彡 When Sasuke comes home after a few days away from you, he is definitely the type of partner to absolutely cover you with his body while the both of you sleep. Coming home late from his journey finding otsusuki links, way past midnight, so he knows his wife is bound to be asleep indefinitely. That, however, doesn't stop him from cleaning up and getting under the covers with you.
Your sprawled on your side, your leg out, you could pass as being on your stomach, but that doesn't matter right now. All your husband was concerned with was how absolutely at peace and how cute you look, snuggled up into the blanket. He lays down beside you, an arm immediately wrapping around your waist, careful not to wake you as his body presses tight against yours.
A peaceful sigh leaves your lips and you unconsciously relax in his arms. His upper leg moves over your own, his body practically mounting you at this point. Sasuke presses a soft, few chaste kisses from your jaw to your neck, relishing in the fact that he was, once again, home with you. Suddenly, you stirred softly in his arm. A confused hum leaves your throat.
"Sasuke," you mumbled, your voice thick with sleep as you were still inevitably groggy, barely even coherent. Sasuke lets out a soft hum, "Sleep," he replies and you make another soft noise as you press further back into your husband, finally relaxing knowing he is home, safe and sound.
Suddenly, you had the overwhelming urge to turn around, to feel even closer to him. You now face him, slotting your upper leg between his thighs as you press close to him, arm wrapping around his torso while he other bunches at his chest. A soft chuckle leaves his lips, "You're moving around a lot for someone who should be asleep."
You completely ignore his statement. "Kiss," you ask, pouting your lips slightly, but it wasn't a question, it was more of a demand that he couldn't say no to, not that he every would, he would never deny you. Sasuke's lips meet yours softly, now you really now this isn't a dream, your body warms up with a soft and fuzzy feeling that only he could evoke from you. "Go to sleep now," he replies, arms tightening around you.
"Love you," you say.
"I love you," he replies, only a soft smiling rising on his face realising that you've fallen asleep.

a/n: hnnngh
the first thing sasuke feels in the morning is the cool breeze coming from the balcony screen. he lets it wash over his bare chest, his eyes closed. he can hear the birds chirping—very clearly, thanks to the apartment balcony basically kissing the forest.
he opens his eyes slowly, staring up at the white ceiling. for a moment, he considers staying exactly where he is, not moving, letting the stillness linger.
it won’t last.
he knows that in 10 minutes, he's going to start feeling restless. he's going to start itching to move his body—to do something productive. that's the outcome of spending most of your life feeling like your only purpose was in your physical abilities. he can't relax anymore. unless he's with you. you've forced taught him that it's okay to not do something 24/7. it's a slow process, but he's grateful you're trying regardless.
quietly, he turns onto his side.
you're still asleep, of course. you have the day off, and it's early. 6:16, the clock reads. his eyes run over your face—the blissed out expression, your parted lips, the slight drool on the corner of your mouth. he reaches out, gently wiping it away. his eyes trail down, to your bare shoulders.
a reminder of the night before, where you'd both been consumed by an intense need for each other. he's still not used to it—feeling that way. he's spent his entire life supressing all his feelings, aside from anger and hatred, and he's been good at it. but his brain stops listening to him when it comes to you.
with a quiet exhale, he sits up, swinging his legs over the side of the bed. the sheet slides off him, leaving his skin exposed to the cold air. he grabs his boxers from the floor, pulling them on, stretching his shoulders once. the large balcony windows are slightly fogged over, and through the screen, he can smell the scent of rain. that's probably why it's chillier than usual this morning.
you wake slowly, blinking the sleep from your eyes. the first thing you register is the empty space beside you—cold where sasuke should be. the second is the temperature. goosebumps rise along your arms as you tug the comforter closer.
you turn your head to see sasuke is sitting on the edge of the bed, back to you. you're about to speak but you pause, taking a moment to really take it all in. his bare back is making you feel dizzy and you're barely even awake yet. his pale skin catching the slight early light spilling in through the blinds. there are thin lines you recognize immediately—old scars, faded but permanent, mapping a history he rarely talks about. his posture is quiet, thoughtful, like he’s been awake for a while already.
he shifts slightly, just enough for you to see the tension in his shoulders ease when he realizes you’re awake.
you sit up, dragging the comforter with you as the cold hits. moving closer, you press yourself against his back, resting your chin on his shoulder. you nuzzle into his jaw, eyes closing again.
“you’re up too early,” you mumble. he exhales, leaning back into you without thinking. “i always wake up at this time.” then, softer, “you don’t.” he tilts his head just enough to look at you. you open your eyes and kiss the corner of his mouth. “m’cold,” you say. “and you weren’t next to me.”
he sighs, turning to face you fully. “you’re not wearing anything,” he murmurs. “get back under the covers.” he stands before you can argue. you hum, bending over the side of the bed to grab one of his shirts from the floor. you pull it on and crawl back under the comforter. sasuke crosses the room and slides the balcony door shut, cutting off the breeze.
he turns back towards the bed, pausing to take in the sight of you. his gaze doesn't linger in a way that's obvious—at least, not to your sleep-addled mind. you only pat the space next to you, wanting to feel his body heat. he quietly walks back to the bed, getting under the covers.
the mattress dips under his weight as he settles back down next to you, not touching you yet. however, when he sees you instinctively inch closer, he rolls onto his side and extends his arm. you're quick to press against his bare chest, head pillowed on his bicep, letting him slide his hand under your shirt.
"i'm not warm." he whispers. you let out a distracted hum, nuzzling his neck. "you're warm enough." you decide. he just snorts, resting his cheek on your hair. "yeah, okay." he mutters. "go back to sleep."
you scoff, pulling your head back to look at him. "why would i, when we could have sex instead?"

A/N: It was a request. I couldn’t reply to you for some reason:( But thank youuuu very much for your kind words!
🍃 Kakashi
Kakashi will be in denial. He didn’t have a good relationship with his inner feelings, guarded behind impenetrable walls since he was young. Something substantial changed after losing his friends and learning that human connections are more important than following the shinobi’s world rules, to be a priority.
Yet, at first, he was thinking that his actions in protecting you, the only one remaining in his team, were only a proof of his lesson learned. Despite if that involved upsetting you for not letting you fight if wasn’t necessarily, even if catching a kunai with bare hands so it doesn’t even scratch an inch of your beautiful body, especially your face.
A beautiful woman who, after growing up enough for the hormones to be all over that place, even for the likes of him — he felt so much guilt when reading his books late at night, and flashbacks of you invaded his mind.
Kakashi was your shadow, ready to be here in any minute so he couldn’t repeat his past mistakes. After a while, you couldn’t think about yourself as delusive, asking him from time to time “Why are you protecting me?” or “How did you get here so fast?”.
Still, the last strike was confronting him after too many glasses of sake, inhibitions blurred enough to show how much your lingering, stealing gaze matched him than before when neither of you could see.
“I can’t stand it anymore, Kakashi.” He watched you, a flicker of tension could be seen between his scrunched eyebrows. “Please tell me I’m not insane. Please tell me all of these, all of what you did for me was not because I’m just a friend. Because I don’t. I don’t see you like one, Kakashi! I don’t see you like that for a while—“
As your confession started, Kakashi could feel just like a small knock turning gradually bigger, rougher against the walls inside of him until it broke so hard, so hard that the realization made him act impulsively, along with his throbbing heart. The urge was so bad that he even cut you off, your sincere words by his soft lips claiming yours in a passionate kiss so desperate, so intense that a tear painted your flushed cheeks. You barely caught your breath, stealed again by his response.
“You’re not. You’re not insane, [Name]. I apologize for my cowardice. I don’t deserve to trouble your kind soul.”
You cupped his cheeks, hands touching his mask as you spoke with a serious, yet gentle voice
“You deserve so much more. And I’m here to prove it if you let me.”
That doesn’t mean it will not be hard to do so, otherwise he wouldn’t nod in conformation too late, mostly because the fear of losing you is much bigger than his own flaws.
🍃 Itachi
Itachi’s priorities over the years didn’t led him to see the truth about what he really feels about you until late. At first, you were a member of the team along with Shisui. Despite not being in the Uchiha clan like he was, with a kind and altruistic personality, it wasn’t hard for him to get closer to you.
Actually, Itachi was curious (sometimes amused) by your constant desire to push his buttons. You weren’t part of a clan, you didn’t receive special, spectacular abilities like his Sharingan. It all came from insecurities that you didn’t belong here, at least not near a person like him that everyone knows. And it really enraged you how he was calm every damn time.
“Tell me, Uchiha. When you’ll show the world your real face, huh? Hidden by that pretty smile of yours that’s it clearly a mask?”
He was flattered by the compliment that you didn’t realize until after finishing speaking about your frustration. Itachi’s eyes flickered with surprise, a hint of a smile struggled to don’t appear, but you could see it. Immediately feeling your cheeks flush, you dismissed his presence with a wave of your hand, ready to vanish from the earth for actually saying out loud that he is pretty.
