You want to call your House rep now and tell them Trump needs to be impeached immediately for defying a Supreme Court order (re: Kilmar Abrego Garcia), which functionally voids our constitution and means no one in America has rights anymore.

I am not exaggerating.

As of now, anybody can be disappeared, no due process, no recourse. Trump is openly disregarding a Supreme Court order and says he’ll send US citizens to El Salvador.

This is not a drill.

Call your House rep and tell them they must impeach. Tell them if they cannot bring themselves to impeach, they must resign. A more open and shut case to impeach is not possible. Trump and his administration are saying openly, in public, that anybody can be kidnapped by ICE, even in error, and disappeared permanently.

Call your senators, too, and tell them to support impeachment (it goes to them once it passes a majority House vote).

Find your representatives. Learn how to find and connect with them. Stay informed about their bills, committees, and contributions.

He forces his eyes away from the picture to stare incredulously at the real Poe, the Poe who can’t even stand to look him straight on, who always has to be looking away from him just like he’s doing right now. “That’s me,” Finn repeats with more conviction.

Poe swallows, a shaky hand coming up to push his hair back. He’s still sitting up in bed, the sheets pooling around his waist while Finn stands right there, right within reach. “Yeah,” he finally admits quietly. “That’s you.”

“How.”

Finn escapes the First Order a second time, though his memories have been taken away from him. He finds himself amidst the Resistance once more, but there's something no one's telling him, and it has to do with Commander Poe Dameron.

Review: Okay, so I think to say this one wrecked me would be an understatement. I bookmarked it with just “Oh My God the feels.” Finn’s distress about not having his memories is just so tangible. This author has really gotten his character so well. It breaks your heart in the way Poe is written into the story because even though Finn can still tell that Poe is important in some way, there’s just such a detachment and confusion coming off of Finn (rightfully so). Poe is just so broken from it and that cracks through the story in wonderful awful ways. Please please check this one out.

Whumptober 2020 Day 12 Prompt: Broken Trust

The ship was silent.  Anakin’s fingers tightened their grip on the ship’s controls, eyes fixed on the open expanse of blue hyperspace lines trailing across the viewport.

Ahsoka was fast asleep in the seat behind him, clearly exhausted from whatever it was that had happened on that planet.

Anakin couldn’t remember.  Well, he remembered bits and pieces of it—he remembered the Father, Son, and Daughter, and Master Qui-Gon, and…lava?

That was more a blur than anything else, though.  He only saw the lava as a flash of red burning behind his eyes, moving so quickly that he couldn’t help but wonder if he was just imagining it all.

Was any of it real, after all?

Whumptober 2020 Day 13 Prompt: Chemical Pneumonia

As the cave’s entrance collapsed in on itself, Anakin moved forward, taking in the sight of the transport Ahsoka and her men brought to pick up him and Obi-Wan.

“Well, there’s still Dooku to deal with,” Anakin declared.  He breathed in deeply, enjoying the feeling of clean, open air, instead of the poisonous gas he was choking on moments ago.

“You let him get away?” Ahsoka exclaimed, stepping closer to Anakin.

Anakin turned around to face his Padawan, just as Obi-Wan passed by, pausing a few feet away from the ship.

“No, not get away, exactly…just—”  Anakin fumbled for words, glancing back in Obi-Wan’s direction.  “Chime in, anytime.”

Unexpectedly, Obi-Wan didn’t reply.

Review: Also one of the first Drarry fanfictions I’ve ever read, so long ago I hardily remembered anything! I really enjoyed giving this another read through and it definitely deserves it. Draco POV stories are some of my favorites and this author does a wonderful job showing how much things have changed since Draco left England. Draco’s been gone a long time and when he first comes back, it feels like he expected things to be the way they were but they’re really not. I really feel for him when he is in his apartment with that feeling of loneliness. Anyways, everyone should read this lol.

Fandom: Harry Potter

Summary: It always rains for Draco Malfoy. Metaphorically. And literally. Ever since he had accidentally Conjured a cloud. A cloud that's ever so cross.

Review: This is definitely a fandom favorite! I gotta say, Madam Pomfrey is like my hero in this story, I love her. This is one of the first stories I think I ever read from the Drarry fandom and it definitely hooks you to the rest. This story is super cute and also kind of...hits hard. The Cloud in this story almost has a personality of it’s own even as it reacts to Draco - super interesting concept! The sort of slow “coming together” between Harry and Draco is interesting in the fact that (Draco at least) wasn’t even thinking about Harry until a certain point of trying to cure the cloud, but I won’t say anymore than that!

Fandom: The Marvel Cinematic Universe, set between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame 

Author: mustlovemustypages | Word Count: 2,330 | Rating: Teen and up

Summary: Steve had never for a second regretted giving the phone to Tony. Even when there had been nothing but radio silence, it had made him feel better knowing that Tony had back-up if things got desperate. 

He was never more convinced that he'd made the right decision than in that moment. There was something so achingly familiar and comforting about Tony's voice as he rattled off incomprehensible data readings regarding Titan. 

Review: I really enjoyed this, and in the time after Infinity War and before Endgame it was something I needed. I think I was one of many scouring AO3 looking for post-Infinity War fics. It’s a nice short take on what may have happened after Infinity War and has some very good Steve and Tony moments (no ship). I’d say it leans a little more to Tony’s side of Civil War (which is the side I’ll die on, I’d love to have a discussion about it :) ) but has a lot of good characterization of Steve and how he might have felt not only post-Infinity War, but also post-Civil War.

Fandom: Star Trek (The Alternate Original series) 

Author: noodleinabarrel | Word count: 2,324 | Rating: Teen and up, for this story there is a lot of 18+ conversation even though there is no actual description of character actions. So 18+ only for this story! 

Summary:  After having the best lay of his life on the couch of the sleazy club he bartends at, Jim comes home starry-eyed. Bones, however, couldn't give a shit about his roommate's swooning. All he cares about is his half-made guacamole and the avocado Jim promised to buy, but conveniently lost when his mystery man accidentally stole his jacket.

Review: This is just the right amount of funny with cute for me lol. I absolutely love (spoiler alert) how focused Bones is on this avocado and Jim is so not interested in the avocado. Jim’s absolute infatuation with Spock is adorable and vice versa. I could definitely see this story going so many places and their relationship just taking off into something more than infatuation, even though it does wonderfully as a one-shot. I’ll have to peek around the author’s page (linked above) to see if this one-shot was given anything else. There’s just the right amount of “other characters mentions” that I want to know more. I would die for Academy era fics, I’ve read so many!
