I don't understand why every apprentice has to have a wand nowadays-

wands are like training wheels, all these baby bats getting reliant on them is bad cause they're not going to learn the skills from having to brew a good potion or dance in a ritual orgy under a full moon. Smh.

Most can't even cast a silent 'illuminate' anymore, spell literacy is a real problem affecting apprentices.

Back when I was an apprentice, I got taught how to inscribe common spells into my items to save time when casting, but now they have their 'artifact' that's plugged into god-knows-where, and is probably siphoning their mana when they aren't looking

petrify them into a statue

time stop or soul trap

just kill them and get some fool to resurrect them again when needed