It wasn’t even clear that the bond deepened when the mission all of you were sent on, he found himself wanting to help you get out of the poisoned mind that fed you lies. Itachi was an observer most of the time so he didn’t miss how hard you trained yourself outside of the academy’s mandatory training. So, when the time comes, when the mission was successful and everyone did their best, Itachi knelt beside you.
With swollen eyes and a stuttering voice, you spoke with your head bowed.
“I failed again. Why? Why did they put me with you? Or him?” Shisui raised his hands in surrender, taking himself out of the equation in his own smooth way. “For what? To slow you down? To be a burden—“
Itachi put his hands gently on your head, his genuine words along with a serious expression made you freeze on the spot.
“You are not a burden and never were, [Name]. For all it costs, you prove yourself worthy every day for fighting your old self to be better and that’s all that matters. You are strong since I’ve met you and I’m glad I did.”
You couldn’t take your eyes from him, absorbing his words like a mantra. You hated that time to admit, but you really admired him. Still do. Wiping the tears away with your back hand, a chuckle managed to slip past your mouth.
“You and your ways of speaking.” A tease glinted in your eyes. “I’ll be stronger enough when I’ve managed to crush you in a fight, Uchiha.”
Itachi’s little smile widened, taking your hand to help you stand on your feet. “I’ll wait for that day.”
After that, your extra training now sometimes includes him too. With fights, with tears, with a will of living stronger to move mountains to be acknowledged.
Despite his loyality for Konoha, after many years of fighting for his village along with you, Itachi was pushed from behind to face what he feels since that part of him was untouched methodically, perhaps intentionally like he couldn’t think about himself first once in his life. And he could’ve help him with that? No one than his old, most important friend in his life. Shisui.
Travelling in mission wore you that night enough to admit you're tired, enough to sleep near the fire that warmed your body and soul. Enough to not hear a sound in your profound sleep.
Shisui was first to speak, indirectly how he liked it.
“She really did prove herself. That fierce attitude now helping in actual fights, huh.”
Itachi nodded, confirming what he anticipated.
“Indeed. She seems at peace with her soul.”
“But are you, dear Itachi? At peace with your soul like she is?”
Stunned by the sudden question of his camarade, he asked.
“I’m not sure I follow what you want to say.”
Shisui leaned his head back, arms under it while he was against the wooden wall in a comfortable position. The big smile on his face screamed trouble. “I’m sure you do, my friend. You’re fast with this kind of thing. Are you not?” Shisui gestured with his head to you, to your sleepy form, now with Itachi’s coat over your body.
Caught off guard by his friend, Itachi felt his cheek warmer, and this time the fire wasn’t the only reason.
“It’s not my place to trouble her with my personal feelings.“
Shisui was fast to counteract.
“Yeah? So I assume you won’t mind if I join the party? Making a little place in her world?” That was a new feeling gathered inside of Itachi’s soul. A feeling of doubt, of bitterness at the thought of seeing you with someone else. “Or I don’t know, maybe I can give Genma a free pass since I’m not the only one interested. You know, he asked me before about her.”
Itachi felt agitated for a second, showing for the first time a really intense expression on his face that only made Shisui chuckle.
“See? I told you. Better hurry up, Itachi.” He winked at him, sighing as tiredess envoled him too, closing his eyes.
Only Itachi couldn’t sleep that night, finally thinking about what’s most precious in his life besides his family. It took all of his courage, more than he ever had in fights to speak out loud about difficult things he wasn’t used to.
After graduation, having the real title of jonin, Itachi waited you near the door of the Academy. Controlled as he was, a shrewd mind could see the tremble of his hand, tighting against the akaibata flower, a red rose that symbolizes love in the village.
“Oh? You waited for me, Itachi? Such an honor for me to be waited by one of the best jonin from all times.” The big, teasing smile on your face faded as you saw the serious expression of your dear Itachi. You blinked, a rush of panic travelled in your bones.
“What happened? Don’t tell me they assigned you to another village.”
Itachi adjusted his voice while his hands slowly started being visible, not hidden beside his back. You were startled by the flower in his hands, looking back and forth from it to his face, trying to understand the situation.
Why did he choose specifically that flower? Can’t it be that…? No, definitely no. After all, it's Itachi.
“F-for me? Please, I should be the one thanking you—“
He stopped you, something he rarely does.
“I want to congratulate you.” It was bizarre for Itachi to avoid your gaze, making your own soul tremble, searching for answers. “And confess about something important to me. I must say I don’t pressure you for an immediate answer, perhaps taking your time to—“
“D-do you have feelings for me?”
Both of you freeze like a stone, like a paralysis jutsu stopped even the greatest genjutsu of Itachi that could bypass a weak ability like that. Still, he was the first to break the ice, to say something for the moment to not pass because it shouldn’t.
He nodded slowly, too slowly comparing about how fast his heart beat is. It took a couple of excruciating moments for you to fall all over him, in his arms. He raised them, shocked by the sudden reaction as your head leaned against his chest, tightening your grip around his back.
“It sure takes you a while.” You sniffled, adding your own confession. “I do too. I have feelings for you for a long time.”
Itachi managed to embrace you with the same intensity, putting his chin over your head as he murmured. “I’m glad to hear that.”
🍃 Naruto
Naruto had a burning, lively desire since he was young to have a name in the shinobi world and always craved human connections. Brainwashed by the people’s bad mouths, you were cautious at first to speak with him. Not that he was a loud, exhuberant kid that was in contrast to your reserved, yet upfront person. But because he was a constant reminder that despite everything he’ve been through, he managed to find enough confidence in himself that you lacked at that age.
Still, your person had an imprint in his mind because you were one of the few people who actually took his side.
The first time was when some random, uneducated kids tried to make a fool out of Naruto in the woods of Konoha. One of the pathetic brats spoke with a bitter tone, pointing a finger down at Naruto who was currently on the ground, pushed by them. How annoying. Three versus one and they call themself better.
Hiding behind a tree after your morning walk to the academy since it was interrupted by the sudden voices, you felt an unknown anger bubbling inside your chest.
“Hah! Not so strong of a genin, am I right? After all, a monster like you shouldn’t dare to want to be near the likes of us. A weakling dumbass, that’s all is about you!
You saw the determination in Naruto’s eyes, the fire behind them that was hard to maintain. He yelled, fighting with all his might.
“Shut up, assholes! I’ll kick your ass so hard when I become a Hokage! Just wait and—“
You move the same time the boy wanted to drag Naruto by his collar, gripping as hard as you can the disgusting hand of him to stop the moment. All of them were surprised at the same time you surprised yourself too. But here you are, too late to stop your action and not finishing it.
“Stop it!” The boy dragged his hand forcefully from your grip, unbalancing you for a second. “Leave him alone! You are the pathetic, stupid ones to fight him where he’s all alone!”
Your breath was heavy, chest rising up and down as you didn’t dare look past your shoulder, at a surprised Naruto with his mouth open. Are you in his class, right? He remembered you now.
Their voices melted together in insults, a fuel enough for the boy to try push you down too, yet Naruto was fast enough to catch you with his arms, supporting your back. That only enraged them even more, but their arrogance was enough for them to think that their time was more important than dealing with your kind of people.
“Freaks!”
And that was the insult you proudly carry on all these years for standing up for your new friend.
Naruto take his hands off you immediately after they were gone, scratching his head shyly. “S-sorry, sorry!” He spoke too fast for you to manake to answer yet. “Kuso!! Damn assholes! They’ll believe it soon how weak they are! I promise!”
You chuckled, shutting Naruto’s rambling at the beautiful laugh you heard. “I’m sure you’ll do!” His cheeks warmed, feeling so hot that one would believe it's Kurama’s fault.
He stuttered, unused to another person besides Iruka speaking normally. Naruto avoided looking in your eyes.
“T-thank you….?”
“Name].”
“Right! [Name].” Naruto chuckled, offering his big smile that he rarely offered to anyone when he was a child. “I’ll sure remember you! My new friend!”
And he did. He remembered you every time.
Always speaking with you in school, always invading your personal space to see what you are doing. If you want to eat with him, if you want to fight with him. All of this filled your soul with so much warm along the years that when he became a future leader, one of the strongest shinobi in Konoha, you were the most proud of him.
Hero of the Leaf.
You’ll never forget how every person before judged him, didn’t trust him, didn’t acknowledge him, but now praises him, pushing him with multiple hands in the air. You looked at him with so much love, tears wetting your cheeks.
Of course, he was quick to see, stumbling between people to come to you. He cupped your cheeks with both hands, looking agitated on all of your face as he spoke.
“[Name]! What’s wrong?? Tell me! Do I need to beat someone? Who! Say a name!”
You put your hand over his wrists, smiling so hard with tears in your eyes that you couldn’t be stopped. “No, dumbass! I’m just…feeling happy that people finally see you! See you for what you are, Naruto!”
Naruto gasped at that, feeling affected more than he was before. You were here from the beginning, right? He saw in a fraction of a second a flashback with old memories that culminated in this point, enough for his mind to tell him indirectly something he wasn’t aware of. Enough for his instincts to interfere, lowering his gaze to your lips for a second, making easy for you to see the answer you hoped for.
