Dust from before the dawn of time; deep-frozen astronauts; those probes engraved with their civilizations’ great doscoveries, together at last though those civilizations are both long gone and never met, and curiously similar; the gyre-rubble of galactic winds; spaceships that have run out of space and also of time; things that drift through the void; the spacegloves of a thousand diverse aliens, united in that they all once had the same type of really bad day; cockroaches piloting tiny asteroids; miniature black holes; ejected luggage from cowboy space-cruisers; a window, stamped with ‘do not open window’; an interdimensional quintuple-chess piece which has been moved a little too far in the fifth dimension; a set of false teeth; the core of a planet, rubbed down smooth by the dust of the years into a perfectly round pebble; a dirty icecube; and other sundry flotsam and jetsam.
