@themyscirangeneral
Hey, folks. Times are tough and I need a little scratch to last this stint of unemployment which is exacerbated by the virus lockdown. I don't ask for handouts, I'd rather earn my cash and really need help with gas money to make my appointments and attend the few interviews I've been able to nab.
Therefore, I'm offering tarot reading for dirt cheap prices!
1 card: $1.00
3 card (Past, present, future) : $3.00
4 card: $5.00
8 card (The week ahead) : $6.00
10 card (Celtic cross) : $8.00
I have venmo, and of course feel free to add tips.
DM me for details or reblog this post, please!
Fantastic Breasts and Where to Find Them
That second to last panel is chilling.
reblogging again for linzeestyleâs tags, because, OMG, *TRUTH*
#fandom#harry potter#this is the real reason fandom is mocked derided and insulted by creators#because it *canât* be packaged and resold#because our culture doesnât know how to sell sex to women outside of the male gaze#and because women have created a community where they donât need to buy anything to get what they want#and to people whose entire livelihoods#depend on creating and marketing unattainable âperfectionâ to young women#telling them what sex and sex appeal is#how they should feel about it#and how they should desire it#and what they need to buy to be worth it#our entire economy is based on women being cut into parts and those parts being sexualized#and turned back around and sold to men and women alike#and fandom doesnât participate#it creates its own economy and thereâs no space for that model#thatâs terrifying#and the people who used to hold all the cards mock it#because they lost the âC&D and shut-downâ alternative
#and because women have created a community where they donât need to buy anything to get what they want
I think about this ALL THE TIME. I fucking love it.Â
Fandom is the most brilliant, beautiful, collaborative, critical, deeply subversive stuff there is and I ADORE IT TO PIECES.
And no, itâs not all womenâcertainly not, absolutely not. But Iâd say itâs vast majority women. (âŠRidiculous crazy vast majority anybody-except-cis-men.) I know I often think of fandom as a feminine and/or queer-centered space.
Iâm reblogging for the added commentary and to add a link to a meta IÂ recently came across. The whole thing is worth a read, but the first paragraph really resonates:
The types of fandom that are most often considered traditional and acceptable, and which are often either male-dominated or coded as masculine, tend to be acquisitive, whether in terms of knowledge (obscure trivia) or merchandise (collectibles). Whereas, by contrast, the types of fandom most often considered insincere, non-serious or âunrealâ, and which are often either female-dominated or coded as feminine, tend to be creative, such as making costumes, writing fanfic and drawing fanart. (via fozmeadows)
I love this! Ofc young women/nb people/queer ids in hostile internet spaces are really into making things and presenting them instead of themselves.
as a queer man, fandom was the first place i saw people like me get to be in love and not die for it.
All my girls
Apparently Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Birds of Prey wielding a crossbow isnât sexy according to a man ??
itâs almost as if men are used to seeing women in film through a male gaze where they are sexualized and objectified for male pleasure and approval.??
huh anyway MEN are weak and ladies enjoy Mary Elizabeth Winstead looking hot and powerful as Huntress
like THAT ^^^^^^^^^ is sexy men need to grow up
Hmmmmm I wonder why
I know this isn't specifically about Harley Quinn, but since it's her movie, I gotta make the comparison. I mean I wonder why all men were drooling over this Harley
But I havent heard a single male praise for her hotness since the trailers for her movie came out and they find out now she looks like this
I MEAN
I W O N D E R W H Y
the difference a woman makes thank god
why would i netflix and chill when i can ao3 and sin

MOTHERFUCKERS COULDNâT GET ON WONDER WOMENâS LEVELÂ
This is so great ????
Fanfiction is becoming peopleâs primary form of entertainment right now because most media right now is so cheap, bland, recycled, and sponsored by people who love money more than the source material. Fanfiction is written for free by people who genuinely love what theyâre writing about. Thatâs why itâs better. Thatâs why itâs more satisfying. Fanfiction is a home-cooked meal made for yourself and for your friends. Media today is junky fast food spoiled by too much grease and the knowledge that the people producing it are being criminally mistreated and underpaid.Â
also because in fanfiction, most of the time, the author is writing it not to tell some specialimportant, life changing message, but to simply make people happy, to make themselves happy. there is no obligation to have a huge shocking dramatic twist, or to be super complicated, or to have some sort of âmoral.â fanfiction is primarily for enjoyment, written by people who are typically not getting paid for their work, by people who decided they wanted to spend time and write out more for these characters.
fanfiction is almost always made with the sole intent to be enjoyable to the readers, without any obligation to tell a true life, high stakes, morality tale.
*bawling* we are so fucking lucky

Can I get an amen?
how the fuck did all of those renaissance dilettantes learn so much crap? Like they spoke 3 languages and were foremost in several branches of science, plus they wrote poetry, played the violin, and were master artists? And they still had time to be gay?Â
none of them ever did any laundry at all
The emotional and physical labor necessary to maintain the lifestyles of Renaissance and Enlightenment polymaths was shunted almost entirely to their uncredited servants, slaves, wives, and daughters.Â
Whenever we compare ourselves to the âgenius menâ of the past, and wonder why we fall so short, remember this: their intellectual capacity, energy, and freedom was because there was someone else washing the damn dishes.
Rosalind Milesâ âWho Cooked the Last Supper?â is about how women throughout history provided critical services so men could have leisure time.
Fuck
Watching a super hero movie directed by a woman is like putting glasses on for the first time.
I didnât realize how much I had to squint through the âmale gazeâ till suddenly, miraculously, I didnât have to.
There were absolutely NO eye candy shots of Diana. There were Amazons with ageing skin and crows feet and not ONE of them wore armor that was a glorified corset. When Diana did the superhero landing, her thigh jiggled onscreen.
Did you hear me? HER FUCKING THIGH JIGGLED. Wonder Womanâs thigh jiggled on a 20-foot tall screen in front of everyone.
Because she wasnât there to make men drool. She wasnât there to be sexy and alluring and flirt her way to victory, and that means she has big, muscular thighs, and when they absorb the impact of a superhero landing, they jiggle, and.thatâs.WONDERFUL.
Thank you, Patty Jenkins, for giving me a movie about a woman, told by a woman,so I can see it through my eyes, not some dude bro whoâs there for boobs and butts.
These little moments were ALL things I noticed and it made a world of difference. So good
are we really letting them off the hook for fuckinâ boob-plate and skimpy-ass impractical armor just because the director is a woman?Â
weâre gonna pretend outfits like that
and that are not impractical and male-gazey as fuck?
weâre gonna ignore that they had her wear heels?Â
câmon guys
Disclaimer that nothing is perfect, including this movie. However, that said âŠ
You ever worn a lower wedge heel? I have. Itâs not like a pissy little dress heel. You can stomp in a wedge heel. You can grind shit under a wedge heel, and you can plant a wedge heel in someoneâs crotch if you have to. If youâre in good shape, you can also run in a wedge heel thatâs fastened to your leg (as opposed to a sandal-type with no ankle ties or anything, I mean). At least I could.
Iâve seen so many women have to wear pissy dress heels and run or fight or jump in them (Iâm looking square at you, Jurassic World), that the wedges bound to a leg didnât bother me. Also, Paradise Island is a warm, tropical island filled with women; why wouldnât they dress for the weather? There are no men to leer at them. They probably have a rule if you catch another Amazon leering at you and itâs unwelcome, you can challenge her to battle or some such. (As for wearing a breezy outfit outside the Paradise, all I can think is, Diana isnât subject to cold or heat, being a god. I think she only wore the cloak for modesty around the humans.)