You pressed your lips against him, making Naruto have his eyes wide open at the feeling of your soft lips, until he himself start putting all his love into it.
None of you were aware of your surroundings and only when the cheers of others filled your ears, forced by the shyness, you stop kissing eachother. Both of you chuckled, returning to hug each other instead, so hard you aren't sure whose heart beat faster.
🍃 Shikamaru
As smart as he is, Shikamaru will be slow to realize he actually might like you. It’s true, you caught his eye for the first time when he spoke with you. In a debate.
Chosen by the fresh colleagues to be the one to organize the entire class with things like assigning projects based on strong or weak flaws of each one of them. Gather the project afterwards from anyone. Deliver new test announcements or any mundane tasks he needed to do. He wasn’t happy at all with the position and you can see it by the lazy expression he always had when speaking to all of you.
“Our sensei decides that it's time to see how good our teamwork is outside of missions. This time, they want us to work together on a project of our choice from Konoha’s history. But I suggest them to take the choice instead of us. They know our strength better than us.”
“I disagree.” The silence filled the room and you felt yourself warming for the sudden attention. Adjusting your voice, you looked straight in his Shikamaru direction, which just raised an eyebrow. “I-I think we are the one who knows our strengths better. Sure, they can help us and guide us, but we should have the free will to choose what we want to learn and write about.”
He spoke after assimilating your words like he always does. Thinking before speaking.
“We are too young to see our potential as they do.” Seeing the embarrassment on your face, he added. “Still, what are you suggesting?”
You gulped, feeling your throat tight since you could hear the muffled voices around you. It was fast for Shikamaru to catch that you are now insecure, so his eyes try to calm you in his own way, lacking any hint of judgment.
“Maybe a test?“ Everyone groaned and he felt the urge to do so, but he didn’t. “L-like to speak about ourselves? And what we think we are the best at and what little information we have that we want to dig deeper?”
The tension in the big room dissipates after Shikamaru spoke once again. “We can do that.” Finally, your breath out. Still, he continued no longer after. “But you’ll be the one speaking with them.”
“B-but you are—“
“Who said I should be the only one?”
With that, you and Shikamaru made a pair. Not like you were his assistant or anything like you thought you would be. Instead, Shikamaru treated you highly from the start, seeing the potential in you almost as much as a teacher with more experience would see in someone.
From that time, you get closer to Shikamaru without intending to. Putting up a fight when he sometimes forgets to do his own damn task, putting all the work on your shoulders. Or when he didn’t wanna fight against his opponent in the chunin exams. You still remember how hard you gripped both of your hands, pleading for his lazy ass to win.
But the real deal was when a wave of realization of what you meant to him hit Shikamaru harder when his sensei died. You didn’t leave his side, not for a second.
Cuffed in his own room, the depression swallowed him for the first time in his life. In that moment, Shikamaru watched the ceiling for hours, lost in painful memories, remembering his father’s words.
Out of nowhere, a powerful sound invaded the silence in his room. Coming from the window next to his bed. A rock? No, it wasn’t that bad. A tree branch? More plausible.
He dragged his legs out of the bed, slowly coming to see what happened. His eyes widened when he saw you, in front of his house, waving your hand in a desperate manner. Just before you put a hand near your mouth to shout, he opened the door.
“Hey!!”
“Shhh! What are you doing here? It’s late!” He whispered, scolding you. It’s dangerous for a girl like you to be on the streets right now.
“Then come outside, damn it!” You faked a shiver, trying to get a reaction out of him. “I’m scared all alone here…without my boy friend to protect me.”
Shikamaru scoffed. Yeah, right. You do a better job of protecting yourself than he can. But, of course, he closed the window after it, coming in a rush on his tiptoes so as not to don’t wake up his parents. His father will probably be disappointed to have a girl outside right now also that waited for him in this cold weather. At that thought, he took a jacket from the hanger near the exit door.
You were all smiles when he came, looking at a confused Shikamaru who walked with hurried steps until he was in front of you.
“What’s up with you? Do you know what the clock—“ You took his breath away, surprising him with the first affection you showed him. You hugged him. “What—“
“Shh. You’ll wake your parents, right?” You looked up, too close for him to think of a comeback. Then, you turned your head, cheeks against his chest. For sure you’ll catch him for how hard his heart was struggling to breathe. But you didn’t give him much time to be embarrassed, you made him compliant. “I wanted to know how you feel. I was scared, you know? I wanted to be here.”
He gulped, but he hugged you back. Troublesome girl. “I know you are here.”
At that, you gasped, taking a step back. “Is that a complain I hear?”
He waved his hand, panicking. “No, no! Damn.” He sighed, turning his head in another direction. “You know what I mean.”
Your mouth twitched, but it vanished when he was now the one catching you by surprise with that serious gaze he had. You didn’t know, maybe he didn’t know either that his pupils now filled with gratitude, mixed with a fondness that definetly excelled platonic feeling toward someone else.
“Come. I’ll walk you home.”
He put the jacket from his arms around your shoulder, pushing your back slightly to move forward. The night helped you not to don’t show you how flustered you were, concealing your reaction with your usual teasing.
“Oh? What an honor…Who would’ve thought Shikamaru is not an indolent brat every minute of his life…”
“Shut up. Not even I’m that bad of an asshole.”
Regardless of all of this time with you, seeing you grown later in a beautiful, strong woman — Shikamaru took his time. And it became annoying, so annoying that you find yourself doubting you're imagining the chemistry you two had.
This stopped when you fought. The biggest of them. You were outside with him, training. Alone. He was just watching, too comfortable to bother and join, having much “pleasure” to irritate you.
“And how do you know, huh? How do you know I will not win?”
You spoke between rough breaths, turning around in a swift pirouette for a perfect strike of kunai, sticking the pieces of wood arranged in opposite directions.
“I didn’t say you will not win. Don’t put words in my mouth, [Name]. I’m just saying I rather stick with the other plan—“
His closed eyes now wide open when you cut him off. “Because I’m weak. Say it.” You came close to him, anger in your voice. “Don’t hide around the corner, Shikamaru. I know how you think. I know what bullshit you think about—“
“I don’t wanna risk losing you for fuck sake! Can you stop being so loud at the first hour in the morning? It’s already hard enough to be alive this soon in the m—“
“W-what?”
Shikamaru stopped speaking, realizing he said too much. Too much for his own good. Risking now something more important than just being mad at him. At least he was used to it. He didn’t say nothing until you insisted.
“Since when are you so concerned about my well-being?”
He cursed under his breath, not believing what you are saying.
“What do you mean by that, [Name]?”
He raised on his feet, coming closer in front of you. Outside or not, the air ran thick, feeling like his shadows stilled you in place. Not enough for your mouth to stop speaking nonsense. Nonsense for him. For you, it was just voicing out your insecurities for a long time.
“I don’t know, Shikamaru. Sometimes I feel I’m not so important in your life like you are in mine.”
Shikamaru watched dumbfounded how your eyes were now red, how your breath was heavier comparable with a rough training.
“Are you insane?” Fuck. That was a mistake. His immediate reaction when you turned around with a painful expression was to grab you, to not leave him. “I-I’m sorry. I didn’t think.”
“Surprising for the mastermind not to think before speaking. Should I believe that?”
He felt an urgency he never felt before, as if he didn’t do something, say something, a distance would force both of you apart, maybe even unbreakable in the future.
“You don’t really know what I think.” At that, you stopped your impulses to run from him, furrowing your eyebrows. He sighed, letting go of your arms after seeing you listening to what he had to say. “I don’t see you weak. Never did. I think about you having a strong spirit with an impressive strength that definitely is much better than I can do.” He spoke again, not letting you contradict him. “I never doubt you. I was surprised to hear you talk so small about yourself and that to be surely my fault. I-I’m sorry.”
“Shikamaru…”
His hands twitched at the sides, sweating. “And…I care about you. In ways I didn’t think it was right to say. That I have a right to say.”
A heartbeat. Two heartbeats.
“A-are you saying what I think you are saying?”
He nodded. Now is the time. The time that everything will change after he will probably be refused—
“Asshole.” Ouch, deserved. He lowered his head just for a second, before raising it in an instant when he heard your laugh, landing a small punch in his arm. “And here I was preparing myself to wait decades until you will confess to me.”
“W-what?”
“I feel the same, Shikamaru. I was sure you already know since I don’t know…you are a genius and all that. But I see you’re not so sharp as you think you are.”
Shikamaru blushed in an instant, avoiding your gaze until he couldn’t do it anymore. “Right…” He could see you are waiting for something, or maybe gather the courage to not be a coward like this. But for once, the coward wasn’t him. “Can I kiss you?” The flushed cheeks gave your features a new light, accentuating your prettiness.
When you nod, Shikamaru lowers his head at the same time you raise yours for both of you to meet in the middle, in a much-needed kiss. A slow kiss that gradually turned hungrier, barely stopping yourself from continuing to touch each other.
Your happy laugh was enough for Shikamaru to give a real, honest smile too in return.
