what is so very funny in a nauseating kind of way is if you take this point blank at what it’s saying, it’s just men’s rights activist shit. take off the context glasses for one second and see that this literally says it is worse to be seen as a rapist than it is to be seen as a little girl. in fact actually it says it’s better to be seen as a little girl than a rapist. this is not feminism. my god this is not feminism.

for everyone paying attention: what does this world do to those it sees as little girls?

but yes, the people seen as scary predators absolutely have it worse, that’s why they are getting defended like lives depend on it in comment sections, speaking at colleges, getting book deals, with all that money and social protection rolling in and anyone who has issue with them blocked from sight. we live in a patriarchy. we live in a rape culture. on some other planet maybe what is said in the above post is true but it sure as fuck isn’t ours. the crime of being seen as a little girl has a much more extensive violent and thorough punishment than is ever given to sexual offenders. you just don’t see the violence that happens to us as that bad, because it’s normalized, so you lessen it in your mind, and it leaves you saying things like “some people really think being viewed as a confused little girl is as bad or worse than being viewed as a dangerous predatory abusive rapist” and calling it feminism.

I have a lot of empathy for conservative young women. They recognise that porn is bad, prostitution is something to be fearful of, and casual sex is dangerous to women. Mainstream feminism, however, tells these women their opinion is wrong.

I saw a conservative woman say ‘body count matters’ because men view women as being conquered, so the more men you have slept with, the more men have ‘had their way with you’, indicating a lack of self-respect from the woman.

These women understand the true nature of men much better than libfems. Men have no respect for women, so the logic of sleeping with more men shows you have less self-respect as woman makes sense. Why would a woman with self-respect sleep with lots of men who don’t respect her?

I wish radfems and conservative women could have a dialogue. It would be much more productive than the libfems preaching at them. These women need their fears and concerns listened to, rather than being told they’re ‘stupid’ for their opinions.

Art used to be a male only thing, now it’s feminine and unimpressive and many people have moved on and are embracing AI because art has no value.

And since everyone’s talking about this new wave of “anti intelectualism” well intellectualism has no value anymore now that women have access to education. It’s just not cool anymore that these domains have been “contaminated” with women, they caught the pink plague and died in the eyes of the people, everything that is feminised is now undesirable because humiliation is contagious.

Men gatekeep greatness because it stops being great as soon as women can do it too, it’s bleak but females will be hated no matter what they do, so much so that what females adopt becomes “spoiled”, the goal post keeps moving so that only what men do is great—because they dictate everything, it is almost reminiscent of two children (in how immature it is) playing in the sand, one of them is bigger and older so he has leverage over the weaker child, therefore he gets to change the rules of the game so that only he remains victorious, regardless of who is actually winning. Men own the narrative and the power, so they get to decide what is great and what is not. You will never escape the gender filter.

Why does this happen?

It is because every man knows women are weaker and inferior, they grow up learning from experience, their instincts and the wisdom of the collective that a woman is bellow him, and that a woman is never his competition, he is told from a young age never to hit one and how best to “treat a lady” aka how to manage this weaker creature and navigate a world in which 50% of the population is fragile.

I wish there were studies on the actual damage men's torment does. The constant hyperawareness to prevent assault and the background noise of low-level stress from men "just teasing" or "just messing with" us cannot be healthy for our hearts. It hurts so much that they just LIKE to see us stressed and upset.

The other day I had a man openly admit to me that when I said I would not like a dick pic, it made him want to do it more. When I asked why, he responded "idk, just made me want to pick on you".

To add to this: while men and women have similar or comparable rates of PTSD/CPTSD, the way that it is “developed” vary wildly.

Research has shown that men are far more likely to develop PTSD due to a standalone traumatic event compared to women who — as stated — are more likely to develop CPTSD due to prolonged traumatic events.

While different studies or papers will report slightly different numbers, all agree that women are more “tormented” by daily life than men and thus develop worse mental illness due to it. This study in particular even states that “cisgender women are 2 to 3 times more likely to develop PTSD and CPTSD than men, even when exposed to similar trauma types.”

