The fifth year of Silvergifting Week will run August 10-16, 2026!

Silvergifting Week is a Tolkien fandom event on Tumblr. This event encourages creating fanworks that prominently feature a romantic, sexual, or queerplatonic relationship between Celebrimbor and Mairon | Sauron | Annatar.

All kinds of fanworks are welcome as long as they are created by you: fan art, fan fiction, headcanon, moodboard, fan craft, playlist, cosplay, meta, etc. This is mainly a Silmarillion fandom event, but it also welcomes fanworks inspired by the Rings of Power television series.

Do not use generative AI. Fanworks made using generative AI are not accepted.

The tag of the event is #silvergiftingweek. When posting, use this tag and/or tag this blog @silvergiftingweek. This blog will reblog all submitted works. BEHOLD, EVERYONE! I commissioned the amazing @balrogballs to design & paint Pengolodh, one of my favorite characters in The Silmarillion (so of course he isn't named even once.)

Born in Nevrast and of both Sindarin and Noldorin heritage, I really wanted to see art of him that brought him uniquely to life & and omigosh did balls deliver! Pls note the silver streaks in his hair--not age or stress--but indicative of his shared birthright--as well as the mixed jewelry styles for similar reasons, and bless him, he's dropping a bit of ink onto his Very Fancy Shirt.

I could yell all day about all my headcanons about the poor historian who was somehow at both the Fall of Gondolin and the Third Kinslaying at Sirion, but for now I will hold myself back.

Last night I dreamt about hobbits. Specifically, I dreamed that if you were a hobbit and a hobbit moved into a hobbit hole near you, you were expected to give them a wheel of cheese for their cheese cellar.

It had to be a good-sized wheel of cheese, too. Though it was acceptable to give a small one if you were also giving a large one.

I'd recommend turning the sound on. The seal is not screaming. It's not very loud at all, actually, but the noise it's making is Much Worse.
