I have an idea! What about a HC post where a child reader remembers an abstracted cast member, gets sad, and goes to one of the crew for comfort?
My first thought was about Ribbit, and the Reader running to Jax for comfort. The idea of him realizing that it's his fault your feeling this way has way too much potential to pass up. (Emotionally damaging Jax in fanfiction is my new favorite hobby.)

Jax when you miss Ribbit
★ Jax refused to go to Ribbit's funeral. You went.... and cried your eyes out, making him feel even more guilty than he already was. Avoiding accountability is hard with a bad conscience. "Why didn't you come? She liked you." You asked, pulling on Jax's shorts to get his attention.
★ Each time you say her name, Jax flinches slightly. Feeling the room cave in around him. Sinking down and swallowing him whole. Just like that, he's remembering all his mistakes.
★ Ribbit ran around the Circus for some time before Caine found her. It's fair to say you could've seen her. Fortunately, you're small enough to hide anywhere. But that might've traumatized you. Leading to nights where you strait-up refuse to walk past her door to get to your room.
★ Maybe it's because you made a point to stop by her room in the days leading up to her abstraction. Jax found her first. He still wonders what might have happened if you were in his place instead. The thought makes him nauseous.
★ You spent only one night in Jax's room -because you had a nightmare and knocked on his door. While (loudly) crying. The dream involved Ribbit, so for whatever reason he relented. Letting you take his bed just this once.
★ Children have this fascinating ability to talk about things everyone else refuses to mention. Part of the whole "no filter" thing Kaufmo loves about you. Except for when you ask him why Jax won't talk to you anymore.
★ Abusing Gangle is one thing. Picking on an actual child is a whole different beast entirely. Make no mistake, If you weren't a kid, he'd probably pick you as a target too. Because you're a child? Jax can't bring himself to cross that line.
★ Keeping you at arms length might be for the best. Keeps you out of his line of fire. Only you still look up to him, despite everything. It's messy. This whole situation. You're just unfortunate enough to be caught in the crossfire.
★ You miss Ribbit. You miss her a lot. One thing that'll never sit right is not having the hot chocolate breaks she'd take you on. With Kaufmo, Jax, and sometimes Ragatha. Ragatha still goes with you now, but it's hardly the same.
★ She feels selfish for thinking this, but Ragatha is actually thankful Jax tried pushing you away. Because she's half-convinced he'd ruin you too if given the chance. Drive you to abstract like Ribbit and Kaufmo.