TLDR; being a cis woman in the world is so traumatic we are 2 to 3 times more likely to develop PTSD than a man by simply living in the world with them.

• feminism is not taken seriously as a sociopolitical movement with actual theories and intellectual writers. it exists as an aesthetic, a (defunct) dating strategy or a tiktok.

it’s why expressing any genuine feminist sentiment — being critical of marriage/heterosexual relationships, porn/sex/beauty industry, all religions (christianity, islam, etc.), surrogacy, and more — will have you walking on eggshells, even though these are basic feminist concepts.

• i have always hated the notion that women can “man hate” their way into better male partners.

AT LEAST 1 in 3 women will experience sexual violence in their lifetimes. a woman’s rapist is most likely to be her male partner (her boyfriend/husband, etc.). not that creepy stranger waiting in an alleyway, but rather the man that she trusts most. this is a simple empirical fact.

I've been thinking about "you cannot solve systemic problems with individual action" a lot lately and it's like. It's not that it's wrong exactly but I feel like it's become a thought-terminating cliche, a rallying cry for apathy and inaction.

You can't change anything with your actions so don't bother. You going vegetarian won't shut down a factory farm so don't bother. You buying something in sustainable packaging won't make a dent in the landfill so don't bother. You donating five bucks to a charity won't solve poverty so don't bother. You buying ethically-made clothing won't stop sweatshops from operating so don't bother.

I agree that the only way these problems are going to get solved is if the government enacts regulations to do so, but the key point here is that the government is not going to spontaneously do that. Everybody says they want to protect the environment and for people to make a living wage in the abstract but as soon as regulations start being passed people start throwing fits about how it's impacting their lives.

If the government banned factory farms, meat would suddenly be priced like a luxury item and people would throw fits about how poor people can't afford protein anymore, if they banned plastic packaging people would throw fits about how we're expected to bear the increased production costs, if they banned imports of items made in sweatshops or by slave labor people would throw fits about how they can't get their coffee and chocolate and electronics anymore.

There's a post on here about how community river clean-ups don't actually make much of an impact on water pollution, because the major cause of water pollution isn't random trash but industrial and agricultural run-off. But the clean-ups are still extremely valuable because they get the community invested in the cause of water pollution, the community starts taking pride in their local environment and start actually caring about environmental regulations on a personal level, and that grants activists the buy-in to push for changes that actually can reduce water pollution.

We absolutely must get individual buy-in before we can expect systemic change. You can't solve systemic problems with individual action, but you can't solve them without it either. Making small changes to your consumption habits isn't going to fix the world, but it gets people invested in and connected to the cause, it makes them feel like they're part of a larger movement, and it primes them to think of these regulations as wins for that movement rather than a sacrifice being forced upon them by the government.

"No individual solution for systemic problems" seems like it's just become a way to justify not having to actually do any work to address issues you claim to care about. It's just "surely someone will do something eventually" writ large.

I wonder how many people who are shitty or bad at their jobs because they don't want to exist. like they do what they do solely to provide for themselves and don't care about whether it's done well or not and the consequences of that because they just don't care about living. shitty doctors, teachers, cops, dentists, librarians, grocery store cashiers, caregivers, waiters/waitresses, delivery people, etc. it sucks when people are on the end of the treatment of these people but ultimately I'm not surprised when a person sucks at or doesn't put much effort into their job because ultimately everyone is coerced into working and obviously if you're forced to exist you want to do what's going to give you a better quality of life and what you can manage with a perceived minimal cost to yourself. sometimes this results in people who don't care about the work itself doing jobs they don't want to do because they have to live regardless. this is not to say it's okay to harm others as a result of your work because to a degree yes you should have chosen another job. maybe people should have never existed to be in this position in the first place. maybe people don't want to change diapers. maybe people don't want to deal with a bunch of kids. maybe people don't want to have to care for the elderly. maybe people don't want to have to serve you shitty food. maybe people don't want to clean after you. maybe people don't want to plaster on fake smiles to help you with bullshit. maybe they don't have a passion or a desire for any job at all. but their survival is held above their head in the form of a paycheck for jobs they don't want to do anyway...
