If you're wondering why there's so much resistance to the idea of a 4-day work week, or why automation hasn't actually led to people working less like it was supposed to...
They complained about the 5-day week, and before that the 6-day week, and less than 12 hours in a work day. But I know how much wasted time there is in a workday...
Just found out you can change the kudos message on ao3 and honestly? Best day of my life
Every time you leave kudos on one of my fics, youâll get one of these messages:

Drarry to JohnLock to Destiel to Byler
So apparently the âUGH WHY CANT SHIP BE 4 REALZZZZâ is still A Thing and I have to write a mini essay about itâŠle sigh.
I am an Internet Fandom Old, meaning I was on fanfic websites when they were LiveJournals and FanFiction.Net, before Wattpad or AO3, and I remember the difference betwixt limes and lemons, and what âno flames plsâ meant in an Authorâs Note as long as the chapter.
Now. Come my children and let me tell you about the call that changed my destinyâŠokay not really, but I started reading Drarry fics later on in my fandom journey, when SuperWhoLock was the zeitgeist (RIP 2013 Tumblr). Thus, I missed the true Shipping Wars, but hereâs the thing: canon does not owe you anything. It doesnât owe you a ship or redemption arc because you and your online cult want it (Iâm looking at you, Snape Wives), and just because thereâs homoeroticism in the subtext, doesnât make it have to be in the main text.
Iâm very much of the opinion that everything should be more gay in general, but Iâm a leftist not a TV producer or publisher. Thus, we are left with transphobic authors and show runners who are afraid of the implications of gay teens in the 1980s. And lest we forget: there ARE gay characters in these shows and movies and books, theyâre just not necessarily the main canon ship goal. Not to mention the ableism inherent in assuming that someone being less eloquent verbally who does not have access to assistive technology in the modern age makes her less viable as a romantic prospect. (Pls note that my knowledge of this is from my friends bc I am a scaredy cat and cannot watch stranger things).
Coding a character in your mind and in your own fanon as a different sexuality is genuinely fine. Iâm of the opinion that both Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley are bisexuals and yes I do have textual evidence to back it up. What that doesnât give us license to do, though, is be assholes to people with other opinions INCLUDING THE WRITERS AND ACTORS. Like. Babes. We have people who are doing active harm to marginalized communities and thatâs where our energies should go (Gaiman, Rowling, hell even Kristin Chenoweth is apparently a fan of Charlie Kirkâs??).
If thereâs anything weâve learned from JohnLock and Destiel, itâs that white men are not going to make their characters do anything other than what they really want to do. Fanservice is not the goal of any show, except Supernatural during the last few seasons but STILL. And honestly when authors do things in fan service? It tends to go poorly (Ron was originally supposed to die in the books but JKR wanted her perfect, tidy, cishet ending that would please the fans so Fred died instead).
And going back to disability: disability should not preclude a character from a romantic arc, and just because an arc makes more sense to you because you wouldnât date a disabled person doesnât make it a bad romantic arc.
In conclusion, love your ships. Dramione and Stucky are my OTPs, but do you see me being an asshat about it and forcing those on everyone? No. Because you can love a thing in your fandoms and still be a decent human being. Good night, and good fucking luck.

âPeople were just smaller back thenâ
Nope. Fat people have always been here, arenât going anywhere, and have always been beautiful and worthy of respect.
i'm old enough, i remember how they treated trayvon martin, this was a kid who got lynched for walking on the wrong street and they called his murderer a hero. they dragged trayvon's name through the mud, they called him every terrible thing under the sun and blamed him for his own murder. meanwhile if you even acknowledge the things that charlie kirk objectively was, the way he promoted himself, the things he proudly did, you're a disgusting monster. forgive me if i can't take that shit seriously
How much money would it take to make up for what Israelis have done to Palestinians? What is the price of a Palestinian life? What price would resolve the grief of those left behind? What price would un-displace, un-rape, un-torture, un-crush, un-shoot, un-burn, un-explode, un-starve, unfreeze the hundreds of thousands of Palestinian men, women, and children Israelis have brutalized?
The impossibility of undoing what has been done, of righting the wrongs, of balancing the scales, is overwhelming. And yet so many among the Israelis and Israel apologists calling for peace argue that this is the solution, that Israel should simply pay reparations, and that will be enough for everyone to live and let live. Once reparations have been paid, Palestinians and Israelis can live in peace side by side, sing kumbaya day in and day out for the rest of eternity. Iâm not Palestinian, and so I obviously donât get to have a say on what justice looks like for them. But this solution seems to me to be not only unrealistic, but also deeply selfish and cruel.
Israelis stole Palestiniansâ land, but they want to keep living on it? They stole their children, tortured their friends, murdered entire bloodlines, but they want to be their neighbors? Why would Palestinians ever trust them? How could they ever forgive them for what theyâve done live on all our phones in broad daylight? What right do Israelis have to live on land soaked in the blood of the people they have spent decades slaughtering? What right do they have to decide what justice looks like?
What is it that Palestinians want? To be clear, Iâm not talking about the âgoodâ Palestinians, the ones who have made themselves palatable to the Israeli oppressor class. Iâm not talking about ârespectableâ Palestinians or moderate Palestinians whose opinions on the matter are designed to prioritize the comfort of Israelis. What do the majority of Palestinians actually want and how willing are Israelis to listen? If the majority of Palestinians want to live side by side with Israelis, great. But what if justice for Palestinians is the dismantling of the Israeli state? Would Israelis acquiesce? What if justice for Palestinians calls for their oppressors to leave the land theyâve stolen? Would Israelis agree? Or would they try to argue that such requests are antisemitic rather than reasonable reactions to decades of unspeakable violence?
âships should at least make sense.â no. ships can make sense, sure. but theyâre just fictional characters we play with for fun. theyâre fantasies, not a fucking thesis paper. so no, they donât always have to make sense. they just have to make you happy (or horny).
let people enjoy (fictional) things however they want to enjoy.

actually it is so important to me that being in community and experiencing human connection can save people. thanks
Fun fact those dry markers were supposed to have water put into them to make them work. You take off the bottom thing and pour water in and bam, instant marker success. Only learned about this four years after Iâd lost my set đ

bbc's merlin was literally thee most show of all time they gave us a black actress playing guinevere, one of the greatest queerbaits of our time, katie mcgrath (sword), katie mcgrath (evil), blatant disregard for any sort of historical accuracy, a queer metaphor they publicly said "didn't mean anything", and then at the end they fucking killed king arthur. truly legendary.
