Tim Drake: The Ragebaiting Saga
The bat siblings have one united goal in life: Ragebait Tim Drake as much as possible.
When he finally flips out, everyone has to hold it together so he doesn’t find out they’re all in on it.
(Tim is fully aware they are all in on it, he just never says anything about it to them.)
Jason and Steph are the worst and do it all the time. Damian and Duke do it without meaning to. Dick does it in passing and then will leave the manor/bat cave to let everyone else deal with Tim. Cass participates the least, but when she does, she’s usually the final straw that pushes Tim over the edge.
Tim’s Revenge However;
To get back at everyone for trying to ragebait him, Tim will do shit that annoys the hell out of everyone right back.
They’re messing with the wrong guy. He’s someone who catalogs and remembers everything, he knows everyone’s pet peeves.
- He’ll dog ear book pages in front of Jason, or break the spines of books right where Jason can hear the *crack* sound. He’ll also on occasion steal Jason’s cigarettes if he can get his hands on them, but that’s reserved for when Jason REALLY pisses Tim off, because he knows that Jason will find him once he realizes they’re gone, and if Tim is beyond the point of negotiation and/or reasoning, he’ll throw cigarettes away. Jason will promptly lose his mind on Tim, but serves Jason right for pissing him off.
- Ragebaiting Steph is easy for Tim, he just has to basically do what she does to him, which usually is just shutting down her ideas without fully listening to her. She has a shorter fuse than he does, he’ll win every time in this scenario.
- Ragebaiting Damian is even easier for Tim than Ragebaiting Steph. (Tim also doesn’t do this to Damian often, unless he feels that Damian is intentionally trying to make him mad. Most of the time though, it’s just Damian’s delivery when saying things that really pushes Tim over the edge.) Also, Ragebaiting Damian is a bit of an Icarus move, so Tim treads lightly, but calling any of Damian’s pets gross, bad, or just something negative in general, usually does the trick.
- Duke is the outlier here, Tim never ragebaits Duke because most of the time, Duke never means any harm when he asks questions, sometimes though, he just asks the wrong question at the wrong time for Tim. Duke has a freebie pass.
- As surprising as it may sound, Dick has the most things that make him upset, you just gotta find the time when it’ll get under his skin- him and Jason are similar in temper, Dick just hides it better. Usually though, over-critiquing him is what pisses him off enough to need a breather. And the over-critiquing could literally be about anything at all, vigilante work or otherwise.
- For Cass, Tim just does it to inconvenience her, rather than make her mad. He has in fact gone as far as to sew bells and other things to her suit to make her louder and so that others can hear her coming, and normally she notices way before she actually goes on patrol, so she just cuts them off, but that doesn’t change how annoyed it makes her at the inconvenience of it all.
SOMEONE MAKE IT INTO BATFAM AND JASON I AM BEGGING YOU
"Why do you think… She puts on your costume and risks her life for strangers? Altruism? Guilt, my friend. Only guilt can drive you like that."

Cassandra Cain
In years past, David Cain had been the greatest martial artists of his time and possibly the most deadly assassin on the planet. A chief lieutenant in Ra's al Ghul's League of Assassins, Cain was tasked with developing a master combatant who could act as the personal protector to the Demon’s Head.
Cain traveled thew globe and eventually came across a young woman named Sandra Wu-San. He became convinced that a child father by he and Wu-San could be forged into the greatest of warriors. He manipulated Wu-San, ostensively forcing her to have a child with him. They had a daughter whom Cain named Cassandra and then absconded with her leaving Wu-San behind. Deeply affected by the experience, Wu-San would go on to become villainous Lady Shiva.
Cain trained his daughter from birth to be an assassin. Her instruction was grueling and unrelenting. Cassandra was not taught to read or write; instead, body language was her only form of communication. She cultivated super-human control over bodily movement as well as the capacity to easily read the movements of others (thus allowing her to predict their actions). Despite her lithe size, Cassandra was forged into into a living weapon and master martial artist.
She was only eight years old when Cain took Casandra out to collect her first kill. She was tasked with assassinating a corrupt businessman. She had no difficulty dealing with the target’s bodyguard and easily kills the man. Watching him die, Cassandra was able to read him, feel what he was feeling, and she came to realize the finality and awfulness of her actions. No longer wishing to be her father’s instrument of death, Cassandra ran away. Cain chased after her but he has trained her too well and she is impossible to locate.
Cassandra and Cain continued to hunt one another over the next few years. When Cain was contracted by Two-Face to assassinate Gotham police commissioner Jim Gordon, Cassandra took actions to stop him. After saving Gordon’s life, Cassandra was taken in by Batman who offers her a home.
Cassandra bonded with Batman, finding in him the kind of fatherly figure that she has longed for. Batman and Oracle taught Cassandra to speak, read and write. She is an apt pupil and learned these skills remarkably quickly. Cassandra then took on Oracle’s former mantle and she became the new Batgirl. In his civilian identity as Bruce Wayne, Batman formerly adopted Cassandra. Although Cain is initially enraged that his daughter has ended up in Batman’s care, he ultimately decides the Dark Knight is a suitable candidate to continue Cassandra’s training.
Cassandra would go on to become very close friends with the fellow teen crimefighter, Stephanie Brown. While she proved herself as an entirely capable Batgirl, the mantle was not of great importance to Cass and she eventually passed it on to Stephanie. Cass was thereafter known as The Black Bat and she continued to conduct operations for Batman in Gotham and all about the globe.
At some point Cassandra disappeared and reemerged under the mental control of Deathstroke. While under his thrall, Cassandra took over the League of Shadows, defeating her mother and seemingly killing her father. Cassandra was eventually rescued and disabused of Deathstroke’s sway; Cain’s body was never found and it remains unknown whether or not he is gone for good.
Actress Elle Jay Basdco portrayed a live-action version of Cass; while actresses Tati Gabrielle and Leah Lewis have voiced the heroine in animated projects. Cassandra Cain first appeared in the pages of Batman Vol. 1 #567 (1999).