🍃 Sasuke
It will be a disaster. It will be a disaster for Sasuke to figure out the reason why he can’t stop himself from being near you and that will definitely happen in a long, long time.
Not even in the same team, Sasuke had his first interaction with you pretty late. He barely spoke with his team, forced to do so more accurately. That eventually became a blessing ij his life since they managed to bring out of him at least a bit of how little Sasuke was before. He didn’t bother interacting with other people, especially with the ones that didn’t stand out and at the same time initiating a conversation with him, not the other way around. Or that’s what it seemed until he met you.
On the other hand, you weren’t different than the other girls regarding one thing. He caught your eye. After all, you were a little girl seeing a pretty boy; a reserved one enough to seem like a misterous invidual from a young age.
But precisely for that reason, you differentiate yourself from the others. Asking the real question. Why is he so closed? Mysterious? What happened to him? Hearing the truth about his clan, you feel guilty to even see him in a light like that — to be attracted by the horrible reason he was the way he is. So you try to distance yourself from him, not having even a desire to speak with him only when necessary.
And surprisingly, that was at the chunin exams. After his fight.
It wasn’t so much time left until it was your turn. Hidden among all the people ready to fight to prove their worth, you were struggling to breathe. Prove what worth? Yeah, you passed all the tests after learning hard in order to don’t dare disappointing your parents again — the same parents who always had higher standards for you, rarely satisfied with any winning in your life.
But you didn’t dare complain once to them. To others? Hell no. Others have it much worse. Especially the boy that you didn’t hear near you, too much in your mind to see a confused Sasuke that didn’t know what the fuck happened here.
He looked around, looking for any threats until you felt his presence. You yelped, turning around and widening your eyes for such embarassing moment to happen. The first words you spoke surprised even him.
“What are you doing here?”
You turned around, rubbing your eyes for any sign of weakness. He spoke after a second too long, contemplating whether he should leave.
“Something happened?”
You shake your head and Sasuke thought it was a bit disrespectful not to don’t look at him as you speak, not how it was used to when speaking with others, especially girls. Maybe that’s what was the only reason why he spoke in a sharp tone. Not like he cared too much.
“No. It’s fine. Everything is fine.”
“Then?”
You looked at him of why he continue this pathetic conversation, feeling a bit exasperated.
“Ahm, then? Then nothing. Just don’t want to fight just to lose and dissapoint my family like I always do.”
And here you are. Complaining for the first time about your family to the wrong person. The worse option of all of them.
“Then don’t.”
You looked in disbelief at him, biting your tongue to don’t react to his arrogant tone that he seemed to have. Instead, you brush it off, snorting.
“Easy to say.”
Do you hear yourself? At least you have a family that is here to watch you. He knows how it feels to compare to someone else. He did that too in that past with his b—
“You don’t need to prove to anything to anyone.”
You blinked, swallowing your breath and letting it out slowly.
“Maybe you are right.”
He vanished after your first conversation. The conversation before anything.
You winned that fight. You are not sure if he was one of the reason. And especially, you weren’t even aware that after your fight, Sasuke was one of the few that actually felt something. His mouth twitched at the final blow you landed on your oppenent, seeing you cheerful, yet repressed smile. Like you couldn’t let yourself feel proud about your own achievement.
Not longer before he decided to leave Konoha, his decision influenced by the curse inside of him, driving him along with the fueling revange burning inside of him — he tried to get stronger on his own. He really tried to take another path after seeing how his rival start surpassing him.
Training in the crimson sunset, spreading a warm tinge around the big field was in discrepancy with what Sasuke felt in his soul. Maybe by the loneliness he felt in that moment, the vulnerability to be outside in such a missarable state of mind, made his attention to focus from his inner turmoil to the scene in front of him.
No far from here, he saw you.
Another faded question in the back of his mind existed. Not that he believe in superstitions like “nothing happens because of a coincidence” because it couldn’t be a coincidence what hell he was put through. The question was: Why he meet you again? Like the last time that for some unknown reason when he was oscillating mentally between insanity and clarity, you were there.
Meanwhile you, training for all it’s worth, once again you didn’t hear the presence coming closer until he made himself heard.
“Wrong position. You should use your good feet to land a powerful, not weak bow.”
You froze, ground glued to your swollen soles. That voice. You couldn’t lie, but you don’t think is there a possibility to don’t know from where is it from. From whom.
Weak bow. Sasuke didn’t say it as an insult, more like an advice he wasn’t think he should be the one to do so. But he already watched you for some time it seemed wrong to dissapear.
“T-thank you.”
He stepped closer, despite feeling the urge to don’t stay for long. He changed the subject, creating once more a start of a conversation he wasn’t really capable of. Or that’s what he thought about himself.
“It’s too dangerous to be outside at this hour.”
You sighed, coming near him only to sit down on the ground, catching your breath. After sipping for a bottle, making Sasuke involuntary wait for your answer, you responded.
“The sun is still up so I should be too.”
Sasuke scoffed, finding himself coming closer. He wasn’t stupid, he could see that anytime you can, you are avoiding his eyes. Too shy around him? Can’t be. You didn’t act like the rest to be perceived by him like that. More like the lack of confidence. Even if that was further from the true, otherwise your heart inside chest will not be so agitated.
“Fight with me.”
Sasuke wanted to slap himself for speaking. What is wrong with him? What could be the reason to even want that? (He doesn’t, you are not a match for him. It’s the truth.) The answer to his silent question was that now you looked at him and he could saw you more openly.
“W-what?”
“Up.”
You panicked, feeling flustered more than before. “No way—I could never fight you, I’ll be no match—“
He turned around, going straight to the middle of the training spot as he voiced with his back at you.
“Don’t be that weak.”
Your jaw tightened. Who does he think he was? The hint of a smile on Sasuke’s face when he heard steps from behind was unfortunately unseen by you.
After an embarassing short time, you crunched down your knees in front of him. Of course you lost. He didn’t use at least his chidori. Sasuke landed his hand and that time he couldn’t surpress his smirk when you take it with an annoyance scrawelled all over your face.
After the fight or what exactly was that, you challenged him. Now both of you resting on some random rocks around the area.
“You feel better about yourself now?”
He scoffed, giving you a side glance enough to make your heart stop for a second. But his unusual soft tone was more puzzling than that.
“Not at all.”
The silence set place harder than before. Not that you weren’t used to it or to feel uncomfortable by it. It was for that his now tilted head towards nothing in particular that seemed troubled enough to allow yourself to say something, yet fearful to don’t overstep.
“Thank you. For…that time. I think it helped much more that I was thinking in that moment. I won—“
“I know. I saw.” Sasuke locked his eyes on you, sending a tingling sensation in all of your body before he turned his head again. He wondered alone before asking. “What did your parents said?”
At your chuckle, a beautiful one, Sasuke unconsciously thought — he looked at you again.
“I think you already know.”
That’s unfortunate. They should appreciate you more like you do. You are their child, aren’t you? But he didn’t say anything, not even a congratulations since it wasn’t a thing he will say. Not knowing how.
“I saw your fight too.” You fidget for a second and Sasuke lowered his gaze to look on your fingers playing together before you raised your hand to face him. “I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one you heard this too or if it’s irrelevant, but you were impressive.”
He felt his cheeks warmer out of the sudden, not like you weren’t speaking the truth that you weren’t the only one telling him that. That emotion didn’t last long, changed drastically after what you added. “One of the best in our village.”
Because he is the second, not the first. You barely hear the murmured “Not enough” because he raised on his feet at the same time.
He tilted his head, looking down at you. “Come with me.”
Somehow, you sensed a bond of trust forming, concluding that night that make you follow him as Sasuke walked you home.
Still, that wasn’t the only thing you sensed that night. As you waved at him a goodbye, you watched him dissapered into the night with a pang in your chest, like you are not sure you’ll see him tomorrow again.
And it was truth, soon after dropping you off, he told Sakura he is gonna leave and he don’t want to be followed.
Come with me. You think if his question could’ve been in another life speaking about you following him on the rough path he chosen, will be any help. Probably not.
All the next years you knew about his wereabouts were painful to hear. You couldn’t know what to trust or what no. Did you really know him? Did he really did what everybody say he did? Did a person or more than one influenced him into being an unstable, bad person? It didn’t feel right to think about it.
But here, inside of you, a very small part existed that screamed hope.
Nobody can imagine what you felt when in the middle of the war, a presence suddeny catched everyone attention. For the first time, you weren’t the only one catched by surprise by his presence.
Everything stopped for you, maybe for him too — when he looked over his shoulder, having the first eye contact with you only, mantaining long enough to don’t be seen unintentional just before Naruto interfered.
But your moment vanished for days untill the war stopped, not having another one with him besides the little, rare ones when you felt his rinnegan eyes watching you from afar.
Well, that doesn’t mean you weren’t one of the few people to come see him in the hospital first.
The knock on the door was faint, almost shy. Not a sound could be heard from inside, yet you breath out once before you slide the door.
He wouldn’t think you will be here to see him, couldn’t anticipate it even if he will wanted to. Sasuke followed your slow moves until you reach his bed, asking him almost in a whisper.
