Solitude
It had to do with how it felt to be in the wild. With what it was like to witness the accumulation of trees and meadows, mountains and deserts, streams and rocks, rivers and grasses, sunrises and sunsets. The experience was powerful and fundamental. It seemed to me that it had always felt like this to be a human in the wild, and as long as the wild existed it would always feel this way.
Cheryl Strayed, Wild: A Journey from Lost to Found
It was my birthday today and my girlfriend took me to the Isle of Wight Zoo! I loved seeing the animals but the experience has reinvigorated my sense of injustice for these beautiful living creatures. As wonderful as the conservation schemes and breeding progammes at these zoos are, animals simply shouldn't be in captivity. If we want to help species survive and breed, resources should be spent on local wildlife reserves and on policing the illegal animal trade sector. #slowlyturningvegan

What is love?
The winds of freedom,
The light of truth,
The strength of weakness,
The spirit of youth.
I yearn for travelling far and wide,
But this sick society is where I'm tied.

I love this time of year.
When the trees lose their leaves,
and the sky starts to cry.
When we hang our coats to dry in,
the warm homes that we hide in.
The kettle's always boiling,
for those face-hugging brews.
And the blanket's at the ready,
for that cheeky mid-day snooze.
Yes I love when autumn comes round,
the most bitter and heartless of seasons.
I love this time of year,
for oh so many reasons.
The more human activity I see, the more I am sickened.
The more nature is see, the more I fall in love.
I honestly cannot comprehend what humans add to this beautiful planet that nature does not already offer.
