Shockingly I have managed to (touch wood) get everything back to how it was! I thought it was going to take me a LOT longer.
Crucially I had managed to rescue not only my packages, saves, library, saved Sims etc but also my Cache files which meant that I didn’t lose any of the stuff I had downloaded via the Launcher. I had also saved my DeviceConfig, Graphics Rules and GraphicCards files so I didn’t have to go through the tedium of getting the game to recognise my graphics card or re-do HQ settings.
When I re-installed Sims3 today I also put it in my D drive and this has helped significantly with memory space- which was the problem that caused the Windows update to freeze and why I couldn’t go back to a previous version of Windows. Also, you have to actually turn on and make restore points on Windows 10- it doesn’t do it automatically, which I wasn’t aware of. Despite having a huge amount of memory on the C:drive, it is already more than half full with Windows, programmes and crap that comes along for the ride and which I can’t delete. When I installed Sims in there I ended up with only 12Gb of space which shrank to 7Gb when I ran Sims or downloaded stuff. Utterly ridiculous and I never had this issue with my old laptop which had half the memory. Now I have 32Gb free on my C: Drive which I am hoping will prevent memory crashes in game in the future (fingers crossed). It still takes ages to load and CAS is a nightmare though hahahaahah! Should probably purge some CC ;P
Anyhoo, if you should be as unfortunate as me to end up with the juddering flashy black screen of death when you sign in on your laptop or PC because of a borked update or another reason, the following is a lifesaver! You need an external device to send the files to (I know they aren’t cheap but I have a 1Tb external drive and it has saved me so many times, so I consider it a good investment).

I'm genuinely curious how Bunty explains to herself the fact that Sonia is a lesbian who obviously made or was pushed to make and live with the wrong life choice? How Roy staged that?? 😂 I'm also fascinated by Georgie. I'm not blaming her for her feelings - she is a human being and we are envious animals. I prize her for standing up for her brother despite them. And if she doesn't drop that stance after she hears about Roy's betrayal she's becoming my favorite!
Bunty I think believes that Sonia can’t be a real lesbian....otherwise how could she have married Roy and had children with him? But I know what you are saying...the whole marriage break-up is just to spite her, lesbianism included, lmbooo!! I don’t even think Bunty could be that deluded, but she definitely thinks Roy chose to be with Saoirse out of spite. It will take a lot to convince her otherwise.

Yes, I wanted to make it clear that Georgie was never going to be able to go down the same road as Roy (at least not yet, and not until she’s worked through a lot of stuff) and I’m glad you didn’t judge her too badly for that. And while I’m sure she could justify saying those things about Vinnie to her mother, she would truly be devastated to learn just how much she has hurt Vinnie.

I find it quite relaxing to play and I think you would enjoy it! You should definitely try it XD It can get boring after a while- last time I played I was really bored with it by generation 4 and wanted to do something else, but I did enjoy it overall and some very pretty sims were born in game from it :D

Michaela loves the double denim look, she thinks it makes her look cool and tough *cough* so she’d rather sweat than give up her signature look. Ditto the sunglasses. Also the sunnies help to hide little things like eye-rolls and side-eye, which helps her to avoid arguments with Ororo- particularly when watching Ororo’s favourite TV shows XP LOOOOL!

I’ve heard it said that men cheat because they aren’t satisfied sexually, but women cheat because they crave intimacy. Tom however was quite besotted romantically AND sexually with Sonia. Roy feels no emotional or romantic attachment to Crystal, so his conscience is clear. ;=)
