you know when somebody says this that they mean either a short amount of time, a long amount of time, or maybe just neither

awesome ‼️
i want to coin a phrase that's the opposite of writer's block. call it the muse's fire hydrant. thirty thousand story ideas are being beamed directly into your brain and if you don't write them all at once you will die.
yknow what i mean?
ok.
there was backlash from homeschooling "parents rights" advocates in my area before because of a daycare teaching kids about consent...all they learned is that you don't have to accept unwanted physical intimacy. one scenario that happened is a parent told her toddler boy to kiss a toddler girl in class. toddler boy comes back and says that toddler girl didn't want a kiss. it turns out the kids were taught that you don't touch someone if they say "no". parents thought this was ridiculous. I felt crazy hearing them talk about it, why in the world would you be upset by kids respecting each others boundaries, and why are you asking your toddlers to kiss each other in the first place as if they're toys and not human beings?

If the idea of consent gets in the way of total obedience then consent is the thing a lot of adults would rather discard.
You should include intersex people in your activism not bc we prove bio essentialists are wrong but bc we are people who deserve rights 👍

but why. does a skate park exist. if the city doesn’t want skateboarders. this is not a walmart parking lot we’re talking about. this is not a thing that was designed for a purpose other than skateboarding that skateboarders encroached on like an invasive species. you are trying to deter loitering in a place where it should not be possible to loiter. it’s not like the sand was put there to stop homeless people from sleeping there. which is awful but I can at least comprehend cities doing it to benches and shit. the sand was specifically meant to deter skateboarders
you built a skate park. with money. presumably taxpayers paid for there to be a place specifically made for skateboarding. and then those same taxpayers paid to get those nasty skateboarders out of the big concrete bowls that are just there for show I guess
dogs are not allowed in the dog park
Oh I know the answer to this: skaters used to be mostly white. Now there are a lot of Black skaters.
not to be insensitive but some of the salem witch trials were so funny bitches like “i saw her at the devils sacrament!!!” girl… what were YOU doing at the devils sacrament 👀
If ANYTHING is a heritage post it’s this.
Someone commented on one of my posts about intersectional feminism where I was talking about how the patriarchy hurts men, too.
This person thought they were being clever when they said:
“oh yeah? then racism hurts white people too”
They thought this was a gotcha but like… it does, actually. Like, there are a lot of examples I’ve seen of black activists and authors and educators talking about where racism hurts white people too, especially in cases where economic class intersects with race.
There are real cases where towns during the end of segregation literally closed down public spaces rather than be forced to integrate them, and that hurt the white people who used those spaces. A lot of racist attitudes towards welfare hurt white people, because making it harder to get on welfare in general makes it harder for white people to get on it too. One of the reasons racism was pushed so much was to destroy class solidarity between poor white and poor black folks, so everyone poor would keep suffering.
Now obviously white people shouldn’t only care about ending racism because it hurts us, too - we should want to end racism because racism is bad. But this person just showed so much ignorance about the subject area and literally thought black folks had not spoken on these things, when they absolutely have.
