Kip’s divorce gave him a beautiful new apartment. Obviously there wasn’t a pre-nup. He made out well for himself in the divorce. According to Elena, it was only his due. He put up with so much from Scott and it’s partly because of Kip’s support that Scott was able to win a cup in the first place. His monthly alimony payments are more than his actual paycheck.
He moved into his fancy new apartment about a month ago. It’s still weird and a little too big for him but he’s almost done unpacking all the boxes and he likes the shiny new feel of it. He never had such nice things before Scott and he’s become accustomed to them now - no way he’s giving them up. His friends love his new place. Elena stayed over for the first two weeks but she eventually had to go back to California. Sean and Kyle set up his tv and multi room sound system and have brought over dinner several times.
Scott’s not doing well. Last Kip heard, he’d had a DUI in Martha’s Vineyard. Eric had banned him from the Kingfisher. He was caught in pictures with a twenty year old. Hollander and Rozanov didn’t invite him to their hockey camps last summer. Kip feels bad, but Scott’s mid-life crisis since retirement is no longer his problem.
He’s getting home late after a night out with friends.
