The car lost control and crashed into a nearby tree, severely deforming its front end. The accident broke the man's leg, severed the girl's right leg, and heavily damaged the motorcycle.At 12:34 AM on June 8, 2025, more than a week after the accident, an account named Do Quang Minh (a relative of the victim) posted confirming that the victim had passed away, shortly before the 2025 High School Graduation Examination was set to take place. According to the post, the victim's name was Thùy, affectionately known at home as Mina. On June 10, 2025, information regarding Thùy's funeral circulated online via an image of an obituary. According to the obituary, she passed away at 10:07 PM on June 7, 2025 (Vietnam Time). The visitation ceremony was held on June 11, 2025, at the National Funeral Home, located at No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi. Vietnamese press did not disclose the full name of the BMW driver responsible for the accident, only releasing the initials "N.S.C." alongside the birth year 1961. According to Nguoi Viet Daily, this information matches Mr. NGUYỄN SỸ CƯƠNG, a former deputy of the 14th National Assembly and former Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.[1] Bouquets of flowers were placed around the base of the tree at the accident site by the people one year after the event occurred, in the context of many police officers standing on duty.
