DID YOU JUST TELL ME THE TIME OF MY DEATH?
when you’re watching a movie and u recognize one of the actors in it from somewhere but u haven’t watched any of the movies or shows listed on their imdb
Is there anything more subtly unsettling than a full grown adult obsessed to the point of mania with D*sneyworld
Is there anything more subtly unsettling than a full grown adult shaming others for completely harmless interests
Okay, that's on me, I worded this badly.
What I intended to say was: Is there anything more subtly unsettling than a fully grown adult who doesn't simply enjoy a piece of child's media or have fond memories of a special interest revolving around it, but truly and deeply believes in the glitter and fairy dust conjured by a billion dollar corporate machine to the point that any criticism of the company itself or the mismanagement of any of its productions is met with the all the violent fervor of a brainwashed cultist
For those of you that have never dealt with riot cops
I know most of you are following me because of video game stuff so this is gonna be the only thing I say about the shit that is going down I promise.
The police do some things nationwide when it comes to peaceful protests.
1. This is the most important one for here NO ONE GIVES A FUCK ABOUT TUMBLR WHEN THIS SHIT IS GOING DOWN. No cops are checking tumblr no protestors are checking tumblr. I am writing this guide for people who are here on tumblr to understand that the tactics that are being used are the same ones that have been used for the past 20 plus years on every peaceful protest.
2. Dispersal orders will be given as if they have been said more than once and then acted upon immediately. This is to allow them to kick the shit out of you and then claim it’s your fault for not following orders.
3. “Less lethal force” methods will be used. Less Lethal is not “non-lethal” the police do not have access to those things. Less lethal force includes tear gas, pepper spray, rubber bullets, flash bangs and bean bag shotguns. These can kill but are designed to do as little damage as possible. The police however will use them in ways to cause lethal damage. The equipment will be used in intentionally dangerous ways to increase the fear factor.
4. The police will use every means possible to create fear in the protestors. Most people who go to these kinds of protests have never been to one before in their life. Most people have never had a gun pointed at them especially by a cop. Most of the time when someone is threatening you you think to call the police but when the police are the ones causing the threat then you get a sinking feeling.
5. If there is no one filming there is no evidence of what happened. That means that if they want to start beating people up first thing they have to do is get the media and the people with livestreaming capabilities out of the way. THE MEDIA WILL BE TARGETED SPECIFICALLY they will later be counted as collateral damage.
6. After clearing the media and doing what they do they will then blame it on the protestors. “They were violent.” “Planting bombs we had to stop them.” “They were on drugs.” etc etc. People believe police officers over the word of the average citizen. They will spin it so the protestors look like demons.
7. If violence does not stop the protestors then provocateurs will be used. A provocateurs is an undercover police officer that is “sent in to know what the protestors are up to” but really are there to start anti-police violence that the police will later use to justify their actions. I’ve had one once attempt to get me to set police cars on fire. If you see someone making the protestors look violent or unreasonable you might want to consider if they are a provocateur.
8.The president will be sad that the events are happening but will not do much more than offer his condolences. This will happen even while the UN is asking for intervention.
9. The media will spin the story as that the only things they have to go on are the words of the police since most of the time they are to lazy to interview protestors. Fox news will make the protestors seem like gangsters or anarchists.
10. People will be arrested for no reason and not given medical care. That includes medication for non protest related things. I remember having a friend get arrested and then held for 24 hours without access to his kidney medicine (he was later released without charge). The police will hold the protestors for a while and then release them because “no papers were filed”. This removes people from the protest and keeps them from having a coherent and continuous force. You can try to sue but chances are it will cost thousands of dollars and you won’t get much in return.
11. “free speech zones” aka you can protest over here until you actually are ok with that then we will move you out of there for “causing a disturbance”
12. Police officers from out of town will be bused in because local cops may go “to easy” on protestors.
Old post from when Ferguson was happening. 8 is obviously no longer accurate.
New additions that I can’t believe I missed:
13. Write your lawyers number on your arm with sharpie. Everything you bring will be taken from you when you are arrested.
14. Use 1 part water 2 parts liquid anti-acid for cleaning tear gas. Its an acid like hot peppers but genetically modified to be much worse. Its against the Geneva convention to use it in war this shit is bad. Alternatively use milk.
15. It’s hot out there bring water.
And remember its 2020 covid19 is still a thing and you are meetong in large groups. Wear protection.
Well, that explains why cops were destroying protesters’ crates of milk.
Take every precaution you can!
I suspect the presidents attack on the media are also why they are targeting the reporters more than usual. But I never thought of why they were. Great post OP.
If you are a contact wearer like me, bring googles.

Hey folks, I live in Seattle and up till a couple years ago I lived on Capitol Hill. I still have friends living there. So I thought I’d provide some local insight into the CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone).
There is a lot of misinformation out there, especially from Fox News, which photoshopped a gunman into pics, wow.
First, the best resources to find CHAZ info are local to Seattle: The Seattle Times, Capitol Hill Blog, and the CHAZ livestream where you can see the streets for yourself.
Capitol Hill is a very densely populated neighborhood full of apartment buildings and bustling restaurants and bars. If you work there, you live there (because it is hard to navigate by car, like NYC), and if you live there, you are probably super liberal. It’s also the center of counter-culture and LGBTQ culture in Seattle.
