is it a bad thing that as someone who isn’t religious (but i live in a christian household) i’m obsessed and fascinated by religious imagery, specifically the gruesome kind

my brain did a think and decided you had to urgently know.

there are 3 somewhat likely theories about the universe that make LITERALLY EVERYTHING equally real. The first is that the universe is infinitely big, ANYTHING that has even the slightest chance of happening if happening RIGHTNOW somewhere out there because of the whole infinity thing, the second one is literally just the same thing but with time instead of space being infinite. Then there’s the 3rd theory jokingly called “last Thursday theory” that says the universe could’ve been created any time, like last Thursday, with the exact structure to make us think that things actually happened before that, which means everything before right now is equally not real because we can only confirm that we exist in this moment and not that we existed before now.

the universe is damn insane. So many different things that are within reason that we can never confirm

Also I realise this can be, like, existential for some people so keep in mind that if any of this is true it still doesn’t really matter cuz if we can’t confirm it then we might as well treat it like it can’t be true cuz it doesn’t matter if it is true, we continue living either way
