When Troy is thinking about Adrian’s bullshit reasons for ending things in his hotel room, he thinks “Going fucking MONTHS without sex wasn’t easy,” and I think he also mentions trying to jerk off but it having the vibe of being not great, but I don’t have that page marked.

I think #mytroy hates himself so much that he struggles with getting off without a partner. He’s always most comfortable giving rather than receiving (not like, a ton, it’s like, a preference and not a rule, obvs. I love bottom Troy sm). Going months without seeing Adrian legit meant months of stewing in being horny but not being able to do a whole lot about it.

Troy Barrett & Iris Wilson married August 6th 2014 (right after Troy got drafted but before he started with the Guardians, so he came into the team married)

Atlas Barrett-Wilson born January 3rd, 2015

Persephone Barrett-Wilson born April 1st, 2017

In this universe Troy joined the Cens in November 2021.

So Atlas was 6 when Troy came to Ottawa (he was 7 when the Cens found out abt them, he’s in first grade) and Piper was 4 (about to be 5 by the time the Cens discovered, she’s in a very bitchy daycare). Troy was 25 turning 26 at the time of trade.

Iris died in childbirth. Troy and Wyatt were on the same team for a year and a half while Troy was a single parent.

And you are wrong, Caitlin Dykstra picks the kids up because Piper and Susie go to the same daycare. Evan’s GAST is FLABBERED.

The only people who knew were Tanner Dillon (he and Troy become friends before the video leaks because they’re both outcasts on the team— Tanner not nearly as much as Troy— and he has babysat for Troy, the kids call him uncle) and Jaxson Young, but only because he saw Troy at the supermarket once (he too has met them once or twice and was sworn to secrecy.

Troy thought that Wyatt knew because Atlas used to go to a summer daycare that Lisa volunteered at and she and Iris were friendly. Troy dropped off a couple of times, and one of the times Wyatt was there and saw him. Wyatt, in an uncharacteristic moment of ignorance, assumed he was an uncle or family friend or something. Lisa had no idea what happened to Iris when Atlas stopped showing up, Troy didn’t notify the daycare.

Also yes Troy was 15 and the ex was in his 30s, it lasted a year and it pushed Troy into a relationship with Iris because they were childhood friends and she made him feel safe without judging him for staying. When the ex broke up with Troy he decided that he wanted a love like he had with Iris more than a love like that.

I’m so intrigued about how Troy’s experiences will make him different from canon in this. I’m assuming there’s a little less of the same need to be big macho dickhead bc people are like “he’s married to a woman and that means straight”. OH! And would he be as good friends with Dallas bc Troy was friends with him (in part) bc he was a good cover for Troy’s sexuality.

I guess he’s just traded one secret for another though, huh? Here’s my question: why are the kids a secret? And if that’s plot important then you don’t have to answer (you don’t have to answer anything of course), but since Troy’s done the (arguably) expected thing of getting married stupid young and having kids, then what’s the harm of people knowing about them?

I'm writing a Troy Barrett secret child fic; he is a widower with two children, comes to Ottawa as a single dad (a year later, after Shane has joined the team, and the Dallas video is not leaked until right before or right after the plane crash). He tries to hide it until in like March they get into a crazy bus crash and a couple ppl get injured and he has no one to pick up his kids from school and.....

Anywho OBV him and his wife were in a lavender marriage, but I keep writing her and Troy in a way where I don't think any of the Centaurs would believe he's not bi. Like they love eachother too much. It's really frustrating.

Also they got married at 18 so no Adrian but I have given Troy a highschool ex who was an adult and broke his jaw to make up for the lost trauma. I'm also considering making troy Iranian bc i think that would be fun.

I absolutely can see Troy finding someone like Rose was to Shane, very close and clicking on most every level except for the sex stuff. Troy just thinking he’s bi (until he’s like…wait no I’m not) and has a low sex drive or something.

How did his wife die? How old are his kids when he gets to Ottawa? Was his high school ex and adult when Troy was still in high school???

Which is Troy never spends extravagantly on himself. I’m sure he has super expensive gym equipment or that his sneakers and workout clothes are way overpriced by a ‘normal’ person’s standards, but nothing super extreme.

But his mom’s birthday rolls around? That boy is dropping $5k on a diamond necklace like it’s no big deal.

Harris makes a passing comment about wanting to upgrade his laptop? Troy is up all night researching all the fanciest top-of-the-line models and how soon he can get overnight shipping.

The barista at Starbucks looks like she’s having a bad day? Troy is slipping a $50 into the tip jar without a second thought.

He sees picture of a sad-looking dog that’s up for adoption? Immediately donating thousands to the local animal shelter.

Harris’ mom says she always wanted to visit Greece? Troy is giving her and her husband an all-expense paid trip as a Christmas gift.

This is canon to me and I will not be taking any notes.
