Hey I'm Colby.

I'm trans, aroace, autistic and mentally ill. So that's probably what I'm mainly going to post about, as well as other random things.

My pronouns are he/they/ve.

I like musical theatre, books, nail art and true crime.

I also have a lot of opinions on the world so be prepared to hear some of those.

In conclusion this blog is going to be a mish mash of anything that comes into my head that I feel the need to share with the world.

(I'm new to the whole tumblr thing so bear with me, I hardly know how anything works)

Soulmate AU Prompt

I have an idea for a soulmate fic idea, but since romance is beyond my understanding and I'm dreadful at writing things I'll just give you a writing prompt for you to do whatever you wish to:

AU where everyone was a tattoo of a flower vine that goes from their shoulder to their wrist. It starts at their shoulder and grows further toward their wrist the closer they are to the time where they first meet their soulmate.

As the vine grows longer, more flowers appear on it, and the flowers change colour from blue (physically far away) to red (really close) depending on how physically close they are to meeting their soulmate, and once they have met then the flowers glow gold.

If the soulmate is ill then the flowers start to wilt, and when they die the flowers shrivel up and die.

Idk if this has been done before but I came up with it on a car journey when I was bored so hopefully it's original.

TW: Mood swings, su!c!dal thoughts, depression

Does anyone else go through periods of being perfectly happy/normal mood and then for no apparent reason or if something goes slightly wrong they feel really depressed, suicidal and anxious?

I get a lot of mood swings like this but they aren't severe enough or close enough to the diagnostic criteria to be bipolar disorder, or any type of bipolar, and I've wondered if they are just normal mood swings, but apparently most people don't end up suicidal when their mood swings to a low?

Any help would be appreciated.

Autistic people who have ear defenders culture is wearing them all the time for everything when you first get them, and then taking them off and being terrified by the sound of wind rustling through trees.

Why is autistic representation in the media so bad that every character I headcanon as autistic isn’t even technically human. And the ones that are human are never actually said to be autistic and have another condition/disorder instead. WHERE ARE MY AUTISTIC CHARACTERS?

How old were you when you realised boys could get away with anything?

I was probably around 9 when I started to question the sexist things we had been taught to believe when we were younger, and probably somewhere in my early teens when I realised for sure.

I've been thinking about this recently and from what little I can remember of when I was younger, sexism and male privilege was painfully obvious even at primary school, but obviously we were just taught that it was normal.

I was picked on pretty badly by this one kid when I was 9 or 10 (I can't remember a whole lot of what happened but it left me with serious body image issues, two eds, and other things) and I got the whole talk of "it's just because he likes you" from both my parents and the teacher. And nothing was done about it.

The same boy would ping my bra strap and make fun of me for wearing one. I was TEN. So then I grew to be insecure over having breasts and wearing a bra (I still am but that's more a gender dysphoria related thing). And again, nothing was done. He wasn't told off. He wasn't even asked to stop. I was just told "boys will be boys"

I'll be walking down the street and I'll still get boys catcalling after me and my friends, or coming up to us and saying creepy shit. I'll tell someone about it and get the same response of "boys will be boys" or "boys mature slower"

How fucking slowly do boys mature then? Because there are still grown fucking men doing this?

I know it's been said a thousand times and more, but men need to do better. I'm sick of it.

The temptation to get a load of stickers to cover my ear defenders with is strong, but so is the knowledge that I will then peel them off two hours later because I'll decide I don't like it.

And then I'll try to put them back on again.

And the cycle will continue.

Why does my therapist seem to think I'm repressing and blocking out memories? Like no? I just forget everything buddy there's nothing more to it.

I got my first pair of ear defenders and when I wear them with my sunglasses I look like a helicopter pilot I love it.
