pack will be better protected from harm. They can learn spells and tricks from others. They have a better chance of getting their hands on food. In my hc, good food doesn't exist in the Underworld, so when they first join up, Jinu brings Abby food from the human world to show his commitment to their little pack. He steals the food while on missions for Gwi-Ma or while he's on his own trips to research music, and sneaks it back to the Underworld.

2. The older demons are there to show the young ones the ropes. If they're nice enough to be bothered. Again, it's a game of survival. The oldest demons are the ones who have survived hundreds, if not thousands of years, of being in the Underworld. Not everyone makes it that long. Whether by Gwi-Ma's fire, the Hunters' blades, or another demon's hand, a lot of younger ones get snuffed out early. The older demons are also the most powerful. They've had the experience to get them where they are, and if they find a youngster that might be beneficial to them, the more willing they are to teach them and protect them.

3. I don't think pack demons will really bother with a loner demon, unless that loner becomes a threat or has something they might want or need. If there's a possible threat, the pack will be on guard. They'll close ranks, and depending on the threat, chase the loner out of their territory or fight. If that loner has something interesting and/or potentially beneficial, then it's up to the leader of the pack to decide how they want to act. The loner might be given an invite to join, or at least offered an alliance of some sort with the pack. Or, the pack might just straight up steal whatever it is the loner's got. It all depends on the temperament of the leader. Any loner would be approached with caution and suspicion first though.

As for a demon oc in a human world, it depends how familiar that oc is with the Underworld and demon culture. If he's not familiar with all the ins and outs, he might be in trouble. If he's cautious and smart about how he deals with other demons, the better off he'll be. But that's just my opinion! He's all yours and you can decide how and what he should do!

hi i love your starlight headcanons sm i and I saw you already did pearl and buffy sooooo any dinah (both of our beloveds) and ashley? if you have any about the coaches, can you share them? If not, that's totally ok.

YES!! I have a bunch for Dinah, but I have some for Ashley too :D

Dinah:

-Dinah is half-Mexican because I am and she’s my favorite character so she’s literally me❤️

-Most of them don’t really know how to spell because they never had a reason too, but a lot of the coaches learned through humans!

-Dinah’s special interest is spelling

-Dinah would have trouble speaking when she’s experiencing a lot at that moment, so Buffy and Ashley came up with a way to help her, which was spelling

-that’s why they don’t stop Dinah mid U.N.C.O.U.P.L.E.D. and go “what are you doing rn” like most people would probably do

-I think it’s also why she says “it’s okay, Greaseball, you can spell it” because she’s had Buffy/Ashley say those exact words to her many times(not with GB’a name)

-Dinah is the second youngest of the coaches(in human age she’s be like 19)

-her favorite food in the whole world is onion rings

-they can get sick if they eat too much human food, so Dinah mostly just cooks it

-I feel like Dinah is probably trans in some way but doesn’t like to correct people about it so she lets people call her whatever

-she cries very easily

-she hates loud noises a lot

-she tries to teach others to cook and bake, but since it’s unnecessary no one cares

-she hosts cooking classes every week

-only Rusty and the coaches show up

-but she’s still happy to host them regardless

-she picked up a bunch of “girly” hobbies like sewing because she felt like she was supposed to

-but she ended up really liking them!

-she likes to run/skate around as a form of stimming and it annoys people a lot because she’ll do it in the middle of the night

-she has really bad anxiety and will freak out if she cannot script our her conversations beforehand

-she is the tallest of all the coaches

Ashley:

-Ashley wasn’t originally supposed to be a smoking car, but they needed one so she was converted very quickly

-smoking doesn’t actually have any harmful effects on her, she just thinks it does because of all the anti-smoking stuff she sees from humans

-I feel like she’d be a first class smoking car

-and sometimes it would make her feel like she’s above the other coaches

-but Buffy won’t let her have an ego for too long

-she’s not the best at spelling

-Dinah will be spelling out something and Ashley won’t be able to process it fast enough to respond so she just gives a generic response and hopes it matches

-Ashley is the second tallest of all the coaches

-and she’s also the oldest(mentally), being around 25, and has been in commission the longest!