“Can I sit?”
He didn’t trust his voice, he could only nod at your soft question.
“H-how are you feeling?”
Sasuke couldn’t stop looking at you. Couldn’t understand why you have that curious, concerned sight glintening in your eyes. He didn’t deserve any gentless. You were used from others to be dissapointed in you, but how about you? Why you aren’t at him now?
“Why are you here?”
His hoarse voice startled you. A roughness in it due to the lack of speaking to anyone until now. You fliched by his question, feeling the urge to leave that only deepened his guilt, but you didn’t.
“Do you want me to leave?”
He sighed, tilting his head as he murmured, fearful to speak too high.
“It doesn’t matter. You shouldn’t be here.”
You dragged the chair closer, catching his attention.
“Who said that? If you don’t tell me straight up, I might be too slow to understand.”
Not a hint of defiance can be seen in your gaze. He broke eye contact once again, stubbornly hiding himself.
Sasuke couldn’t lie. When he thought about you, rarely since his priority didn’t allow him more than once in a couple of months to lose his time with disruptive thoughts that could slow down his goal — only good things he remembered.
You didn’t judge him. Never. Not loudly at least. You didn’t insist on invading his space. You didn’t pressure him to choose the right path. Not even one of all the things he felt angry about in the past, even if those things also saved him. Still, it’s like you made space for him in your little, troubled world in own way — for him to join if he wants to that was starting to feel constrained mostly by himself to choose, not to be chosen by someone.
Sasuke didn’t realize he spoke out loud.
“I don’t want you to leave.”
“Y-you don’t?”
His eyes widen, head turning sharply towards you. The flush of your cheeks makes him almost choke on emotions. Fuck.
You bowed your head, hiding your face as you said in a whisper.
“I’m happy to hear that.” When you raised it back with a glinting gaze that transmits anything but indifference, Sasuke was now the one flustered. “And I’m glad you are alive.”
He gulped his feelings down, feeling still unworthy of them. “You will disappoint your parents for staying beside a person like me.”
“Someone told me before that I don’t need to prove anything to anyone. I took that by heart.”
Sasuke’s heart throbbed after so much time he was sure he imagined at first, to be capable of feeling such a new, conflicting emotion.
When you smile, he was sure he couldn’t hide his own feelings toward you. Now in his black eyes, he also has a small flicker of light in them, maybe ready to expand. He also couldn’t hide anything, anymore when you dare to take his hand in yours — and for the first time, he squeezed back, tight enough to tell you any words he couldn’t say frankly now.

WARNINGS: MATING PRESS, WIFE READER AND HUSBAND SASUKE, BREEDING KINK, TALKS OF PREGNANCY AND CHILDREN, POSSESSIVE!!!
For one as brutal as the self proclaimed avenger, he is surprisingly gentle when it comes to you.
Sasuke doesn’t think, and neither do you, that he possesses the capacity to be anything less than worshipful and reverent towards you. It’s practically ingrained within his being that he has to be careful when handling you. You’re not some hardened ninja capable of withstanding the worst of his touches and the roughest of his handlings, you’re his delicate flower of a wife who needs a lot more patience and coddling than everybody else in the village. And it turns, this translates to being excruciatingly careful and tender during sex. Sessions that last hours until cumming feels more like a chore than a reward. Sasuke holding you tight while doing missionary.
That was, until that day.
“You once told me that one of the purposes of our marriage was to restore your clan,” You say absentmindedly while serving him tea, and his eye widens. “You decided on a date already? Around this time of the month is my fertile window. Speaking of which! Did you know Ino just go—” He isn’t listening in that moment, his gaze solely focused on the cup of tea you just served him, and then your tummy. He can already see you pregnant, beautiful and glowing and utterly his. He doesn’t think of himself as very fatherly, but does he see you as a mother. How many children does he want? As much as he can, as much as you can handle. And even then, he’ll make sure to hire a sitter if that’s what's required for him to have at least five.
So at night, very kindly taking your fertile window comment as a suggestion. Sasuke sprawls you over the bed. Making sure to get you ready for what’s to come. His hand makes sure to keep your legs spread to accommodate his greedy mouth, aching for a taste of you. Tongue that circles and flicks your clit with the position only a man of his caliber has. Your eyes roll back as he rips out of you the third orgasm of the night.
“W-What’s with you?” You say, out of breath. And he stops his ministrations to look up at you.
“I need to get you pregnant.” Your eyes widen, mouth agape.
“What?”
“Are you being purposefully dense? I need to breed you, ___.” He growls, manhandling you in a fit of rage. His eyes flicker with both lust and need, folding you like a fucking pretzel under his weight and strenght. You gasp, tits squeezing together as your legs almost touch your ears. And he doesn’t waste time, no condom, no lube, no nothing. Raw, with only your slick and his pre mixing together inside you. You throw your head back as he starts to thrust, the mating press making him reach deeper and deeper with every passing moment. You gasp for air, but he doesn't allow you a moment of respite, his movements frenzied, a man possessed, nothing like your gentle, loving Sasuke, he was an entirely different beast in that moment. “I’m going to fill you with cum. I’m going to fuck you stupid. Until all you can think is of me and my cock and the child we are raising together,” He snarls. “And I’ll do it today, and tomorrow, and the day after until you’re pregnant. And I’ll do it again after that, every single fucking year. You’ll carry all of them, you’ll be the mother of my children,” His pace falters when he says that, voice cracking so prettily. “And you’ll like it.”
the quietness of an arranged marriage with sasuke uchiha ꒰ ୭ ˚. ᵎᵎ
the exact moment of your life when everything changed
cw: hurt/comfort, they're still teens, loneliness, signs of depression, non-sexual intimacy, happy ending, wc: 5.2k
You knew Sasuke was a quiet boy, since you were kids you remember him being too focused on his training for being so young. You could understand him having strict parents who expected too much of a twelve year old boy, but while everyone was playing, skipping or even just sitting on the ground reading, he was working on his forms and techniques.
Now, five years later, your parents just delivered the news to you. Not only you’re marrying that same quiet boy, but it’s going to be immediate and you two are moving together to an estate all by yourselves.
Why? Was the first thing that came to your head, but it was obvious: two potential clans uniting in marriage could help to evade any future problems. Thankfully, none of your parents were expecting an heir from you and him, you were kids still and the thought itself made your toes curl in fear.
The days after that talk with your parents stretched out heavily. You wandered through your family home, touching things you had known your whole life, wondering how long it would be before everything felt distant.
Sasuke. The name sat in your chest, you had watched him from afar for years, that dark haired boy who moved like the world owed him nothing but silence. He never joined the games or the easy laughter. He just trained, eyes sharp, body always pushing harder than anyone else. It made you feel small sometimes, your own childish joys were pointless next to whatever fire burned in him.
Now you were supposed to marry him. Live with him. Share a house and a life with someone whose voice you could count on one hand. The thought twisted something deep inside you, a mix of fear and fluttering curiosity that would not leave you alone. What did he think when he heard the news? Did his face stay blank the way it always did? Did his hands clench at his sides or did he simply nod, accepting his fate?
The wedding day arrived too fast. Your parents dressed you in a simple white kimono that clung to your skin in all the wrong ways, the fabric stiff and unfamiliar. They pinned flowers in your hair while you stood there quiet, heart hammering so loud you were sure everyone could hear it. No grand event, a small shrine and the necessary words to bind two clans together. You did not see Sasuke until the moment you stepped into the hall.
You walked toward him slowly, eyes fixed on the floor at first because looking up felt too real. When you finally lifted your gaze, there he was. Sasuke stood straight and still in his dark formal clothes, hair falling across his forehead the same way it always had. His expression gave nothing away. Those dark eyes watching you approach from a distance. It made your stomach drop. Was he angry? Relieved? Did he even see you as a person or just another duty?
The priest spoke the words and you repeated them with a voice that sounded too small even to your own ears. Sasuke said his part when it was time, each syllable precise but empty of warmth. You searched his face the whole time, desperate for something, anything, but he remained closed off. That silence wrapped around you like a second skin. It pressed on your chest, made your hands tremble as you exchanged the small cups of sake.
After the ceremony came the quiet ride to the estate. The carriage moved through the trees and you sat across from him, knees touching in the small space. You wanted to say something to break the heavy air between you. Maybe ask if he was okay with this. Maybe tell him you were scared too. But the words stuck in your throat.
Sasuke stared out the window most of the time, jaw set, one hand resting on his knee. Every so often his eyes would shift toward you, before going back to the passing scenery. It left you guessing, heart racing with questions that had no answers. Did he resent you for this arrangement? Did a tiny part of him feel the same nervous pull you did?
The estate was beautiful, large rooms with polished floors and sliding doors that let in soft light. Servants showed you both around quickly and then left you alone, the heavy front gate closing behind them with a final sound that echoed in your bones. Now it was just the two of you. You stood in the main room, fingers twisting in the sleeves of your kimono, watching as Sasuke walked to the window and looked out at the garden without a word.