Are the protesters terrorizing the locals?
No, the protesters ARE the locals. They live in the many, many apartment buildings on Capitol Hill. Having lived there for years, believe me when I say “fuck the police” is a prevalent opinion there even when there isn’t a nationwide protest.
Is there looting? How are businesses protecting themselves?
The businesses are not being looted; they are open and are doing a booming business. The supply chain hasn’t been broken so they aren’t running out of goods. Also, a lot of workers / business owners ARE protesters.
I saw a picture of Seattle on fire!
Actually you saw a picture of a protest in Minnesota that Fox News pretended was Seattle because they are frauds and shills.
How big is the Autonomous Zone?
Six square blocks.
How did this situation come about?
There was a peaceful march. The mayor abruptly set a 5 pm curfew. The protesters ignored it and marched anyway. Then the police set up barricades to stop the march. The cops started using tear-gas and flash-bangs and the situation devolved from there. (You can find videos of this on Capitol Hill Blog.) What prompted the tear-gas was … one of the protesters thrust a pink umbrella over the barrier. Yes, really.
The situation deteriorated for several days/nights running until the police abandoned the East Precinct on Capitol Hill. The violence was very one-sided: the police attacking the protesters.
Then the police left. From what I heard the mayor ordered them out due to rumors or fears that the police station would be burned down? Which didn’t happen. Anyway, they abruptly left. As in, hired a literal moving truck and emptied out their headquarters, in almost a comedic beat.
Do you have to show your ID to enter the Autonomous Zone?
No. People come and go freely.
What’s with the physical barriers then?
They’re to keep vehicles out.
Backstory: While the protests were ongoing, a guy (whose brother was an East Precinct cop) tried to ram his car into a crowd of protesters. A brave man eating a hot dog threw himself at the side of the car, grabbed the steering wheel through the open window, and stopped him. Whereupon cop-brother-car-man shot him with a gun.
Personally I think cop-brother-car-man was planning a mass shooting because he had extra ammo taped to his hoodie sleeve. You can see the blue tape on his arm in the pic above. (The man who was shot thankfully survived. Check out those brave medics tending him while an ACTIVE SHOOTER is standing feet away!)
But anyway, that’s why there are barriers. I believe they move them aside for approved vehicles, like emergency vehicles or deliveries.
Are there people with guns roaming around?
Not on a regular basis, although I’ve heard a local gun club had some members there one night when it was rumored the Proud Boys (a Nazi group) might show up. (They didn’t.) But in general, no.
Is it scary??
No. The neighborhood is fully on board and overall there is a festive atmosphere. There are speeches about BLM, about discrimination, about what people want for the neighborhood. There are first aid stations, medics and counselors, and people offering free pizza. If you watch the livestreams, you can see people walking their dogs, out with their kids, etc.
Where will this all end?
I don’t know. The barriers can’t stay up forever and I think everyone knows that. The “Autonomous Zone” name is tongue-in-cheek, the protesters aren’t actually trying to secede from the United States. The point of all this is to force the city to listen to the people in the neighborhood, to enact change. This is a boiling over of frustration. The police have never been good-faith neighbors on Capitol Hill. And Seattle police have always been pretty racist and had a problem with excessive force.
Look at this whole situation. All the police had to do was stand back and let the protesters march; they would have marched and gone home and that would be that. All the police had to do was nothing. Instead they turned a neighborhood into a warzone.
By the way, did you know that yesterday (6/12) in a different Seattle neighborhood 60,000 people marched to support BLM? And because the city had learned its lesson about dumbass curfews, they let everyone march and nothing bad happened.
Weird how the national news didn’t report on that march, huh? Almost like they cherrypick the protests that will appear “scary” to their audience.
this is just like when we would play mermaids in the pool as kids :)
8 year old girls playing mermaids in the pool have what j.r.r. tolkien wishes he had
my brothers share special interests and my favorite thing to do is walk in a room and be like "hey guys can you tell me about the mariana trench" and then sit there for an hour while they both infodump to me about the ocean it's extremely entertaining
and my parents are always like "oh my god why would you do that" bitch. I want to learn about the ocean and these two thirteen year old boys r my most trusted source
Do NOT bother my boy.
DO. FUCKING. NOT.
What a wonderful way to wake up! Every little boy deserves a dog, and every dog deserves a little boy.

You can identify a fake redneck by their passionate support of “blue lives matter.” Real rednecks have been in at least one physical fight and/or high-speed chase with police officers and would do it again
“redneck” is a valid culture, not a euphemism for “bigot”
So this has probably already been said on this post but I dont wanna scroll through 66k notes to find it.
The term Redneck gain prominence with striking coal miners in Appalachia. They wore red bandanas around their necks to express union solidarity.
And they fucking FOUGHT police and Pinkerton strike breaker forces. It was a period called The Coal Wars.
The poor and working classes have a long history of community support and rejecting police authority.
If you’re pro-cop, you’re not a redneck, you’re a bootlicker who based your personality on a played out Jeff Foxworthy caricature. Get bent. Your ancestors are ashamed of you.
