In Between Shifts. Wraps Are The Undisputed Champion of Car Dining
If you’re going to eat in your car, choose wisely. Homemade wraps have saved me for years. At some point in our lives, most of us accepted that eating in the car is just part of adult life. Enter the wrap. Humanity’s greatest contribution to mobile dining. Between meetings. Between the multiple jobs and shifts you’ve signed up for with little breathing room. Between kids’…

A local’s plan to avoid tourist traps and still deliver the California magic to out-of-town guests
You know that moment when you get the text: “Hey! I think we’re going to be in California this summer!?” Ahhh. Okay. Time to prepare. Because if you read between the lines, this actually translates to: We want the full Southern California travel experience and YOU will be our unpaid tour guide! Gulp. You love your family and friends. It’s great to catch up with a former college…

If you're in SoCal, fun things to do #weekendvibes
There's a wrap for that. Lunch or dinner ideas...
I love cake and am always up for a new/cheaper way to make it.
I almost always use unsweetened applesauce instead of eggs (makes it a lot cheaper).
I buy a big jar and 1/4 cup usually equals one egg.
Here's my pre-Valentine's dessert idea.
I bought a 99 cent cake mix which was super moist and added applesauce and oil replacing eggs and butter.
Then I topped it the next day with Vanilla Greek yogurt, chocolate chops and pecans.
Amazing!
With the cost of food being so high, I started making a lot of my meals from scratch.
Yes, it's time consuming and there's a lot of clean up.
But this is one of my favs...tomato soup and peasant bread.
I don't have the exact cost breakdown since I already have most of the ingredients on hand, but I'd say it's close to $2.00 per serving.
How I Made A DIY Cardboard Dollhouse
Updated December 26, 2025 Disclaimer: This is a cat’s playtime dream. Best to keep it away from critters with little mouths that want to bite and claw! Love For Dollhouses, Not The High Prices This Christmas I wanted a dollhouse. It wasn’t in the budget but I didn’t let this stop me from exploring my love for miniatures and dollhouse items. Becoming creative and using what I have I took two…
I wanted a dollhouse for Christmas but it just wasn’t in the budget.
Even used ones online were a little too pricey for me.
But I took a couple delivery boxes, some glue, tissue paper, and a few odds and ends from The Dollar Tree creating my own.
I also made a wreath out of pipe cleaners.
The mini Christmas tree I’ve had for over a decade. I’m not sure if it is from Target?
The little packages are actually ornaments that I bought years ago and made to look like individual presents.
It’s my first attempt at making this so it’s a little primitive but still gave me a fun miniature vibe. Hoping to save for a real dollhouse!
Happy crafting.