The quiet stretched. You cleared your throat softly. “This... this is a lot, isn’t it?”
Your voice came out barely above a whisper. He did not turn around right away. When he did, his eyes met yours for a second that felt endless. He gave a small nod. “You can keep this room, I’ll stay next door.”
“Oh,” you said, even though you knew it was the best decision. There was no reason for you to stay in the same room, you weren’t going to do anything, but somehow it felt like a rejection.
Sasuke didn’t say anything back, he crossed the room and locked himself in the room in front of yours, not even taking his luggage with him.
That first night was hard. You barely sleep, your body tensing with the need to cry but nothing felt worthy enough for crying. You were seventeen, married to a boy who felt like a stranger, and the weight of his silence pressed on you more than any loud argument ever could. In the dark you reached out and touched the empty side of the futon, imagining what it might feel like if he ever let you in.
The first month dragged on, mornings started the same way every day. You would wake up in the large futon, the space beside you cold and untouched and stare at the ceiling for hours. Sasuke was gone before the sun rose most times, slipping out for training, missions or whatever kept him away from the estate. You rarely heard him leave. He moved quietly and efficiently, leaving no trace except the faint sound of the door sliding shut.
When you did catch glimpses of him, it hurt more than his absence. You would step into the kitchen for water and find him there, standing by the counter with a cup in hand. Your heart would jump, a stupid little spark of hope lighting up inside your chest. Maybe today he would look at you. But his dark eyes would flick over you for half a second, then slide away. He would finish whatever he was doing and walk past you, close enough that you could smell the faint scent of sweat and metal from his training.
That silence carved into you deeper each time. You started staying in your room more and more, the thought of walking through the empty halls made your stomach twist. What was the point? The estate was beautiful, with its wide gardens and soft light filtering through the paper screens, but it all felt like a cage now. You stopped going outside. The flowers blooming in the courtyard might as well have been gray. Everything felt tedious, heavy, even lifting your arms to brush your hair took too much effort. Meals sat cold on the tray the servants left by your door. You picked at them without tasting anything, then pushed the food away.
Loneliness settled over you, suffocating and familiar all at once. At night you lay there listening to the quiet house, wondering where Sasuke was. In his room, sharpening blades. Or maybe he was staring out at the moon, thinking about you. You replayed every small moment from your childhood in your head, trying to find some sign that he had noticed you back then. But there was nothing. He had always been focused on his own world, training until his hands bled.
You felt yourself fading. The girl who used to sneak glances at him during training, who laughed with her friends and dreamed about silly things, she was slipping away. You barely recognized the face in the mirror anymore. Your eyes looked dull, your hair hung limp because brushing it felt pointless. You stopped changing out of your sleep clothes some days. Why bother? No one was there to see you. Sasuke did not care. Your parents were far away, busy with their alliances and their plans. It was just you and the crushing weight of his indifference.
One afternoon you forced yourself to the main room, hoping maybe he would be there. You found him instead by the window again, back turned to you as he cleaned his kunai. Your throat tightened. You wanted to scream at him, to ask why he never spoke, why he acted like you did not exist.
The words burned on your tongue but stayed trapped there. What if he confirmed it? What if he said out loud that this marriage meant nothing to him? The fear of that answer kept you frozen. So you stood there in the doorway, watching the way his shoulders moved, the sharp line of his jaw and felt a familiar ache bloom in your chest. A mix of longing and resentment with warmth that refused to die no matter how much his silence hurt.
You retreated back to your room without a word. Curled up on the futon, you pressed your face into the pillow and let the tears come quietly. They soaked the fabric but made no sound, the last thing you wanted was him to hear you. Not that he would come check anyway. The days blurred together after that. You lost track of time, sleeping during the day and lying awake at night, replaying the wedding ceremony in your mind.
You felt lost, everything you used to enjoy felt distant now. Reading made your eyes hurt and thinking about the future filled you with dread. You were seventeen, married to a boy who was a stranger, living in a beautiful prison where the loudest thing was the silence between you. And through it all, Sasuke remained unknowable. You never knew what he was thinking behind those dark eyes.
The night air felt cooler than usual, you had slipped out to the porch hours ago, unable to stay curled up in your room any longer. The walls had started closing in again, pressing down with all the emptiness of the past month. So you sat there on the wooden edge, knees drawn up to your chest, the thin fabric of your sleep robe clinging to your skin. Tears came without warning, spilling over as the weight of everything crashed down.
You did not hear him approach, Sasuke moved too quietly for that. But suddenly there was a presence behind you, a shift in the air that made the hairs on your neck stand up. You kept your head down, refusing to look. Let him see. Let him walk away like always.
“What are you doing out here?”
You did not answer, instead you wiped at your cheeks roughly, staring out at the dark garden where fireflies flickered. Ignoring him felt like the only power you had left in this house. He had ignored you for weeks, now it was your turn, even if it made your chest ache worse.
Sasuke lingered there, you could feel his gaze on your back. “It’s late,” he said finally. Always so damn quiet. “You should go inside.”
That was it? After all the days of nothing, that was what he chose to say? Something inside you twisted, you turned your head just enough to glance at him over your shoulder. He stood a few feet away, arms crossed loosely, his expression gave away nothing.
You looked away again, hugging your knees tighter. “Why do you care?” Your voice came out softer than you meant.
He did not respond right away. You heard him shift his weight, the faint rustle of his clothes. When he spoke again, it was even lower. “You’re my wife.”
“It does not feel like it.” You still wouldn’t face him fully
You could sense him processing your words, but who knew what was really going on behind those dark eyes? Did he feel guilty? Annoyed that you were forcing this conversation? Or did it mean nothing to him, just another inconvenience in his focused life?
“I did not ask for this either,” he said after a long pause. His tone stayed flat, but there was something underneath it. Or maybe you were imagining it because you needed to believe he felt something.
You swallowed hard, fresh tears burning your eyes. “Why do you act like I do not exist? I sit in that room every day wondering if you hate me for this arrangement, or if you just... do not care enough to even look at me.” Your voice cracked on the last part, but you kept it quiet. “I feel like I am disappearing, Sasuke.”
He took another step closer now. You could see his hand at his side, fingers flexing once before stilling. “I train. I have duties. That has not changed.”
“You think I do not know that?” You finally turned to face him, eyes red and swollen, cheeks wet. “You always trained as a kid, I admired it back then. But now I cry out here alone because the quiet in this house is too loud, and you finally show up just to ask what I am doing? Like it is some inconvenience.”
Sasuke’s jaw tightened just a fraction, his eyes met yours for a longer moment than usual, holding secrets you could not read. “What do you want me to say?” he asked, voice rough. “That this is easy? That I know how to do this? I do not.”
The admission hung between you, it was not much, but it was more than he had given in weeks. Yet it was not enough. Not when the loneliness had already carved so deep. You wanted to reach out, to touch his arm or demand he look at you properly, but the fear of him pulling away kept your hands still.
“I want you to see me,” you whispered, turning back toward the garden. "That’s all.”
But then his voice came, low and raw in a way you had never heard before. It cracked just a little at the edges. “I see you. And I see someone who deserves more than this. I see someone whose life I’ve ruined.”
The words caught you unexpectedly, your breath caught and for a moment the whole world narrowed to the need and sudden desperation of his voice. He thought he had ruined you. Your mind spun with it all, the ache in his tone mixing with the loneliness that had been eating at you for weeks. You wanted to turn around, to look at his face and try to understand what that meant to him, but you could not. Your eyes burned fresh with tears and your throat closed up tight. Speechless. Completely speechless. The weight of what he admitted pressed down so hard that you could not even form a reply.
Instead you pushed yourself up on shaky legs, not glancing back at him. You walked away from the porch, feet moving almost on their own through the sliding doors and down the hall to your room. The floorboards creaked softly under you but you barely noticed. All you could hear was his voice repeating in your head. He saw you, he thought he had ruined your life.
What did that even mean coming from someone like Sasuke, who never showed his thoughts? You closed the door behind you and leaned against it, sliding down until you were sitting on the floor with your face in your hands.
You stayed in your room for the next week and he stayed away too. It was like both of you were ghosts haunting the same house but never crossing paths. Sleep came in broken pieces, filled with dreams of his dark eyes watching you from a distance. During the day you sat by your window sometimes, staring at the garden without really seeing it.
The loneliness had not gone away. He made everything more confusing. He saw you as someone ruined by this marriage, by him. Did that mean he cared enough to feel bad? You never knew with Sasuke. His silence had always done that to you, leaving you to fill in the blanks with your own tangled emotions.
Then one night, close to midnight, a soft knock sounded on your door. You sat up in the futon, heart suddenly racing. No one knocked at this hour. You stayed quiet at first, unsure, but the knock came again, gentle but there. Slowly you got up and padded over, sliding the door open just a crack.
Sasuke was there. On his knees.
He knelt right in the doorway, head slightly bowed, dark hair falling forward to hide most of his expression. His shoulders were tense, hands resting on his thighs, the sight of him like that, the proud and quiet Sasuke on his knees in front of your room, made something inside your chest crack wide open.
