Isla Sirena
The woman on the mountain - Tonra - might be Neporo. She was immortal, had power over dreams consistent with the descendents of Neporo, isolated herself because she thought she deserved it (Kalyba implied that Neporo comitted some great crime) and she had the jewel.
Samantha Shannon did say that Neporo ‘might’ have outlived Kalyba, but Tonra was dead when Dumai came to her.
Or was she? In her own writing, Tonra states that falling from a height and being dashed to pieces might not be enough to kill her. On the mountain, she might simply have slipped into a coma, and seemed dead when her body was found. Dumai, Nikeya, and Kanifa were all suffering altitude sickness when they found Tonra’s body - they weren’t thinking straight, and might have not checked for her pulse and breathing very well.
Also, Canthe/Kalyba had no pulse when it was checked. It might be that it was an illusion, but it might also be that the first to eat the fruit of the siden trees get their whole body paused - not just an end to aging, but no pulse either.
If Tonra is Neporo, then her hair still grew, but it might just mean that bodily processes slow to the point of being nearly undetectable. If Neporo, Cleolind, and Kalyba’s hearts only beat once a minute, it would be easy to miss.
This would also explain why Cleolind’s body in the tomb hasn’t decayed. Cleolind isn’t dead either - just in a deep sleep. With no pulse, she’d seem dead to anyone who examined her.
Was anybody going to tell me that at least three of Queen Amidala's five handmaidens are canonically sapphic, or is that something I just had to learn, on my own?
Sabé was in love with her, and Saché and Yané got married.
Additionally, per Queen's Trilogy author EK Johnston, Versé from AotC was intended to be trans, but she opted not to mention it, since she didn't want her being trans to be reduced to a quick mention, and she was doomed to die in AotC, anyway.
As far as she's concerned, Versé is still trans (also, Sabé and Tonra (a Naboo soldier from TPM) are bi and/or pan):
Versé is trans (I cannot stress enough how little credit I deserve for that as it isn't actually "in canon"), and Tonra is bi/pan, same as Sabé. I do not know which variety of queer Yané and Saché are, but I don't mind if they end up in the lesbian column. :)

I can’t stop thinking about the celestial jewels, specifically the one in the east. In ADOFN, Dumai finds the jewel on Brazhat guarded by Tonra. She takes the jewel, then gives it to Nikeya, who finally gives it to the Grand Empress. Then, in Priory, we learn that Neporo had the rising jewel when she ruled Komoridu, and then it passed to her descendants to guard and protect. Tané is one of Neporo’s descendants and finds the jewel sewn into her side.
If Tonra is actually Neporo, which I believe she is, then it would make a lot of sense for her to have the jewel. But then how does the jewel go from being with the grand empress at the end of ADOFN, back to a descendant of Neporo, Tané? I’m sure we’ll learn more about this as Samantha Shannon puts out more Roots of Chaos books, but I just can’t stop thinking about it!
Also, the jewel never answered to Dumai, and I think it’s because the person it was bonded to was still alive, and I think that was Tonra/Neporo. She would have needed to die before Priory of the Orange Tree in order for Tané to be able to use the stone as she does. Just my theory!
forever insane over the way Sabé was canonically in love with Padmé and would die for her not just because she was her sworn bodyguard but because she was her FRIEND and the way Padmé could never reciprocate because of all her responsibilities and how Sabé needed someone who Understood that she would always give all she could to Padmé and she found that in Tonra and-

The Protégé Chapter 6: I Need You To Trust Me
Luke and Sabé, as well as Luke and Leia, make a deal. Padmé has a mission for Pooja.
The skirt of the dress looked to be floor-length, with an exquisite red-purple colour to it. A shorter dress was layered over the top, a slightly bluer purple. The sleeves puffed at the wrists and the collar rose like a flower around the wearer's neck. Luke glanced into the box and drew out a scarf of the same colour, with several silver brooches to pin it in place.
Sabé stifled her cry, but not so quietly Luke didn't notice it. He glanced at where she was staring, her hand creeping towards her mouth, to see a silver headpiece still lying in the box. He lifted it up.
"It was one of my favourite dresses when I was a senator," Amidala said. "I wore it at the Proclamation of a New Order, and at Emperor Palpatine's coronation."
The headpiece, something between a disc and a crescent moon, burned in Luke's hands.
"'So this is how liberty dies,'" Sabé quoted, raising her eyes at Amidala, "'with thunderous applause'?"

i love that Sabé's pickup line is "I'm in love with my boss and I will always choose her over you" and then IT WORKS ON TONRA