He did not look up right away. Your mind raced with questions. He was so close, yet still so unknowable.
“I…” He stayed on his knees, not moving to stand. You watched the subtle rise and fall of his shoulders, wondering what thoughts were hidden behind those lowered eyes. After all the days of nothing, this gesture felt huge and terrifying at the same time.
Now here he was, kneeling as if waiting for judgment. And you still did not know what he was truly thinking, only that his silence had shaped every feeling you carried for him since you were kids. The quiet boy who trained alone had grown into this man who could break your heart with a few raw words and a single gesture in the dark.
For a long moment nothing happened. The silence stretched between you again, the same heavy quiet that had defined every day of this marriage. Then his shoulders started to tremble.
Just a slight shake that you almost missed in the dim light. But then his breathing hitched and when he finally lifted his head to look at you, his dark eyes were glassy with tears. He was crying. Right there on his knees in your doorway, tears slipping down his cheeks one after another. His jaw clenched hard like he was fighting it, but it only made the tears fall faster. His hands fisted on his thighs, knuckles white and a broken sound escaped his throat.
“I... I’m sorry,” he whispered. The words came out messy, stumbling over each other after he had held them in for too long. “Forgive me. Please. I ruined everything for you. I’ve seen it every day in how you hide away, in the way you look at me like I’m already gone.”
He kept going, the tears streaming freely now, cutting tracks down his face. His usual mask had shattered completely. Sasuke looked like a complete mess, shoulders hunched forward, dark hair sticking to his wet cheeks. He did not wipe the tears away.
“I never wanted this for you. You were always there. I saw you when we were younger sometimes, reading under the trees while I trained. I noticed. But I did not know how to... I still do not know how. This marriage, this house, it trapped you with someone who only knows how to push people away.”
Your heart pounded so hard it echoed in your ears. All those nights you had cried alone, wondering if he even thought about you. All the times he had walked past without a word. And now here he was, falling apart in front of you. His silence had always left you guessing, and even in this moment part of you wondered if this was guilt talking. But the tears on his face looked honest. Painfully so.
“I want to take care of you,” he continued, voice rough with emotion. “If you’ll let me. I don’t deserve it. I know I don’t. But every day I have stayed away because I thought it would be better for you. I was wrong, I see that now. You deserve more than an empty house and a husband who hides. Let me try. Please.”
He bowed his head again after that, forehead nearly touching the floor in front of your feet. His back shook with silent sobs that he tried to hold back, but they slipped through anyway. The sight of it made fresh tears burn in your own eyes. You wanted to reach out and touch his hair, to pull him up and tell him it was okay. But your legs felt weak and your throat was too tight. Part of you still ached from all the days he had ignored you, from feeling like you were disappearing in this beautiful prison. Another part felt a rush of warmth at his words, at the way he had finally cracked open even a little. You had spent so long wondering what was in his head. Now some of it was spilling out and it left you speechless all over again.
“Come inside,” you whispered finally.
You stepped back and slid the door open wider. Sasuke lifted his head slowly, eyes red and glistening, searching your face like he was afraid you might change your mind. He rose to his feet on unsteady legs and followed you into the room. The door closed softly behind him with a sound that sealed the two of you in this small space filled with all the loneliness and confusion of the past month.
Both of you were still dressed in your day clothes. Yours were rumpled from hiding away, his carried the faint scent of the night air and training. You moved first, hesitant but sure, reaching for the ties of his outer robe. Your fingers trembled a little as you loosened them, helping him shrug it off his shoulders. He did not stop you. Sasuke just stood there, letting you peel away the layers with careful hands. It was intimate in a way that made your cheeks warm, it felt like tending to something wounded. You didn’t say anything about his bruises or scars.
He returned the favor after a moment, his calloused fingers working gently at the sash of your robe. His touch was light, scared to break you further. You helped each other in silence, folding the clothes neatly and setting them aside. Underneath you both wore simple sleeping garments, nothing fancy, the soft fabric that made the moment feel even more real. Skin brushed skin accidentally, a shoulder here, a wrist there, sending small shivers through you each time. You kept your eyes mostly down, focusing on the task, but every so often you caught glimpses of his face. The tear tracks on his cheeks, the way his jaw stayed tight like he was still holding back. You wondered what was going through his mind right then.
Once you were both changed, you turned to him fully. Sasuke looked smaller somehow in the light of the room, his eyes still wet and raw. You picked up a clean cloth from the side table, stepping close enough to feel the warmth radiating from him. Gently, so gently, you pressed it to his face and dried his tears. His breath hitched when the cloth touched his cheek, but he stayed still, letting you wipe away the evidence of his breakdown. Up close like this, you could see every detail: the faint redness around his eyes, how his lashes were clumped together, the exhaustion etched into his features. It made your own eyes sting again.
“There,” you whispered, voice soft as you set the cloth aside. Your hand lingered near his face for a second before dropping. “Lay down with me.”
You took his hand, surprised at how warm his fingers felt against yours, and guided him toward the futon. He followed without resistance, the two of you settling down side by side on the bedding.
You turned on your side to face him, pulling the blanket over both of you. Sasuke lay on his back at first, staring up at the ceiling, but then he shifted too, mirroring you. His dark eyes met yours, still guarded but softer than before. You could not read him completely. You never could.
“Tell me," you said quietly, not demanding but needing it. “Talk to me, Sasuke. About anything. I need to hear you.”
Your hand rested on the space between you, close enough that he could take it if he wanted. The intimacy of changing together still hummed under your skin, not passionate but real and tender.
He stayed quiet for a long moment, this time it felt like he was gathering words instead of hiding behind them. His fingers brushed yours lightly, almost by accident, and you held your breath waiting to see what he would say next.
“I stayed away because it was easier,” he said, each word took effort. “I thought if I kept my distance you could have the house to yourself. Pretend I was not here ruining your days. I never wanted a wife. Not like this. Not when we are both still so young.”
You swallowed hard, the loneliness from the past month rising up again but softer now. “It didn’t feel like distance. It felt like I didn’t exist to you.”
Sasuke’s brow furrowed slightly. He shifted a little closer under the blanket, his knee brushing yours accidentally.
“I noticed you back then,” he admitted quietly. “You looked free in a way I never was. This marriage took that from you. I hate it. I hate that our clans decided this for us and I couldn’t stop it.”
You could tell it was hard for him to say them out loud.
“I never blamed you for the arrangement,” you whispered back. “But the silence broke me, Sasuke. I kept wondering if you even saw me as a person and not just another duty.”
He reached out then and his fingers wrapped around yours properly. “I saw you. Every day. I just didn’t know how to show it without making things worse. I’m not good at this. But I want to try for you. I meant what I said. I want to take care of you. If you’ll let me start over, even just a little.”
You squeezed his hand, feeling some of the heavy weight in your chest loosen, you knew his quiet nature would not vanish overnight. But hearing him say it, seeing the way his eyes stayed on yours instead of sliding away, it felt like the first real breath you had taken in weeks.
“I want that too,” you told him. “I don’t need you to be loud or different. Be here sometimes. Eat with me. Talk to me even if it’s only a few words. Let me see the boy who trained so hard instead of the ghost who lives in this house.”
Sasuke nodded slowly, his thumb brushing over the back of your hand. “I can do that. Tomorrow I will not leave before you wake. We can walk in the garden if you want. Or just sit. Whatever you need.”
You moved a little closer without thinking, resting your forehead against his shoulder. He tensed for half a second, but then he relaxed and let his free arm come around you loosely. It was awkward and careful, two kids still figuring out how to be married, but it was something.
“I’ll forgive you,” you whispered against his shirt. “But you have to forgive yourself too. We are both stuck in this,we don’t have to be alone in it.”
He didn’t answer with words right away, he just held you a bit tighter. He whispered something so low that even you weren’t able to catch it.
Sleep came easier than it had in weeks, wrapped in the warmth of his presence. Sasuke stayed right there beside you, his hand still linked with yours. It was not perfect. Nothing with Sasuke ever would be simple. But it was a start, and that little bit of healing felt like everything after so many days of fading away. In the morning you would see what happened next, but for now you let yourself believe that maybe the quiet boy you had watched for years could learn to share his silence with you.
His fingers traced lazy circles on your back through the thin fabric of your sleep clothes, a small gesture that still surprised you sometimes. Sasuke had always been so quiet, so contained, but these past few months he had been trying. Little by little. He ate breakfast with you now, sitting across the table even when words didn’t come easily. He walked with you in the garden some evenings, pointing out a bird or a blooming flower with just a few short sentences that meant more because they came from him.
“What did you do today?” he asked softly, his arm heavy around your waist and his chin resting on the top of your head.
“Not much, went to buy some groceries for dinner. It’s been a while since I haven't cooked,” you purred, your breath tickling his neck.
Sasuke hummed quietly. “I’ll help you. Later.”
You smiled softly and shifted closer, your leg sliding over his as you tangled together even more. Your hand came up to rest on his chest, feeling the strong beat of his heart under your palm.
“Did you train hard?” You drew little patterns in his chest waiting for his answer, he just held you tightly, wanted to melt into you.
“Very,” he muttered, closing his eyes and inhaling your sweet scent.
You pressed a gentle kiss to the side of his neck, feeling the way his body relaxed even more against yours. These moments had become your favorite, when the weight of the day melted away and it was just the two of you sharing the same space without any walls left between you.
Sasuke lowered himself so he could be at eye level with you, you always get lost in his dark and big eyes, with that shine they have when they look at you.
“You’re beautiful,” Sasuke whispered, one of his hands coming to your cheek, he was trying hard not to blush. “What did I do to deserve you?”
You smiled, leaning into his touch. “I don’t want someone else, Sasuke. I love how you look at me,” you told him quietly. “Like I am something worth protecting.”
“You are,” he answered simply, kissing the tip of your nose before finding your lips.
His quiet nature still wrapped around everything, but it no longer pushed you away. In the warmth of the bed, with his body curled around yours and his kisses growing sweeter with every passing minute, you felt truly married to him. Not just on paper, but in the tender ways that mattered most.
a/n: it's been a while since i don't sit myself to write a long-ish fic. i'm very very happy about how this turned out
REQUEST : In which Sasuke realizes his feelings for the reader through jealousy when someone flirts with them. He reacts possessively, firmly telling the suitor “this is NOT happening,” and shows his affection by getting touchy and territorial—like a cat marking its territory—leading to playful yet meaningful moments between them.
You’re the kind of person people feel lucky to meet.
Loud, sweet, always laughing—even at the dumbest jokes—and somehow, impossibly kind to everyone. The type to bring snacks to team meetings even when they weren’t asked for. The type to compliment the old man at the mission board on his new robe. The type to wave at strangers like they’re old friends.
It drove Sasuke insane.
Not in the “I hate you” kind of way- although, sure, he said he hated you at least once a week. But in the way that made his eye twitch when you gave Naruto a high-five that lingered too long. Or when Kiba dared to sling his arm around your shoulders and you just laughed. Like it didn’t mean anything. Like Sasuke didn’t exist just five steps behind you, glaring holes into the back of Kiba’s skull.
It wasn’t like you two got along all the time. You teased him constantly calling him “Mr. Moody” or “Grumpy Pants.” He retorted by saying things like “Do you ever shut up?” or “Your voice is more annoying than Naruto’s.”
But still, you always saved a seat next to you. You always offered him the first dango stick. You always smiled at him like he hadn’t just insulted you with that signature Uchiha coldness.
And that was worse than anything. Because it made his chest tight in ways he didn’t like to admit.

Today, it all snapped.
You were sitting on the stone railing outside the Hokage building, swinging your legs and talking animatedly with a visiting Cloud shinobi. Some guy with silver piercings and a cocky smile who leaned in way too close.
Sasuke saw it from across the street.
His chakra flared so naturally it felt like breathing.
“Tch,” he muttered, already walking before he even processed it.
“[Name],” Sasuke said, voice sharp and low.
You turned, cheerful as ever. “Sasuke! You’re actually outside during daylight hours! Should I alert the media?”
He didn’t respond. He just stepped between you and the shinobi like a silent wall of black fabric and cold intent. You blinked as Sasuke-without breaking eye contact with the other guy, reached back and grabbed your wrist, pulling you off the railing and into him.
“Whoa—! Sasuke, what are you—”
“Stay with me now.”
You froze.
Not because of the words, but the way he said them—low, serious, a little breathless. His hand was still on your wrist, but his thumb was stroking circles. Absent-minded. Possessive. Like he didn’t even realize he was doing it.
The Cloud shinobi raised a brow. “Didn’t realize she was taken.”
“She is now,” Sasuke muttered.
Your heart flipped.

Later that evening, back at the training grounds, you finally found the courage to poke at it. “So… earlier,” you said, tossing a senbon into the dirt. “You gonna explain that whole… caveman thing?”
Sasuke scoffed. “You’re too loud for your own good. Always attracting weirdos.”
“Oh, so you pulled me into your chest and told me to ‘stay with you’ for my safety?”
A pause. He didn’t look at you. “Tch. Maybe.”
You stepped closer, leaning forward just enough to make him uncomfortable.
“Jealous, much?”
Silence.
Then, finally, he met your eyes. No smirk. No scowl.
Just… sincerity.
“Yeah,” he admitted quietly. “I was.”
Your breath caught.
“I don’t want you laughing like that with anyone else,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper. “I want it to be me. I want it to always be me.”
And when he leaned in, hand cupping your cheek with the softest touch imaginable, it felt less like a kiss and more like a promise.
Bonus Headcanons :
• He won’t always say something, but the way he stares daggers into anyone getting too close is enough to make most people back off immediately.
• Suddenly, he’s always standing just a little too close. Between you and whoever’s talking to you. Behind you, hand on your lower back. Always there.
• He’ll grumble, pretending it’s about them—but deep down, he’s just mad he has to compete for your attention.
• Sasuke’s not overly affectionate, but when he’s jealous? Expect his hand lingering a little longer on your wrist, or him pulling you just a bit closer during walks—subtle, but obvious to anyone watching.
• He won’t say “mine,” but it’s all over his body language. The way he looks at you. The way he softens only when you’re around. You feel it.
• If you bring it up? He’ll brush it off with something like, “I just didn’t want to clean up the mess when they got rejected.” But his ears go red, and his arm still stays around your shoulders.
feat. Neji Hyuga, Sasuke Uchiha, Shikamaru Nara, Kiba Inuzuka
I feel like some of our beloved Naruto men actually would go crazy with blushing when it was about you being close no matter how cool or nonchalant they might act. Let’s start with
Warnings: not proofread, fluff
Neji Hyuga
Gods, he always acts so flat and disciplined. He does not have time for girls, right? Training is hard, the clan does not wait for him to catch up. This man got expectations to full fill. And yet, he always wore this little scowl between his brows when you were closer than 50 cm. It just got worse, when you openly admired him and gave compliments. „You look so smooth, boy.“ Sometimes things like: „Oh my god, your eyes are so pretty.“ or things as: „Can I braid your hair?“ the answer is always no. Why? Because that one time, when you just caught a strand of his walnut sheen hair and twirled it between your fingers. He needed to clear his throat and looked to the ground. Nothing could crack his composure and than there was you. That pink delicate shade that spread over his nose and cheeks. Neji could feel it, the heat of it rushing in his face. And this man tried anything to hope you would not notice how cute he thinks you are.
And Sasuke Uchiha? That’s our ice cold diva. Not a crack in his pale face. Dark eyes always hard or annoyed. And sometimes he even had this look of indifference in his face. You can’t touch him. At least this is what he seems like. Too cool, too composed with this cold aura. Not approachable, right? He does not want to look approachable. And yet, here you are being all so amazed by his sheer existence. Yet it’s not like you’re wooing him. But he feels, his heartbeats doing something weird, everytime you step closer to look in his eyes. Or worse, you stood so close he could smell your perfume. „We‘re being a diva today, huh?“ you joked and yet your eyes…Always your reflecting eyes told him just how pretty you think he was. It was shocking for him, to read your emotions in your face so easily. You did not hide it. And this fucked with his head. Poor boy, as his cheeks heat up when you looked at him, as if he was special. That red bloom dusted his cheeks and did not went unnoticed. As he turned away with something like: „Go somewhere else to be annoying.“
What about Shikamaru Nara? He does not blush. At least I would say so. He always got something smart and sassy to say. He could deadpan you and scratch his head as if nothing was wrong. Maybe an annoyed sigh when someone tried to crack a bad joke. Although I truly believe, he would went oddly dumb as soon as you would join him, on the rooftop to watch the clouds. „A man cannot even enjoy a moment of quiet.“ Eyes would be closed. Maybe a whispered:“Tch, woman.“ that would leave his lips. And yet, everytime when you came around all the smart words died in his throat. As if he only could focus on the way, you liked to make him stop being smart. It just got worse when you then grabbed his head and placed it in your lap and played with his hair. His blush is not over the whole face. Not over his nose. But yet his ears would go pink. So pink you saw it since his hair is always in a ponytail. „Awww, clever boy is being adorable.“ he indeed couldn’t handle that sweetness of you. Not without blushing to the tip of his ears, that told everything.
With Kiba Inuzuka I can swear he is such a blabbermouth. Talking, talking and just more talking. But the flirty kind. He is that cool guy with a huge dog, that girls want to pet and he wears leather jackets. This screams for someone who flirts until he gets true interest back at him. „Hey gorgeous, what you’re up to today?“ leaning forward with that smirk. But with you? Gods, he tried it so many times and everytime he thought he could handle to look in your face, his whole face turned red. Besides his absolute helpless expression. And he can’t remember the next words he wanted to say. It’s so bad that time when you called him a „Good boy.“ his mouth opens as he looked down. So totally in awe and yet so overwhelmed someone thinks he is a good boy. It does things to him, that he does not know how to admit. So the red color creeps up his neck. All the way to his face. No sign of his normal skin tone. Just the redness, because a cute girl he liked actually liked him back.
